Interviewed: Researcher Greyson

Interviewer: Dr. █████

Foreword: This interview was conducted by the order of the 05 council after a series of unfortunate discoveries involving the Martian moon know as Phobos.

Dr. █████: Doctor Greyson, correct?

Greyson: Correct.

Dr. █████: As you most likely know by now, by the request of the 05 council you are to divulge all information involving all the research you have done on Phobos. If you do hold back on divulging the information on Phobos your termination will be expedited. Now start from the beginning when you discover the files in 1992.

Greyson: Alright, it was after the fall of Soviet Union. We were tasked with going over any files that were declassified by Soviets.

Dr. █████: How many were with you when you were going over the files?

Greyson: We had 26 researchers and 5 MTF with us at the time. We were given a temporary name, ███████. At the time we were sent the city of Zelenograd, Russia with this we entered into old research facility on the street of [REDACTED]. This is where we found the file… At first glance the file looked like a failed space mission. After flipping it over over we noticed the staple on the page had leftover page scrapes. We had to find the rest of the file.

Dr. █████: How long was the team there for before you discovered this?

Greyson: Its hard to tell, at least 7 hours at that point.

Dr. █████: Continue.

Greyson: Okay… we soon smelled smoke and mirrors after integrating several government official at the facility. One of the facility officials finally gave in and we found the rest of file. It was something… something else, the program was a cover up to hide a being or some ancient god.

Dr. █████: Did the file ever describe it or mention what it can do?

Greyson: No, it didn't. The file every time call it, it. The vagueness of the document caused us to wonder what it even was, so we searched.

The hunt for the lost

Greyson: We kept finding links to the red planet in file after file. It seemed like a branch of the Russian space program was devoted to it. At this point we informed our director, Director ██████.

Dr. █████: When was Director notified of the findings?

Greyson: It was after we discovered it wasn't an isolated incident or just some conspiracy theorist Russian scientist.

Dr. █████: Director ██████ green lighted the additional use of Mars Global Surveyor and Pathfinder to research additional information on "it". Even tho it might risk the current situation of Pathfinder and 1/40 of Mars is a lie? Hard to see a Director had the clearance to do that.

Greyson: I don't know how or what he did to get it, but as you said "it". Well it is something massive and you just don't understand yet do you!

Dr. █████: Doctor Greyson calm down or it will result in your certain termination of you and the rest of your "temporary group".

Greyson: Ya… okay.

Dr. █████: Now Greyson keep going.

Greyson: If I may, but I know before this there was 16 of us left before this. How many of us are left as of now.

Dr. █████ looks behind him into the window. A voice comes over the intercom
█████████: Four members as of currently Doctor Greyson. Sixteen Terminated, five have fled and two are unstable. Now Doctor Greyson continue.

Greyson: Oh God… pull it together, pull it together. Alright When the Mars Global Surveyor arrived we found a large Martian city, we named it M1. We quickly found hundreds more, but still m1 was the largest of all of them. Soon after Mars Pathfinder landed on location one kilometer southwest of M1. It took months to reach M1, but Sojourner finally reached it. The initial out skirts of the city were semi-intact as the same with the rest of the city. The rover kept moving towards the center of the city, this is where we discovered what the Martians looked like. We also discovered another statue larger then the Martian one. It's shape was wispy, ghostly almost. It had a mask, it was square and carved like some sort of wood. They carved it like some ghost, but they had statues of every beast that could be or was. Unknown horrors to the eyes… all in statue form.
Dr. █████: Doctor Greyson is this where you discovered what "it" was?

Greyson: No, for that we had to look else where. We had to get to another city to figure it out. We poured over the maps day in, day out. Till Katie… Katie Pristim went and looked back at the old soviet files. There she found a hypothesis, saying a link between statues the time of day and the eclipse of Phobos.
Dr. █████: Let me guess the statues come to life?

Greyson: No… it was Phobos.

Finding the missing parts

Dr. █████: You'll have to be more specific Greyson.

Greyson: It was the Roman god Phobos.
