INCIDENT: 166-CB
GOIs INVOLVED: Serpent's Hand
A Chinese Ministry of State Security agent, designated POI-414, attempted to breach the containment of SCP-0166, using forged clearance documents. POI-414 was detained for questioning, but appeared to have no memory of how and why he attempted the containment breach. POI-414 was amnestised and released from Foundation custody. Following this incident, SCP-0166 was interviewed as to its involvement in this incident.
Interviewed: SCP-166
Interviewer: Dr. Patty Henderson
Foreword: In Light of Incident 166-FC, it was deemed that it would be safest to use an Asexual researcher to interview SCP-166. The Pataphysics department suggested that one of its researchers, Dr. Patty Henderson, be appropriate for this purpose.
Dr. Henderson: Hello, SCP-166. I'm Dr. Henderson. I would like to ask a few questions about the recent incidents that almost resulted in a breach of your containment.
SCP-166: Incidents?
Dr. Henderson: Recently, some GOIs attempted to infiltrate your containment area-
SCP-166: What comes around, goes around.
Dr. Henderson: Pardon?
SCP-166: You expend so many resources to contain me, and for what purpose? Maintaining the status quo? That benefits me so, so much. Forgive me, but I fail to see how this concerns me at all.
Dr. Henderson: Please, could you answer the question?**
SCP-166: You think I care? You know what happened to the last 'doctor' to interview me?
Dr. Henderson: Shut up.
(8 second silence)
SCP-166: Sorry. I just think it's quite funny that the main threats to your foundation are now coming from without, not within. That actually gives me a glimmer of hope, that maybe I won't spend the rest of eternity in a cell.
Dr. Henderson: So you admit you had some role in these events?
SCP-166: Of course not. Just that it would be the logical conclusion to the story.
Dr. Henderson: Story?
SCP-166: You know, the plot, the narrative, the whatever. But you don't care anyway. None of you care.
Dr. Henderson: Cut this nonsense. It helps no-one. Especially not yourself.
SCP-166: Maybe it doesn't. But it's high time I wrote a story that benefits me. Cooperating with you people never did anything for me anyway.
Closing Statement: SCP-166 remained silent for the rest of the interview.

INCIDENT: 166-GA
GOIs INVOLVED: N/A
At 19:18:32, SCP-166's ontokinetic anomaly suddenly ceased functioning. All structures created by it disintegrated into fine dust, and all personnel were no longer subject to its effects. In the preceding weeks, SCP-166 appeared to have spent significant periods of time in intense concentration, often up to 3 hours at a time. A lightening of SCP-166's mood followed consequent to this event. Request to downgrade Object Class from Keter to Euclid pending.
| Item #: SCP-166 |
Level 2/166 |
| Object Class: Euclid (pending Safe classification) |
Classified |
Threat Level: Black
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-166 is to be kept in a standard humanoid containment unit in Area-166.. Thrice per day, SCP-166 is to be fed standard meals, imported from the Site-952 commissary located 29 km from Area-166.
Personnel assigned to SCP-166 are to be rotated monthly, and are not to spend more than 8 consecutive hours within 20 meters of SCP-166. Asexual and neurotypical personnel are strongly preferred for Area-166 assignments. Personnel are required to undergo a weekly psychiatric evaluation; compromised personnel are to be immediately transferred to a different project.
As of Incident 166-FC, female-attracted personnel are denied access to SCP-166.
Description: SCP-166 appears to be a Semitic female in her late 20s; however, SCP-166's body is non-baryonic in composition, and lacks much of the metabolic functions of ordinary humans.
SCP-166 was previously the focal point of an ontokinetic field that alters the properties and appearances of surrounding matter. Interviews with SCP-166 suggest that the purpose of this field was to forcibly emulate an environment similar to those of 19th-century Dark Romanticist ideals. However, following incident 166-GA, this anomalous effect no longer appears active. It appears that SCP-166 can alter the effects of its ontokinetic field, and has chosen to suspend it for the time being, for reasons yet unknown to staff.
Previously, sapient beings who remained in the presence of SCP-166 risked developing permanent psychiatric symptoms due to its anomalous effect. These changes now no longer take place, and sapient beings previously affected by them have now been restored to their original mental state.
SCP-166's effects were not bound by a set distance; however, SCP-166's range appeared to significantly increase in relation to the level of conversion and/or aesthetic compliance in its surroundings, as did the rate its changes took place.
Addendum: On 31/10/2025, SCP-166 was granted limited privileges, including having the standard range of meals available to humanoid anomalies, due to its increased compliance with Area-166 personnel. It is being discussed with the Site-952 administrators as to whether it is advisable to transfer SCP-166 to a standard humanoid containment containment cell within Site-952.

