Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a standard secure storage locker at site 23. SCP-XXXX-1 is to be contained within a biologically viable cryogenic storage unit pending further investigation and testing. SCP-XXXX-6 is to be kept separate from SCP-XXXX and secured within a small reinforced safe. Level 3 clearance is required to remove SCP-XXXX-6 for testing.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a grey backpack with a volume of 25 litres that contains several objects (Designated as SCP-XXXX-2 through SCP-XXXX-6). SCP-XXXX was recovered from a police station in ██████████, Canada following the recovery of an unidentified body (Hereby referenced as SCP-XXXX-1) by local authorities following reports of anomalous activity. The existence of SCP-XXXX and all related materials was brought to the attention of embedded agents following the autopsy of SCP-XXXX-1 and the admission of SCP-XXXX into storage. All non-foundation records of SCP-XXXX were wiped following recovery, and all non-foundation personnel were issued class B amnestics.
SCP-XXXX-1 is the corpse of an unidentified male. An autopsy by foundation researches has determined the cause of death as asphyxiation, though many other injuries were noted. The most prominent injuries are the rupturing of both lungs, residual ice crystals in the bloodstream, and the rupturing of several blood vessels in areas of soft tissue; most notably in the eardrums and the eyes.
SCP-XXXX-2 is a grey jumpsuit made of synthetic fibre. It appears to have several sensors embedded into the lining, though these were disabled upon recovery and attempts to re-enable them have been unsuccessful. The measurements of the jumpsuit indicate that it would have been sized appropriately for SCP-XXXX-1.
SCP-XXXX-3 is an earpiece radio. All components are self-contained, so no wires must be run to a control unit as is common in modern designs. Despite deconstruction and analysis of SCP-XXXX-3 no connections to any current patents could be made. The circuitry seems to be of advanced design, and estimations of technological growth (Such as Moore’s Law1) place the approximate creation of the earpiece in the year 2420. The manufacturer remains unknown.
SCP-XXXX-4 is a cardboard box containing a breath mask that covers the nose and mouth as well as a small blue tank. Upon analysis the blue tank was found to contain oxygen at a pressure of 303 kilopascals, with a release pressure of 21 kilopascals.
SCP-XXXX-5 is a handheld computing device with approximate dimensions of 15x1x1cm when deactivated. When activated the device projects a holographic display with the dimensions of 15x10cm. The display can be navigated via standard touch screen controls, such as tapping and scrolling. All text displayed by the device is of an unknown language yet to be deciphered by foundation personnel. Despite this many of the functions have been decoded as the device follows standard user interface conventions. All discovered functions of SCP-XXXX-5 are listed below.
A clock
A note keeping function
An email or SMS function
A flashlight
SCP-XXXX-6 is an identification card written in the same language displayed on SCP-XXXX-5. The card has a base material of an unidentified plastic compound coated in 10 carat gold leaf. The front of the card displays many details presumed to be name, rank, DoB and other common information. The picture on the card does not match SCP-XXXX-1. The back of the card has a black stripe running its length, identified as an electromagnetic strip similar to modern designs. The back also has many coloured squares, the significance of which is unknown. The hexadecimal codes of the squares are listed in addendum 1.
The true anomalous properties of SCP-XXXX manifest when SCP-XXXX-6 is used on any card reader linked to a door or similar portal of entry. Regardless of programmed security protocols the side of the door closest to the key card will open, though an opaque blue mist obscures vision to the other side. The side of the door that was furthest away from the key card will remain shut, and any attempts to open said door will fail while the anomaly is manifested.
Entry into the anomaly will transport the entrant to a partially destroyed space station in an unknown location. Several pictures of the surrounding stars were taken during test C, though these have yet to be lined up with current constellations. TBC
