"The King"

SCP Sapience: Above average, malevolent. Signs of SCP connection: Delusional state of mind, mental speed increase, lowered verbal abilities, increased hostility.

Containment procedures:

SCP-4973 is to be kept isolated in the central room of Site-███, within a specialized glass-alloy casing. All knowledge of Site-███ and SCP-4973 is to be kept at a minimum, with unauthorized personnel to be put under grade-2 amnestics, as well as be put under surveillance for a period of 288 hours. Entry into SCP-4973's containment area is to be limited to only those with direct authorization. Anyone who attempts to do this without proper authorization is to be immediately terminated. SCP-4973 will rarely try to escape the facility on foot, and will attempt to use a vehicle if at all possible. All Vehicles exiting and entering Site-███ are to be monitored.

SCP-4973 is a black chess piece, more accurately a Black king. It's size shape or other features are otherwise unnoteworthy, with the exception of being described as crimson when it is active. The set it was contained with was discovered 5 miles from the town of ██████ in upper Montana, coming to the foundation's radar when it's shape was made using the blood of ██████ at the scene of what what was assumed to be a murder. All other pieces to the set have been analyzed, none present any anomalous properties as of the current date and are classified as SCP-4973-1 through SCP-4973-15.

SCP-4973 was originally classified among the other pieces, however during a game of chess, the D-Class, SCP-4973-A, who was using the black set began to act reportedly act more hostile, and began to become more violent in how they played with the pieces. Following the report, the entirety of SCP-4973's set went under another set of testing, and SCP-4973 itself was located.
Notable reports of SCP-4973 include SCP-4973-G and SCP-4973-O's reports of "Voices in their head, voices that belonged to their shadow."
SCP-4973's original containment facility consisted of nothing more than a glass case, however due to repeated attempts on the part of SCP-4973 to convince other to cause mass destruction and thousands of containment breaches, SCP-4973 was moved to its current facility.

SCP-4973 has on multiple occasions attempted contact with foundation staff, sometimes acting as "the devil on their shoulder", so to speak. SCP-4973 seems to prefer to be referred to in male terminology, and seems to require no name, preferring to be named more anonymous terms in place of a name. All information on interactions with SCP-4973 seem to point to it being an inter-dimensional entity, with a goal of devastation to whatever or whomever it pleases. SCP-4973 claims to know the true names of three members of the O5 Council, however the claims have yet to be confirmed.