INCIDENT: 166-DS
GOIs INVOLVED: Serpent's Hand
Whilst a Foundation convoy was transporting SCP-166 to its new containment cell within Site-952, it was attacked by a heavily armed group of four Serpent's Hand operative. The operatives appeared to possess anomalous abilities, and successfully overpowered the Mobile Task Force Theta-3 "Black Volga" that was assigned to transport SCP-166 safely. SCP-166 was captured, and two MTF personnel were killed.
Two smooth hands grabbed Miriam's shoulders and lifted her out of the truck. She squirmed.
"Get your hands off me!" She kicked at the person behind her and ran.
A rifle struck the back of her head, and everything went black.
Miriam woke in a damp room, on a soft bed, the first of such she had slept on in years. A warm yellow light shone from the ceiling, and was comforting to her. She opened the room door and stepped lightly on the wooden floor and into the vast reaches of the library.
A familiar face greeted her as she strode into the large library hall.
"Dr. Henderson! I'm sorry I was so rude to you in our interview."
"It's all right, Miriam. They were treating you horribly. Let me introduce you to my colleagues."
She gestured onto the tables below, pointing at a group of figures on one of the reading tables.
"This is Jack Hallows. He's a Thaumaturgist, and the one who teleported us away from the Foundation convoy.
That woman over there is Gillian Chiu. She's an expert in weaponry and her mortar strikes stopped the convoy in record time.
The man over there is Wong Daixin. He's a Chinese spy, and also a double agent for the Serpent's Hand."
"I have a quick question. What the fuck is a Thaumaturgist?" Miriam butted in.
"A wizard, sort of." Henderson replied.
"And you know me, a foundation researcher. I turned to the Serpent's Hand when I found out how they were mistreating humanoid anomalies. Using my knowledge, we have successfully broken you out along with half a dozen others.
The kitchen is this way. Let us eat!"
Miriam sighed, the first happy sigh she had done in years. Her gambit had worked. Dr. Whatelely was right. She had successfully written a happy ending for herself, and the open road laid ahead.

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-166 is currently uncontained. It is believed it was captured by a rogue Serpent's Hand cell. 4 MTFs have been alerted on standby for any activity that could possibly suggest its whereabouts, however, due to the nature of her anomaly, it is unlikely that it will be possible to re-establish containment.
Description: SCP-166 appears to be a Semitic female in her late 20s; however, SCP-166's body is non-baryonic in composition, and lacks much of the metabolic functions of ordinary humans.
SCP-166 is the focal point of an ontokinetic field that alters the properties and appearances of surrounding matter. Interviews with SCP-166 suggest that the purpose of this field used to be toforcibly emulate an environment similar to those of 19th-century Dark Romanticist ideals. However, following incident 166-GA, this anomalous effect had been altered by SCP-166. The pataphysical department has theorised that during Incident 166-GA, SCP-166 had in fact shifted its ontokinetic field to match a Science Fiction narrative, thus massively increasing its range due to the similarity of the Foundation's aesthetics to traditional Science Fiction. This created probabilistic anomalies around the world that conspired to release SCP-166 from its containment, as well as to improve its well-being.
SCP-166's effects are not bound by a set distance; however, SCP-166's range appears to significantly increase in relation to the level of conversion and/or aesthetic compliance in its surroundings, as does the rate its changes took place. Since Incident 166-GA, SCP-166's range has increased to worldwide levels. However, the degree of changes appears to have slowed to nil.
