Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept away from metal at all times, and is to be stored in a concrete bunker no less than 300 feet below ground in case of abnormally high magnetic spikes SCP-XXXX must be moved regularly to remain contained. Failure to move the anomaly results in ████████████████. All instances of SCP-XXXX-1 are to be transported to Site-██, accompanied by no less than 14 pyschologically fit personnel. Armament cannot include live ammunition, as instances of SCP-XXXX-1 will fuse with guns if they receive an opportunity, as seen in Incident One.
Description: SCP-XXXX was observed in 2015 by Dr.███████ of the Foundation's ██████████ team. Primary analysis of the anomaly by the doctor is as follows.
I observed a magnetic ripple in the atmosphere at approximately 3:42 PM on [DATA EXPUNGED], 1997. The magnetic ripple quickly changed into a large disturbance powerful enough to effect air traffic, and followed an arc-like path that impacted in █████, Nevada. When we recovered the cause of the magnetic event, it turned out to be a black sphere of unknown material and emitted a fluctuating magnetic pulse. It does not appear to do anything else, and is not deemed dangerous at this time.
After incident 001, the SCP was put under closer scrutiny and testing. The sphere acts as a sort of weight on the fabric of reality. Too long in one place, and it begins to crack it. The cracks begin as neon green shatter patterns, but soon open to reveal a black interior. The sphere itself is unharmed and unchanged by these cracks, even when they are fully open. When the cracks open, they also give off a field of non dangerous radiation. When non-organic matter touches these cracks, it simply vanishes. The cracks do not give off any gravitational field.
The largest danger of the cracks is when organic matter touch them. The organic material, if alive, will start to ████-████ ████ the organic matter into monstrosity's of varying sizes and shapes(instances of SCP-4972-1). These creatures can fuse with others and can also fuse with non-organic matter that can fit inside their bodies. Sealed reality cracks are emitted from fusions of five or more instances.
The speed at which cracks form, as well as their radius from SCP-4972, increases exponentially over time. Current estimates for time it would take to shatter reality in a major city are 8 weeks. Global shattering, 11 weeks. Origin of SCP-4972 is unknown. Magnetic field has vanished since incident 001 occurred.
Addendum XXXX-01: SCP-XXXX has been reclassified as Euclid Class. Refer to Incident Log 001 for further information.
Incident Log 001: After approximately four days in containment, neon green cracks of unknown origin and material began to spread out from SCP-XXXX. Examination of these cracks by Class D personnel ██████ revealed nothing of the purpose of these cracks.
Incident Log 002: Cracks are beginning to open slightly to reveal a black space inside them. Observation continuing, higher grade containment is strongly advised.
Addendum XXXX-02: SCP-XXXX has been reclassified as Keter following incident 003.
Incident Log 003: One week after containment began, the older cracks opened up into three-dimensional holes with neon-green outlines. Class D personnel ██████ was ordered to make contact with one and was immediately liquefied by it.
Incident Log 004: Class D personnel ██████ and ██████ became entranced when entering the room on [DATA EXPUNGED]. They did not respond to commands and were liquified at a much slower rate than the first victim. As they screamed throughout the process, it can be inferred that it was unbearably painful.
Incident Log 005: Agent █████ and Agent █████ were mesmerized into opening the door and touching the cracks. They took 27 hours to become liquified, and were unresponsive to personnel encouraging them to move away from the cracks. When psychically protected personnel attempted to physically pull them away, they also began to liquefy and were unresponsive. One knocked the SCP itself off it's holding stand and it rolled out into the hallway. The cracks faded after all connected personnel were fully liquid, and smaller, sealed ones began to form around the SCP.
Incident Log 006: [DATA EXPUNGED]
Incident Log 007: Cracks became larger than the cell after increasing in rate. The containment chamber's walls were consumed, allowing for a route to retrieve the SCP. It has been moved to a larger chamber, but the cracks have not disappeared.
Addendum XXXX-03: Based on the effects of the cracks on non-living objects, use of SCP-XXXX as a Thaumiel is suggested.
Addendum XXXX-04: Analysis on the original chamber's cracks reveals that they are similar to black holes when it comes to absorbing matter, but they do not generate gravity. No organic material is to come within thirty feet of the cracks at this time without proper psychic protection.
Addendum XXXX-05: After new cracks opened at SCP-XXXX's new containment chamber, all four guards were equipped with psychic protection equipment.
Incident Log 008: Psychic protection is no longer effective. All four guards were liquified after being drawn to the cracks. The process took 68 hours and changed their bodies into a new form before they were liquified. The liquid has become pitch black and works like acid.
