I saw this video on the SCPosting group on facebook, and decided to write this draft in about an hour on my phone. Decided to make an account to post it here to see what people think. I'm thinking that with some stylistic edits I could try to make it an official article.
MORE NOTES:
Reread before editing to catch any grammar mistakes. Honestly it seems to be a bit of a bugbear that you have.
Add an experiment log featuring a D-Class affected by the Zoo Zipper. The Experiment log should include an interview log. In the post-battle interview log, the transfigured D class should talk about how the tree needs the blood of birds. Maybe try to find the a location where someone in real life was killed by birds (It's happened in greek legend, if I recall, if not you can make up a character who was put to death by having birds peck at their entrails or something) change the location of this SCP, to match that location. Maybe it could be on the site of an old battlefield, and the SCP is where an old soldier who was injured in battle, and was killed slowly by birds died? Think about it, and experiment.
Make amendments to the article and experiment log. The MTF had to go near the tree. Instead of having an experiment log where you have D class approach the Tree, maybe reference some data referencing the fact that MTF agent's did not experience any effects being near the tree.
Possibly add more experiment logs. Add conversation log with Zoo Zipper subject talking about the compulsion. This should help explain some backstory on the tree.
Change experiment timings from 6 hours to a few minutes.
Improve formatting still.
You can do this.
Based on this video.

Item #:SCP-XXXX
Object class: Euclid
Special Containment procedures: The business center near SPC-XXXX is to be monitored by MTF Lambda-4 "Birdwatchers" using agents embedded as landscaping staff for unusual avian activity. Any birds that are circling SCP-XXXX are to be collected by agents from MTF Lambda-4 and returned to their natural habitat under the guise of local animal control agents. In the event more than 100 birds start circling SCP-XXXX and cannot be effectively dispersed, MTF Lambda-4 are to initiate procedure "Birdemic", followed by the dispersal of class A amnestics and a media coverup explaining the anomaly as a local chemical release.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a tree from the species REDACTED located at the REDACTED business Park in REDACTED, United States of America. SCP-XXXX exhibits no anomalous qualities unless a group of at least 3 birds comes within 25 meters of it. Birds that come within 25 meters of SCP-XXXX will begin to circle it on the ground continuously forming larger and larger circles until either they starve, or until a "Avian Royale" event occurs. *See addendum 1 for details on an Avian Royale event*. SCP-XXXX has shown no anomalous properties toward humans, though injuries have been incurred by civilians and MTF agents if they attempt to remove birds from the site once an "Avian Royale" event begins.
Addendum 1: An Avian Royale event is when 100 or more birds begin circling the tree. All birds
will begin attacking each other until there is only 1 bird remaining, after which time the remaining
bird, hereafter referred to as SCP-XXXX-1, will fly off. SCP-XXXX-1 will then seek out other birds and
attempt to herd them to SCP-XXXX presumably in order to initiate another "Avian Royale" event. Any
humans that try to interfere with SCP-XXXX-1's herding activity will be attacked by SCP-XXXX-1 until
they are able to move 50 meters away from SCP-XXXX-1, SCP-XXXX-1 expires, or the human expires.
Addendum 2: Procedure Birdemic is a mobilization of MTF Lambda-4 and the subsequent mass
sedation of all birds in the area via aerial sedatives released by drones. In the event that wind conditions do not allow for aerial sedatives to be used, then MTF-Lambda-4 agents are to use tranquilizer rifles in order to achieve mass sedation. In the event that too many birds are gathered for tranquilizer rifles to be effective, the "Avian Royale" event is to be allowed to continue until completion. SCP-XXXX-1 is then to be sedated and collected for further study. Allowing an "Avian Royale" to complete is not recommended due to the impact that it could have on the local bird population.
Addendum 3: SCP-XXXX was discovered following reports of mass bird deaths in REDACTED business Park by REDACTED's local newspaper. MTF-Lambda-4 was then dispatched investigate under the guise of animal control and a cover story about illegal pesticide use was disseminated. Class-B amnestics we're administered to all known eyewitnesses.
Experiment log:
Subject: Effects of exposure to SCP-XXXX
Experiment 1:
Subject: One bird from species Columba livia, Also known as the common Pidgeon.
