Item SCP-5374 is to be kept in a heavily reinforced heat resistant container which is to be unlocked under no circumstances. Heat inside the chamber is to be monitored and regulated on a daily basis as to avoid melting the door locks. SCP-5374 is believed to be an ancient demonic presence that has terrorized the world since modern history began. It appears to be a humanoid figure that displays signs of malnutrition and several of its features have been altered due to what appears to be physical trauma. Things to note are its abnormally long fingers and its jaw which appears to have been partially destroyed. It seems that it’s genocidal tendencies are somehow fueled by the hate and aggression displayed by mankind over the years. The more hatred expressed by humans, the stronger SCP-5374 becomes. Its power is channeled into some form of heat or energy, which was discovered from a previous experience at Site-43 where it generated a temperature of 80,000°F.

It will attack its victims by controlling the mind of its victim to draw them towards it. Once it is within range, SCP-5374 will place its hands on its victim and begin to reduce the victim to a pile of smoldering ashes. It will then use the ashes to form a pentagram and engulf a 50 foot radius in fire before fleeing into the smoke.

Although most of SCP-5374’s speech is unintelligible, it has been quoted on a few occasions repeating the phrase: “I am the embodiment of your sins.” It is often seen pacing the east wall where it has gathered parts from its victims into some sort of shrine or offering.
