Item Number: SCP-X
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-X is kept in a standard humanoid containment cell at Site-06-3. SCP-X is allowed to submit requests for entertainment items, to be granted on a case-by-case basis so long as they do not present a reasonable risk of containment breach or self-harm. Object is allowed 3 hours of exercise time per week to be taken in 1 hour segments, approved at least 4 hours ahead of time and supervised by at least 2 security personnel. Under no circumstances are Foundation personnel to make skin-to-skin contact with SCP-X. Hazardous material containment apparel may be deployed as appropriate to ensure personnel safety.
Containment Addendum 05-21-2017: Due to the negative impact on SCP-X’s mental health, testing has been suspended indefinitely.
Description: SCP-X is a Caucasian human female, 31 years of age, 1.6m tall and weighing 46kg. It has brown hair, brown eyes, and displays no anomalous differences in biology or physiology compared to the average human female.
SCP-X’s anomalous properties manifest when it makes skin-to-skin contact with a living human being. As soon as skin-to-skin contact has been made with a subject, that subject’s prefrontal cortex will immediately cease all activity, preventing the formation of new memories. Following this the subject’s hippocampus will begin to show elevated levels of activity and undergo an anomalous form of retrograde amnesia. During this process the subject will lose memories starting from their most recently formed memories, and proceeding in reverse-chronological order until the subject has no remaining memories. Notably subjects that have lost memories in this way do not display the same type of brain damage typical of patients who have suffered non-anomalous retrograde amnesia. The amount of time taken to completely wipe a subject’s memory is variable based on age, and the individual’s ability to recall past events1 with the longest time taken being approximately 12 minutes on a subject who was 76 years old.
Within 24 hours following contact resulting in a subject’s memory loss, SCP-X reports that it possess new memories with extreme similarity to memories lost by the most recent subject(s)2. However, these memories are often unreliable, often incorporating elements such as people or places from other subjects whose memories SCP-X has erased. Testing trials have indicated a trend of decreasing factual reliability as SCP-X wipes the memories of additional subjects.
SCP-X claims it has no knowledge as to the possible origin of its anomalous abilities, which it claims manifests sometime during the early morning on 09-31-2014.
Acquisition: SCP-X came into Foundation custody following an incident on 10-01-2014 in which two officers attempted to bring SCP-X3 in for questioning. Both officers lost several hours of memory and SCP-X fled the scene. Agent Fowler, who was embedded at a neighboring department, was dispatched to investigate and apprehended the SCP-X 39 hours later when it attempted to return to its apartment. Agent Fowler conducted an interview with SCP-X following its apprehension.

Agent Fowler: For the record, state your name and age.
POI-89517: (Subject does not respond and is staring at their hands.)
Agent Fowler: State your name and age, please.
POI-89517: (Subject does not look up.) Nora Walters, and I’m 31.
Agent Fowler: Thank you. In your own words, describe the events of October 3rd.
POI-89517: You wanna know about the thing with the cops?
Agent Fowler: Yes ma’am.
POI-89517: They wanted me to come with them to the station, said they had questions about what happened to-(Subject takes a deep breath, and runs a hand through their hair.)-said they wanted to ask about what happened to Sarah.
Agent Fowler: Did you go with them?
POI-89517: Yeah I did, one of the officers, I forget his name, he put his hand on my shoulder and was explaining that I wasn’t in trouble, just said they had some questions. Then a couple seconds later he started asking his partner what they were and what they were doing. Then the other cop, he grabbed me and he started yelling at me, asking what I did to his partner and then all of a sudden he didn’t know why they were there either and I just- I just ran. It was just like- just like what happened to Sarah. (Subject crosses their arms on the edge of table and rest their head on them. They are holding a small metallic object in their right hand and rubbing it with their thumb.)
Agent Fowler: What did happen to Sarah?
POI-89517: She woke me up Thursday screaming- and she didn’t- she didn’t know who I was. (POI-89517 begins sobbing at this point and does not respond to further questioning)

Message:
After reviewing your request we have decided that testing with SCP-X will continue for the time being. If you feel this decision has been made in error you may submit a request to repeal the decision within the next two weeks. If you do not attempt to repeal the decision you will need to wait at least 6 months before requested the suspension of testing with SCP-X again.- Dr. Brian R. Warren, Site-06 Ethics Liason

I’m requesting suspension of testing with SCP-X as soon as possible. The quality of her memory is declining at a much faster pace than we initially expected and I’m afraid that if we continue at this rate she’ll no longer be cooperative with site personnel. I’ve attached an audio log of our most recent interview as evidence of this.- Dr. Culpepper

Hey Marie, your request has been approved by the Ethics Committee. As of today testing with SCP-X has be discontinued. If for some reason in the future you feel like we can start back up again let me know. Have a good one.

I’m again requesting the suspension of testing with SCP-X effective immediately. Her sense of self is so far gone I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to repair the damage done, but I certainly won’t if we keep making things worse. I’ve attached an audio log from our most recent meeting as evidence to this effect.
