SCP-5267 at the time of initial recovery, analysis has shown that drawings and photographs of SCP-5267 have no anomalous effects.

SCP-5267 is currently locked in a small safe in storage site 13. It shall not be taken out of this safe without the explicit permission of class 4 personnel and shall only be taken out for experiments.

DESCRIPTION:
SCP-5267 is a blue-tinted titanium aura quartz crystal, it was discovered at the [REDACTED] Museum in [REDACTED], Nevada. Discussion with the owner has revealed that the crystal was found in a mine in [REDACTED] Chile. Reports originally came in of people having an avid interest in SCP-5267, despite its rather mundane looks. People ended up coming in just to see the crystal and beg to hold it. The foundation came in and bought the crystal from the museum.
The main anomalous property of SCP-5267 is its psychological impact on any subject that directly views SCP-5267. SCP-5267 has the ability to release endorphins in the brain from any subject that touches or interacts with SCP-5267. Starting with a small release, giving any user the assumption that the crystal is much more clear and beautiful than it actually is, attempting to lure any subjects to touch it. Once said subject touches SCP-5267, it starts to release endorphins into the brain, This gives the subject a feeling of euphoria. Over a certain period of time, the amount of endorphins released into the subject’s brain exponentially increases until they eventually go into a psychotic state and die. This puts a massive amount of psychological trauma on any subject that views and interacts with it for prolonged periods of time as they go through a “high” of sorts, feeling the same effects as a high from most narcotics, but as exposure to it prolongs, it releases more endorphins than the brain actually has stored. At this point, SCP-5267 starts to decay the subject’s brain and molecular structure and turn the brain matter into endorphins. The subject becomes paralyzed and dies shortly after this point.
ADDENDUM 1: most of the information about this SCP’s anomalous properties were discovered when a D-Class was given the crystal while in a CATSCAN machine. Before this, the anomalous properties of SCP-5267 were not truly known at the time. During this experiment, 4 scientists had direct visual contact with SCP-5267 and 1 scientist who handed SCP-5267 to the D-Class had direct visual and physical contact with it. Because of this, we learned one of the side effects of SCP-5267. Just like any other narcotic, people who have interacted with SCP-5267 and were removed from the environment gained an addiction to SCP-5267. all scientists that directly worked with SCP-5267 report a large fondness to it. Scientists and MTF’s have been going out of thier way to interact with it. Anyone suspicious of this should be interrogated and relocated to a different area. You should’ve seen what it did to that fucking subject… I know he’s D-Class but… we can’t let anyone else have contact with that fucking thing…
Addendum 2: due to recent investigations into the crystals origins and the test results on D-925303, all experiments on SCP-5267 have been indefinitely restricted. Also due to the amount of unknowns in the effects that SCP-5267 has on the human mind, the object class has been updated to Euclid, SCP-5267 shall, under no circumstances, leave its containment. Anyone who attempts to do so will be given amnestics.
