Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be contained in a dedicated 1x1x1 meter thermal-resistant alloy chamber equipped with constant connection to an electric current.
SCP-XXXX requires a constant power supply of 240 volts at 50Hz for safe containment. Its containment chamber must always be connected to the facilities main power supply, accompanied by two (2) backup generators dedicated to SCP-XXXX. These generators must be examined for damages every 12 hours on rotation.
While in transport SCP-XXXX must stay within its containment and be accompanied by two (2) backup generators.
Any personnel interacting with SCP-XXXX must have the approval of two (2) level three (3) security clearance personnel or higher and must wear full environmental protection suits equipped with a heat supplier. Any personnel attempting to move SCP-XXXX must have clearance by two (2) level four (4) security officers or higher.
If SCP-XXXX's containment chamber loses access to mains power, and both backup generators fail, or if SCP-XXXX's containment chamber shows signs of a breach, all surrounding areas are required to enter a level 2 lockdown and an on-site repair team must be deployed.
Description:
SCP-XXXX (Henceforth XXXX) is a ██████████ branded wall mounted air conditioned with the model number ███████, serial number ██████████, and manufacture date of 08/02/19██. It has an aluminium casing in the dimensions of 560x668x375mm and weighs 8.63Kg. Attempts to trace the manufacturing and sale of this unit by the serial number has led to inconsistencies within the manufacturers database.
SCP-XXXX exists within two states henceforth, XXXX-1 and XXXX-2. XXXX-1 is the most common, and safest state and exists while it is supplied with power, while XXXX-2 Is its activated anomalous state once power has been lost.
While plugged in and supplied with stable, constant power, XXXX-1 functions as a normal ██████████ air conditioner. When XXXX undergoes a complete loss of power it changes states to XXXX-2 and begins to absorb all known types of energy from the surrounding environment. Any attempts to return XXXX-2 to its initial state (XXXX-1) after it has lost power have resulted in failure, and the death of █ D-class subjects.
SCP-XXXX Can and is used in the testing and research of other anomalous entities studied by the foundation, namely SCP-████ with the aid of Dr █████, and SCP-009 to find if XXXX could be used to [Redacted].
All attempts to open and examine XXXX have ended with almost instantaneous death to all living subjects (Including 4 D-Class Personnel and Dr █████████), as well as malfunction to any machines attempting to interact with XXXX.
The only known way to return SCP-XXXX-2 to SCP-XXXX-1 is by reinitiating the supply of electricity into XXXX's containment. Once power is resupplied XXXX-2 returns to XXXX-1 immediately and all effects are halted.
Addendum: Circumstances of Retrieval: SCP-XXXX Gained the attention of foundation personnel on 16/11/20██ after police in ███████ Australia found █ officers dead due to hypothermia while investigating the death of █ other hypothermia victims.
SCP-XXXX was captured by MTF [Redacted] within 24 hours of discovery and taken to Site-██.

- D-Class showed no signs of distress or hesitance.

- SCP-XXXX-2 began to absorb energy, resulting in the death of D-████ within 2 seconds of the beginning of the reaction.

After the loss of [Redacted] D-Class personnel during the testing of SCP-XXXX, Live animals were found to be an easier alternative to study the effects of SCP-XXXX.
Addendum: Incident Report 14/09/20██
Whilst being transported by plane from temporary storage at Site-██ to research and containment at Site-██ power was lost to SCP—XXXX. SCP-XXXX-2 began to rip energy from the plane resulting in the plane diving into freefall, impacting in █████████ USA.
The Post-Mortem report found that all crew members had died before the impact.
The surrounding farmland was cordoned off by MTF Squadron [Redacted] and SCP-XXXX was recovered and contained before being transported to the closest facility (Site-██) where SCP-XXXX would stay for evaluation by a team of level-4 security officers.
