Elevator Pitch:SCP-XXXX is a worm-like creature which resembles a palm tree, it resides in oasis and beach environment without much population around the west of Africa. This creature contains both animal and plant cells in an anomalous structure, this creature is capable to live until 80 or 90 years, by just maintaining themselves via photosyntesis.

Unlike palm trees, these creatures are mobile and are enough intelligent to capture and consume other lifeforms, by being omnivor it's diet consists of surrounding plants, trees, mammals and birds. It has a mouth on the very top of it's body, using their "leaves" as teeth to shred and attack, so it may consume larger animals. They are completely blind and rely on sensorial organs to feel vibrations in a 30m area.

It is also very territorial and aggressive, attacking and eating unaware creatures passing by, thanks to camoflaging as a palm tree. However, it has other methods to hunt, it is capable to rotate its body at high speeds while forming a "drill" with their leaves, which allows it to move quickly underground, specially in the sand of the enviorments it lives in. This behaviour only occurs if a creature escapes their initial attack. They can aswell dig their whole bodies underground and attack upwards once they detect any movement.

They don't search for nourishment or move to a new location, it always remains or stays in their original spot, where they are born. It is still unknown the type of species it is and more research needs to be done around their origin.