Procedure: Release bird from cage near SCP-XXXX.
Results: Bird immediately flew away.
Notes: Perhaps a it only works with Turkeys?
Experiment 2:
Subject: One bird from the species Meleagris gallopavo. Also known as a turkey.
Procedure: Release bird from cage near SCP-XXXX
Results: Bird began to walk around, pecking at the ground, but otherwise took no interest in SCP-XXXX for two hours and twenty one minutes, until two other birds simultaneously flew by. Both birds were from the species Columba Livia. All three birds began circling SCP-XXXX. After this continued for approximately 14 minutes, a bird from the species Laridae, or a gull, join them in circling the tree. More birds began to gather over the course of the next 3 hours. When there was no longer room in the first circle of birds, a new circle of birds surrounding the old circle was formed. This continued for approximately 5 more hours until a flock of 100 birds was reached. When the 100th bird landed and began to circle, all birds began pecking and scratching at themselves until only one bird remained alive. The final bird was sedated and sent to site 104. Two MTF agents and one researcher were treated for peck and scratch wounds caused by the bird during it's collection.
Notes: What happens when we release the bird after the fact?
Experiment 3:
Subject: SCP-XXXX-1-A. A bird of the species Accipitridae, or hawk, that survived an Avian Royale Event.
Procedure. Release back into the wild with a tracking tag and camera installed on it's head.
Results: SCP-XXXX-1-A flew off and attacked a nearby gull. Instead of killing it, it proceeded to place it approximately 15 meters away from SCP-XXXX. When the bird tried to leave SCP-XXXX-1-A began to attack it again, leaving it unable to fly. SCP-XXXX-1-A then flew off and attacked another bird, this time from the species Columba, and brought it back to SCP-XXXX. All three birds began to circle SCP-XXXX again. At this point any birds that flew within 50 meters of SCP-XXXX started to gather and circle SCP-XXXX in the same manner as experiment 2. At this point the attending researcher called a close to the experiment. All birds were sprayed and collected for testing.
Notes: I don't think we need to see what will happen again, and I am pretty sure the MTF will not appreciate having to clean up another mess.
Experiment 4:
Subject: Birds affected in the previous experiment
Procedure: Release the birds who were previously affected by SCP-XXXX, including SCP-XXXX-1-A approximately 100 miles away from SCP-XXXX. All birds are to be fitted with tracking tags, and SCP-XXXX-1-A is to be fitted with a camera as well as a tracking tag.
Results: All birds quickly dispersed back to their usual habitats, with the exception of SCP-XXXX-1-A. SCP-XXXX-1-A quickly began to seek out other birds and attack them, inflicting non-lethal wounds and dragging them back to SCP-XXXX-1-A. All birds that were wounded by SCP-XXXX-1-A were terminated. SCP-XXXX-1-A was collected for further examination.
Examination report 1: An MRI of SCP-XXXX-1-A revealed unusual activity in the amygdala, and prefrontal cortex of the brain. No other anomalous properties were found upon autopsy.
Notes:Looks like these events can be prevented. Updated special containment procedures.
Experiment 5:
Subject: D-XXXX. D-XXXX-1 has no history of violent crimes.
Procedure: Expose D-XXXX-1 to SCP-XXXX for an extended period of time. D-XXXX-1 is to be equipped with a shoulder mounted camera, and microphone, along with a vital monitoring system.
Results: D-XXXX-1 approached SCP-XXXX without incident. D-XXXX-1 waited under SCP-XXXX for a period of 6 hours. No anomalous behavior or change in his vital statistics was noted.
Notes: Looks like it doesn't work on humans. Lets try three humans.
Experiment 6:
Subject: D-XXXX-1, D-XXXX-2, D-XXXX-3. D-XXXX-2 has a history of violent crimes, and D-XXXX-3 has a history of sexual assault. All three subjects are to be fitted with shoulder mounted cameras, microphones and vitals monitoring equipment.
Results: All three subjects approached SCP-XXXX without incident and waited for approximately 6 hours. No anomalous behavior or vital statistics was observed.
Notes: I guess it only works on birds.
Cross experimentation with SCP-3660 is pending approval of Senior Researcher Dr. Aldrich Hanssen.
