Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a steel lockbox in a room guarded by two armed guards. Any personnel wishing to access SCP-XXXX must have level 2 or higher security clearance and be accompanied by at least one researcher of level 3 or higher.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a ████████ brand automatic two-deck card shuffler, with two decks of ███████ brand playing cards adhered inside the deck slots by unknown means. The button usually used to shuffle the cards is labeled “Shuffle”.

When the “Shuffle” button is pressed, every object not secured to the floor or ceiling within a 7.5 meter radius of SCP-XXXX has its chemical composition swapped with another object within SCP-XXXX’s area of influence. The process of how it decides this is apparently random. If the “Shuffle” button is pressed again within 7.5 feet of where it was pressed earlier before 4 hours have passed, [DATA EXPUNGED].

Once 4 hours have passed after the “Shuffle” button is pressed, all objects affected by SCP-XXXX will have their natural chemical compositions returned, no matter where they are in relation to SCP-XXXX.

Partial Test Log:

Test Procedures

Test objects are to be placed on individual tables secured to the floor of an 8 meter by 8 meter room. One D-Class personnel is to stand in the middle of the room with SCP-XXXX and press the “Shuffle” button. Dr. ██████ is to be notified of and present for any testing regarding SCP-XXXX.

Test XXXX-1

Subject: 1 apple and 1 banana.

Results: D-17643’s epidermal layer of skin is replaced with the banana peel, and vice versa. D-17643’s fingernails are replaced by the skin of the apple, and vice versa. Tables undergo no change. Later inspection of the apple and banana show that the inside of the banana and apple have been swapped.

Notes: “That went as well as it could. Imagine if his heart was replaced by banana flesh. The table didn’t change though, I’ll try running some tests later.” - Dr. ██████

Test XXXX-2

Subject: 1 D-Class personnel, 1 apple and 1 banana.

Temporary Test Procedures: D-Class is to step into the room barefoot holding a bottle of Elmer’s School Glue and SCP-XXXX. D-Class will glue their feet and the bottle of glue to the floor before pressing the “Shuffle” button.

Results: The banana peel is replaced with the apple skin, and vice versa. The D-Class and glue bottle undergo no change. Later inspection of the fruit reveals their flesh has been swapped as well.

Notes: Thank god we have a way to control what gets swapped and what doesn’t. I would hate to see this potential go to waste. - Dr. ██████.
