SCP-XXXX prior to acquisition

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a dry cell block within the 06-Wing of Site-35 facility monitored under 24hr video surveillance. Annual lubrication of body and components are to be carried out to prevent further oxidization. SCP-XXXX is not deemed to be a threat while the engine is off; therefore, lubrication applications may be carried out by personnel with a security rating as low as level two (2). In the event of a security breach, SCP-XXXX is to be deemed low priority due to its inactive state.

SCP-XXXX's ignition keys are to be contained in a standard lock box in the 05-Wing of Site-35 facility. Due to the anomalous properties activated by ignition of the engine, under no circumstance will the ignition keys be accessed by any personnel with a security rating lower than level four (4).

Description: SCP-XXXX is a 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu SS model. Vehicle frame and components in good repair; however, upon initial attainment, status report describes SCP-XXXX to be in poor condition and inoperable. SCP-XXXX displays multiple anomalous properties summarized below.

  • Once engine is turned over, SCP-XXXX begins to speak through AM/FM radio frequencies and engage in dialogue with the operator (Research Report: R-XXXX-1).
  • Looking into the rearview mirror reveals a subject’s “past”, particularly a moment of their life that was troubling (Research Report: R-XXXX-2).
  • Setting gears to reverse and engaging the throttle subsequently causes subjects to be “absorbed” by SCP-XXXX (Research Report: R-XXXX-3. (a)).
  • Absorbed subjects can engage in dialogue with operators through AM/FM radio frequencies (Research Report: R-XXXX-3. (b)).
  • SCP-XXXX will seemingly repair and refurbish its components of its own volition (Research Report: R-XXXX-4).1

Anomalous properties remain inactive if engine is off. For this reason, SCP-XXXX and its ignition key are to be contained separately.
