Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is currently placed in Site 19's on-site kitchen, and is used primarily as a cutting board for preparation of various foods. SCP-XXXX has not sustained additional damage under the supervision of Site 19's food service staff. All requests for testing and/or long-term displacement must be submitted to and approved by Site 19's facility manager.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a moderately large marble slab weighing approximately 25 kilograms (when not in contact with personnel or equipment). SCP-XXXX is polished, light grey, with multiple streaks of white, and is indiscernible from an average marble slab when viewed. SCP-XXXX is 40cm x 30cm x 8cm with multiple small fissures, divots, and chips of varying depths and unknown origin, possibly from environmental damage, erosion, or gained at a time before SCP-XXXX became anomalous, if such existed.
When attempting to interact with SCP-XXXX "directly" (ex. hands, handheld tools), it instantly gains an indeterminate weight and density1, making it impossible to lift, damage, or move in any way. Interacting with SCP-XXXX with indirect means (ex. remotely-controlled drones/robots) causes none of the previously described anomalous effects. The way SCP-XXXX dicerns direct from indirect means of interacting with it is currently unknown, as tests have proved inconclusive (see Addundum XXXX-2).
Addendum XXXX-1: SCP-XXXX Recovery
SCP-XXXX was recovered from a boardwalk attraction in Wildwood, New Jersey, where it was placed on a wooden pedestal. On the pedestal was a gold-plated bronze plaque that read as follows;
A Challenge
Strongmen gather close!
You are weak in the face of this stone!
Attempt to lift and find it swift,
your frailty be wide-known!
The plaque is currently held in Site-19's non-anomalous storage.
Addendum XXXX-2: Dr. L Test Log
Test #1: Dr. L used a remote-controlled drone to lift SCP-XXXX.
Results: SCP-XXXX was moved with no difficulty.
Test #2: Dr. L used a remote-controlled drone to lift SCP-XXXX and place it upon a pneumatic car jack.
Results: Dr. L was unable to maneuver the lever arm of the car jack in order to lift SCP-XXXX.
Note: Let it be known that although unable to lift SCP-XXXX with the jack, I was similarly incapable of depressurizing the jack to allow SCP-XXXX to fall. This should have been easy, considering gravity, and the control test we did beforehand.
Test #3: Dr. L used a remote-controlled drone to lift SCP-XXXX and drop it a distance of approximately 25 cm into the arms of D-XXXX, whom was capable of lifting up to 70 Kg in previous non-anomalous testing.
Results: As SCP-XXXX landed in D-XXXX's arms, he expressed difficulty in lifting SCP-XXXX any further and quickly became exasperated, attempting to drop SCP-XXXX onto the prepared cushion. It quickly became apparent that D-XXXX's arms were firmly suspended in the air, as was SCP-XXXX. SCP-XXXX and D-XXXX's arms were inseparable and immovable, until a remote-controlled drone retrieved SCP-XXXX with no complication.
Test #4: Dr. L used a remote-controlled drone to try and lift SCP-XXXX, with a 65 kg weight placed on it, off the ground.
**Results: ** The remote-controlled drone was incapable of lifting the combined 90 kg of weight.
Test #5: Dr. L used a remote-controlled drone to lift SCP-XXXX approximately 50 cm above the ground. She subsequently stepped onto the hovering SCP-XXXX.
