SCP-XXXX in containment

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a standard metal box 1 meter in diameter at Site-77. Any attempt to supply SCP-XXXX with power or damage components of SCP-XXXX without authorization is strictly prohibited and will result in a demotion.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a heavy duty orange extension cord that measures 30.48 meters in length and is compatible with a standard American outlet. Attempts to find a manufacturer were unsuccessful and further inspection of SCP-XXXX shows no anomalous components within SCP-XXXX.
Despite its original length; SCP-XXXX when plugged in, is capable of extending itself to its needed length to reach its victim and has been observed to retract when SCP-XXXX is unplugged from it's power source.

Upon plugging in SCP-XXXX to an active outlet or power source that is compatible, SCP-XXXX will become animate and hostile, attempting to find and kill the nearest subject. SCP-XXXX has been observed to only target subjects of Homo Sapien descent. SCP-XXXX’s primary method of attack is strangulation of the neck though SCP-XXXX has also been observed to use its prongs to electrocute its victims, SCP-XXXX will continue its attacks until the Subject has successfully fled or is Deceased. Unplugging SCP-XXXX renders it to become inanimate an no longer Hostile.

Subjects who have been attacked by SCP-XXXX have reported that SCP-XXXX have tried to speak with the subjects while it attempted to kill them. Claiming that SCP-XXXX had telepathically send the subjects death threats. Subjects asked to repeat the death threats from SCP-XXXX were unable to, claiming that they were "unbelievably vulgar and indescribable." Two D-Classes, D-████, and D-████ spontaneously vomited when asked this question. More research is needed to determine if this is a result to an anomalous property or of phycological damage.

Discovery: SCP-XXXX Was found at a construction site in ███████ Montana by local police along with four bodies that belonged to construction workers that were at the site during SCP-XXXX's attack. While trying to contain SCP-XXXX, a member of the MTF sent to contain SCP-XXXX was severely injured and suffered electrical burns. All witnesses were administered Class-A amnestic and a coverup for the deaths of the construction workers was made.

Addendum:Though the research to find SCP-XXXX's manufacturer were unsuccessful, investigations to find the origin of SCP-XXXX proved more beneficial as SCP-XXXX's history was traced by purchase logs and stock catalogs kept by ███████ Home Depot. The Manager of the store allegedly reporting that there was an extra power cord after a routine check on inventory. Further investigation showed that an employee Named ███ found SCP-XXXX in the paint aisle. Upon further questioning ███, He stated that he had Mistaken SCP-XXXX for another power cord as he said there was a price tag on it and that he simply put it back onto it's designated shelf. ███ then went to explain that before he went to put SCP-XXXX back to it's shelf, he saw a suspicious individual put SCP-XXXX in the paint aisle. Footage at the time was unavailable.
