Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX remains uncontained and will likely stay that way, as it has no fixed location and recorded efforts of containment have all resulted in failure. Due to the attributes pertaining to SCP-XXXX, the Foundation has no means of containment without risking an innumerable loss of resources and personnel. The Foundation's main priority is to minimize civilian exposure by sending out patrols into the North Pacific Sea which go along the presumed path taken by SCP-XXXX.

If any geographical area within the Pacific Ocean is found to be undergoing a SCP-XXXX event, MTF Gamma-6 is to quarantine 20m around the area under any suitable cover story.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a group of oceanic anthropoids measuring from the waist at 10 m tall.

SCP-XXXX-A is the designation for a recorded ██ instances of SCP-XXXX. All Instances of SCP-XXXX are jet-black in colour, have two black eyes, and their waist is obscured¹. All instances share the same appearance with size being the only thing that varies between each. The eyes are the only attributive facial feature of SCP-XXXX. The eyes have never been observed to close, always staying wide open and staring.

No SCP-XXXX-A instances have ever been observed together or within ████ miles of each other, While these instances stay within and around the Northern Pacific Ocean the closest any have ever been was on 8/4/1944 when 2 instances appeared 3 nautical miles away from each other near the Midway atoll².

SCP-XXXX will not interact unless it is acknowledged through speech or written text while it is within 30m of its observers

+ Initial Observation Video

Initial reports of an SCP-XXXX event were spotted during Typhoon ███████. MTF Gamma-6 Team ███ approach within 20m before video and audio feeds turned on. Team members are henceforth referred by their designations Naoki, Keiko, and Manabu. Mission Parameters are to conduct precursory observations of SCP-XXXX's affects and assess its threat level.

(The video camera's view is re-established: The sky is obscured by storm clouds and torrential rainfall obscures the horizon. The sound of the waves and rain makes the audio almost entirely unsalvageable)

(Keiko walks towards Manabu and obscures the video)

Keiko: -They said it was right here, Where do we-

Manabu: I don't know, I don't know.

(Video and audio cuts out for approximately 13 minutes)

Keiko: Do they really expect us to find anything out here?

Manabu: Hey there, Word of caution, If we go back now our asses are gonna be handed to us on a silver platter tonight.

Keiko: (unintelligible)

Manabu: We won't be able to work well as a team if you have that attitude.

(Keiko walks out of view of the camera. Camera shows the ship making its way through the storm)

Keiko: I'm making some green tea down below, I'll make extra if you ever decide not to overwork yourself… and drench yourself.

(Keiko walks away and Manabu brings the camera to the side of the vessel. 4m tall waves are seen in the distance, Camera is turned to face Manabu)

Manabu: We're gonna hang tight for a bit until the storm lessens up, and hopefully these guys cheer up because they've been real-

(Speech is distorted for 5 minutes)

(Manabu puts the camera in his raincoat and continues talking. At [00:52:12] the camera starts to move erratically)

(A distorted scream is heard followed by the sound of a wave crashing. The camera falls to the ground and the video cuts out)

(No audio corruption is heard. The camera is aimed over the left side of the boat, The sea is calm and the typhoon seems to be far off in the distance³).

Naoki: It's on.

(The camera is turned to the right, Manabu is shown leaning on the railing with a teacup in his hand)

Manabu: Well, this turned out fairly well, for you guys I guess. (he takes a deep breath in) We haven't observed anything of note yet… Just calm seas.

Naoki: Too calm.

(Camera is set up on a tripod facing off the Starboard Bow)

Footnotes

1. It is still unknown what the lower half of SCP-XXXX is.

2. The disappearance of the USS Kete is credited as being caused by these two instances, Which would mean that this is the most damage any SCP-XXXX-A instance has caused.

3. Satellite photos taken 2 hours later revealed that the typhoon still had not left the area and it would not end up moving for another 4 hours.
