Special Containment Procedures: SCP-xxxx is to be kept in a standard locker located on Site-64. The locker is to be kept locked at all times. SCP-xxxx is only to be removed for testing by an individual outside the age range affected by SCP-xxxx or that has any form of non heart related health condition and is to be supervised by a level 2 researcher or higher.
Description: SCP-xxxx is a standard stopwatch manufactured by ████████ with the model matching one produced in 1982. It appears to not have suffered significant damage but does show signs of minor cosmetic wear on the back. When an individual comes into contact with SCP-xxxx they will feel a strong desire to activate the timer. Once the individual activates SCP-xxxx a number of events will transpire over time.
Five minutes after activation the subject’s heart rate will begin to increase at a rate similar to an athlete beginning a workout with an emphasis on cardio. When another 5 minutes passes subjects describe the feeling of a burning sensation in the calves and thighs. While in a standard workout this feeling is attributed to the build up of lactic acid, studies have shown no lactic acid build up during this stage. Once the stopwatch reaches the fifteen minute mark the burning sensation will move to the entire body with the legs suffering the most intensity.
It appears that once the fifteen minute mark is reached the subject will not go under any change for another fifteen minutes. Subjects will experience these symptoms even if no movement is made. When thirty minutes is reached the heart rate stops at 200 BPM but the burning sensation will continue to escalate. These symptoms will steadily intensify until either the subject is deceased due to exhaustion or SCP-xxxx is removed from the subject. Subjects affected by the object will be unable to acknowledge any need of help, even when distress is visible. Refusal to let go of SCP-xxxx or stop the timer will also occur.
When SCP-xxxx is removed from the affected subject, the subject’s symptoms will cease and the timer will reset. Any individual that removes SCP-xxxx from the subject, that is in the age range and is physically healthy, will have the same desire to activate the object. (See incident report xxxx-01).
Experiment xxxx-01: D-4763 was led into a room with SCP-xxxx on the table. He was instructed to activate SCP-xxxx.

Results: Once D-4763 activated SCP-xxxx his symptoms continued to worsen until he expired approximately 123 minutes after activation.
Experiment xxxx-02: D-4587 was led into a room with SCP-xxxx on a table and was then instructed to activate SCP-xxxx.

Results: Once D-4763 activated SCP-xxxx his symptoms worsened until he expired 53 minutes after activation of SCP-xxxx.
Addendum xxxx-01: Research into SCP-xxxx anomalous properties have encountered an interesting discovery. SCP-xxxx appears to only affect subjects that are in the age range of 20 to 35. This was discovered after two D-Class, that were the ages of 19 and 36, failed to activate the timer. Although these D-Class were unable to activate SCP-xxxx they described a feeling of unease while in possession of the object. Observations have concluded that each affected subject’s results slightly differ based on their own stamina.
Experiment xxxx-01: D-2865 was led into a small room with SCP-xxxx on the table. D-2865 was instructed to attempt to activate SCP-xxxx.

Results: D-2865 attempted to activate SCP-xxxx, the timer did not start. D-2865 reported the sense of unease while holding SCP-xxxx.
Experiment xxxx-02: D-3546 was led into a room with SCP-xxxx on the table. D-3546 was instructed to activate the object.

Health Condition: Congestive Heart Failure.
Results: Once D-3546 attempted to activate SCP-xxxx she immediately collapsed to the floor with all life functions ceasing. Testing later showed that complete organ failure occurred at the moment of attempted activation. It was also observed that the heart suffered extensively more damage than the other vital organs.
Experiment xxxx-03: D-3079 was led into a room with SCP-xxxx on the table. D-3079 was instructed to activate the object.

Height: 180 Centimeters.
Weight: 99 Kilograms.
Health Condition: Heart Arrhythmia.
Results: D-3079 attempted to activate SCP-xxxx. Once attempted activation occurred D-3079 collapsed to the floor with all life functions ceasing. Testing showed similar results to D-3546, with complete organ failure and extensive damage to the heart at the moment of activation.
Addendum xxxx-02: Studies have shown that subjects exposed to SCP-xxxx and are in the age range, will not experience the anomalous effects if they suffer from any form of illness. However if a subject suffers from any form of heart condition, all life functions will cease upon activation of SCP-xxxx.
Incident xxxx-01: Two D Class were sent into a room with SCP-xxxx. D-385 was instructed to activate SCP-xxxx. Once the object was activated, the symptoms caused by SCP-xxxx affected D-385 for approximately 32 minutes until D-438 took it upon himself to remove the object from D-385’s grasp. Once D-438 removed SCP-xxxx from D-385 he activated it without hesitation and expired approximately 91 minutes later.
