Item #: SCP-5696

Object Class: Thaumiel Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-5696-A is contained within a 1 x 1 x 1 meter lead-lined steel cube inside a 2 x 2 x 2 meter Faraday cage. The surrounding containment chamber is outfitted with six (6) N42 grade neodymium magnets capable of outputting no less than 13,000 Gauss each. Two (2) guards armed with plastic firearms are situated outside SCP-5696-A's containment chamber at all times and are to be rotated in two hour intervals. No personnel are authorized to be within twenty (20) meters of SCP-5696-A's containment chamber for more than six hours in a 1 week period.

Acting upon information presented by SCP-5696 is considered a purposeful violation of containment procedure and will result in immediate termination.

Description: SCP-5696-A is an ornate blue glass double chamber water pipe measuring 15 cm in height. The inside of the item is coated in a partially biological film consisting of 72% plant ash (identified as marijuana), 22% volcanic ash, and 6% unidentified inorganic material. SCP-5696-A is able to be cleaned, and SCP-5696-B will express gratitude during it's next manifestation event. However, the film will invariably return within one week of cleaning.

SCP-5696 operates in two phases. In phase 1, SCP-5696-A will anomalously produce a series of electromagnetic waves every 56 seconds. These waves will stimulate and interfere with the neural pathways of any human within a 20 meter radius of the object. The results of these effects vary wildly between subjects but can be artificially manipulated by filling the object's bowl with certain flammable substances. These substances will spontaneously combust whenever phase 1 begins. See Testing Log 5656-TL1 for the effects of approved substances.

If no suitable subjects are within the 20 meter effective range at the end of phase 1, SCP-5696-A will repeat the process and send out another series of electromagnetic waves. Otherwise, the beginning of phase 2 (henceforth known as a manifestation event) will see one subject affected by SCP-5696-A lose complete control over their facial muscles and respiratory system. Whenever an affected subject attempts to vocalize, they will speak as though they are "Alice Laviolette." This personality has been designated SCP-5656-B.

SCP-5656-B identifies itself as a French female born in the year 1768. It presents in the above average percentile of all intelligence tests administered to it and appears amicable to all foundation personnel.

SCP-5696-B is
