Item #: SCP-4176
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4176 can freely roam the facility and interact with staff, although all interactions should be child friendly as to not upset SCP-4176. However, SCP-4176 is supposed to be kept in their room from 10 PM until 6 AM, and an officer should be sent to check on them at midnight and at 3 AM. Subjects should not be awake past midnight as it makes them cranky. Should SCP-4176-A or SCP-4176-B be awake during inspection, an officer should sing until both subjects are asleep.
Description: SCP-4176 is a pair of white twins, SCP-4176-A being a boy and SCP-4176-B being a girl. Both have normal, human bodies that fit the body of a child around the ages of 10 to 13. While SCP-4176 appears to be non-anomalous in nature, both weigh relatively less than they should with SCP-4176-A weighing only 21 kg and SCP-4176-B weighing 18 kg.
SCP-4176 also possesses an unnaturally calming voice. Personnel exposed to SCP-4176's singing have reported feeling well rested, happy, and at ease. Personnel with PTSD and other mental illnesses have reported having their mental ailments cured or retarded by SCP-4176's singing. While SCP-4176 cannot heal wounds with their singing, studies have shown that their singing speeds up healing by about 30% - 40%, although it is not yet known why the percentage of increased healing is so inconsistent. SCP-4176's voice only presents its anomalous effects if it being listened to live. Recordings of SCP-4176's voice do not have any anomalous effects.
SCP-4176 possess also the ability to detect what an individual is feeling and have been shown capable of giving mature and useful advice to individuals going through difficult times in their lives. SCP-4176 cannot however, detect what the other is feeling. SCP-4176-A cannot detect what SCP-4176-B is feeling, and the opposite is also true.
SCP-4176, when hugged, will emit a yellow glow even though there is nothing in their bodies that would allow such a thing to be possible. Neither of the twins know why they can do this, and it seems that it happens everytime they are hugged, even against their will.
SCP-4176 do not know when they were both, by whom, or where. Although ancestry results show that they are part French, Italian and Canadian. Surprisingly though, the twins can remember events that happened back in 1830's and beyond, which would imply they do not age. Both subjects can be hurt, however, and could easily be terminated.
SCP-4176's behavior changes depending on it's current state, SCP-4176 however, is on it's Normal state for most of the time. SCP-4176's behavior during this stage is playful, active and jolly. In this state, SCP-4176 is often seen singing together, mostly French or Italian songs. SCP-4176 has been shown singing modern songs without having ever been exposed to them. How SCP-4176 acquires the lyrics, melodies and general knowledge of the song's content is unknown.
SCP-4176's behavior during its Cranky stage is that of a child throwing a tantrum. Both SCP-4176-A and SCP-4176-B have a look of anger in their eyes during the entire duration of this stage, and refuse to properly communicate with staff regardless of their relationship. The only responses staff have been able to get from SCP-4176 during this state have been either full of sass or done in a mocking tone, and additionally, during this stage SCP-4176's active nature is turned on itself, becoming lazy and inactive. During this stage, it is recommended that SCP-4176 be left alone in their room. Should SCP-4176 be found arguing in their rooms, they should be separated into a different area.
SCP-4176 were found in the ██████████████ ██████ woods by passerby shivering naked under a tree. The Foundation was first alerted of SCP-4176 after the new parents of the children had been placing them in several local talent shows, bringing popularity to the children's singing ability. A cover up story was made in order to safely and quietly retrieve SCP-4176 from it's home and class C amnestics were administered to all of those who had been in contact with SCP-4176.
Addendum SCP-4176-1: Swearing around SCP-4176 is now forbidden, as it automatically causes them to switch over to their Cranky stage. Even if only one of the twins hears the swear, it will annoy the other twin until they also switch over to their Cranky stage and honestly, it's just a headache to deal with.
Addendum SCP-4176-2: While singing along with SCP-4176 during their usual morning routine is allowed, please don't do it so loud as to where you disturb everybody else. I get it, it's fun to sing along with them, but it's a major disturbance sometimes.
Addendum SCP-4176-3: Tests involving SCP-4176 and other SCPs are pending approval, so that means that until we get the results of the request, PLEASE don't have SCP-4176 see other SCPs or interact with them, as that will only hype them up and make them go to ████████'s desk and beg to "play with the lil' monsters".
