Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a padded, 4.5 m x 4.5 m x 4.5 m room. Constant video surveillance, pressures sensors, and mandatory checks every week inside the cell are to be administered. Any change in the beats per minute, position, or appearance of SCP-XXXX is to be immediately reported to Site-Managers. Any tests or research conducted on SCP-XXXX is to be approved by no less than a 45% vote from the 05-Council.

Description: SCP-XXXX appears to be a standard metronome, weighing approximately 5.9 kg. SCP-XXXX is made of an alloy, containing Copper and Tin, along with an unknown metal, giving it it's sparkling jet black color. The pendulum is made out of 13 Carat gold, polished and darkened with possibly the same substance in the rest of the metronome.

SCP-XXXX ticks at a rate of 60 BPM, or every one second. Every tick is corresponded with one second, and if the metronome were to stop, time would stop passing. The source of this anomaly is unknown, but it is hypothesized that the metronome might known that the metronome existed at the creation of the universe, but only recently traveled to Earth.

SCP-XXXX was brought to the foundation's attention in 198█ when a screech was heard, followed by a immense force of gravity, slowing down the passage of time relative to it's location. At the strongest point in gravity, 3.5 seconds was relative to 1 to everyone not in the radius. SCP-XXXX was discovered lying in a 5 meter deep impact crater in ███████, Colorado, still ticking. This suggest that although it is difficult to stop SCP-XXXX from ticking, or from breaking in general, it is not impossible. If an object blockades SCP-XXXX's pendulum, slowing it down, it automatically resets it's tempo to 60 BPM once the blockade is gone. Means of propulsion are unknown.

Addendum:

Note from 05-█
"Due to the very important nature of SCP-XXXX, I am making it clear that I want as minuscule tests, if not any, done on SCP-XXXX to better understand it. If anyone makes unauthorized access to SCP-XXXX, I will personally sign off on your deposition. If you want access to SCP-XXXX, bring it up to Dr. Leronov, and it will be discussed more."

These tests are to find out the strength of the pendulum by placing the object in its path. Administered by Dr. Leronov

Item: A standard C type cardboard, 4 mm thick.
Result: A unnoticeable slow in time occurred, slowing down time by 0.003 milliseconds.
Notes: "Our sensors detected a faint hum during the event, approx. 13 decibels. Meaning the blast we heard when it dropped wasn't it falling through the atmosphere making noise. Whenever the metronome stutters, it creates noise depending on how powerful the stutter was. We would like to request having headphones before our next testing session. - Dr. Leronov"

Item: A sheet of silicon carbide, commonly used in armor for tanks, 1.5 mm thick.
Result: A slight distortion is time, slowing it down by 0.2 milliseconds, still unnoticeable.
Notes: Additional info: Pressure sensors picked up a change in the gravity, about 0.2 extra meters per second. Sound generated recorded to be 43 decibels.

"Due to complaints of ringing from the staff, and the possibility of the object being declassified, I'm formally requesting for the premises to be evacuated during testing, or be moved to a less vacated location. The following test will be our last test as the magnitude of the items is getting larger, we fear it might break. -Dr. Leronov"

Item: A sheet of Chromium, the hardest metal on the Mohs scale, 1 mm thick.
Result: Gravity accelerated to 48.32 m/s², crushing the men, and 1 second = 10.4 minutes.
Notes: A noise of 132 decibels was recorded, and would have permanently damaged the scientists if they weren't wearing headphones. More testing is halted until further notice.

The following is accounts of what happened during the test, Dr. █████ asked to remain classified

Dr. █████: "I wasn't in the chamber, but behind glass looking into the area. As soon as the pendulum was blocked, a distortion effect surrounded us, and everything appeared warped. I was instantly crushed into my chair, and it crumpled. The glass soon after shattered, and an ear piercing noise was all I could hear. I was even wearing special headphones! The sheet snapped in half, and it just…stopped. Everything was normal. The only thing left over was the ringing in my ears, and the glass in the room. Apparently, in that fraction of a time, over 2 hours had passed."

Dr. Leronov: "I don't want to talk about it, and I'm requesting to be removed from this project, and no further testing should be done to SCP-XXXX at any time, for any reason. I would also like to bring to the foundation's attention that the fact the object can emit gravity isn't the only way it's controlling time. The calculations and equations calculating the force of gravity to time don't match up, meaning it's slowing time with gravity, and another unknown source. I suggest we do not try and discover whatever is allowing it to do this."
