Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be contained in a standard sized containment cell containing no windows, in [DATA EXPUNGED]. All testing and examination must be done 10 feet above the entity. One guard is to be posted in front of the entrance into the cell. The cell door must be locked at all times to prevent any visual contact of SCP-XXXX. In the event that one does enter the cell, said person must be surveilled through cameras for the duration of the visit.

Temporary Containment Procedure Update: (See Addendum XXXX.3) No more subjects will be tested upon SPC-XXXX. This order shall persist indefinitely, until effects from SCP-XXXX can be prevented, or more is understood from the effects persisting in order to contain it better.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a 12' X 4' Aluminum Finish Bulletin Board, containing instances of SCP-XXXX-2. SCP-XXXX itself appears to have an alluring effect, appearing to draw any entity within a radius of 3 ft to itself, though testing may suggest that this is just curiosity when placed near any entity.
SCP-XXXX spontaneously generates SCP-XXXX-2 every 5 to 10 minutes, while also causing other instances of SCP-XXXX-2 to disappear every so often. When a subject is placed within the perimeter of SCP-XXXX within reading distance, the subject turns into an instance of SCP-XXXX-3, which it will lose knowledge of whereabouts and forget about every other task, once reading commences, until it has read all documents. The state of SCP-XXXX-3 is put on the subject indefinitely, due to a memory like event occuring when presented with SCP-XXXX multiple times.
Reading all current documents is near impossible, but when an instance of SCP-XXXX-3 reads all of it fast enough, the subjects appears to black out. Each instance of SCP-XXXX-3 shown to be reading SCP-XXXX-2 must be taken out by force in order to stop the reading process from continuing.
Photographs of SCP-XXXX-2 will appear to have similar effects, blacking out once reading all instances of documents within the photograph, while tapings and recordings of SCP-XXXX-2 will produce the exact same effect as if SCP-XXXX was actually there. After an instance of SCP-XXXX-3 comes back into consciousness appears to have forgotten reading SCP-XXXX-2 beforehand, thus making it impossible to read what SCP-XXXX-2 actually reads, but is speculated to contain instances of advertisements or letters based off the appearance of SCP-XXXX itself.

Addendum XXXX.1: Discovery
SCP-XXXX was discovered in an abandoned schoolhouse during a series of investigations of disappearances of escaping teenagers. After seeing the effect of SCP-XXXX upon officers, it was taken into confinement through multiple scientists.

Addendum XXXX.2: Experimentation
When placing a subject within SCP-XXXX, it was able to percieve SCP-XXXX perfectly well with no incident. Once the subject started reading, it became absorbed into it and was unable to stop, even after multiple interruptions, thus becoming an instance of SCP-XXXX-3. When attempting to physically move the subject, it would not budge. The subject’s eyeballs do appear to be reading the document when a careful inspection was done. The only way to stop the subject was through sedation. SCP-XXXX-3 appeared to be in shock, though there wasn’t an apparent cause for this state. SCP-XXXX-3 was able to talk and see freely with no other side effects

Addendum XXXX.3: Incident
Since experimentation has begun, it appears to have fatal effects upon multiple viewing, in which when SCP-XXXX-3 view SCP-XXXX-2 two or three times, SCP-XXXX-3 show signs of aggression when approached and cannot be sedated, thus killing multiple officers through physical strength before getting knocked out. SCP-XXXX-3 was tested once more, in which once interrupted again, it had [DATA EXPUNGED] Since then, testing has ceased, by request of Dr.[--]
