Special Containment Procedures: SCP 5196 must be kept in a 10mX10mX10m airtight room at site 19 kept at 150 degrees Celsius to keep SCP 5196 in a liquid state.

SCP 5196 prior to containment

Description: SCP 5196 is a liquid substance that is the same as H2O except with a freezing temperature of 100 degrees Celsius and a boiling temperature of 500 degrees Celsius. SCP 5196 has no anomalous properties unless in solid state.

In solid state SCP 5196 will begin to quickly freeze any solid or liquid matter it touches. The freezing effect depends on the size and temperature of the object or liquid. Living subjects seem to freeze the fastest. A average human at normal body temperature will freeze in approximately 5 seconds.¹
