Item #: SCP-5127
Object Class: Safe
Addendum: [██/██/200█: SCP-5127 has been reclassified as safe, due to no anomalous event happening in the ██ years it has been in the SCP foundations care.]
Special Containment Procedures: [SCP-5127 is to be staffed by at least two Level 3 foundation personnel at all times, along with a small team of MTF Soldiers. The SCP is to be fitted with up to date communications and location devices and is to remain in constant radio contact with Site 15. The reactor of SCP-5127 must never be allowed to reach peak operating limit. In the event of a ███████ ██████ ███████, or loss of communication with land, the SCP is to remain hidden 700m underwater until the event terminates or communication can be reestablished.]
Description: [SCP-5127 is a Typhoon class soviet ballistic missile submarine with the ability to transport itself through time, without any input from the crew. It is believed to do this because of its experimental ██-█████ class nuclear reactor, which was involved in a highly secretive experiment by the soviet union to test new systems within. It is stated that as soon as the test was initiated, the submarine lost contact with the surface fleet, and disappeared from the sonar on all surrounding vessels. The event was quickly listed as a total loss, with the sinking of the Kursk being to cover up the experiment.
SCP-5127 came into the hands of the SCP foundation after numerous vessels within the vicinity of ███████, ███████ reported seeing a typhoon class submarine on the surface, and repeated attempts to establish radio contact was met with frantic Russian speaking. The foundation was made aware of the situation and dispatched an MTF team to requisition the submarine. Upon gaining control of SCP-5127, researchers interrogated the officers, who promptly told them of the failed experiment and its intentions. The entire crew is to be listed as SCP-5127-1.
The enlisted crew of SCP-5127 had not been told what the experiment was, were kept in the dark by their officers until the SCP foundation seized the vessel, informing SCP-5127-1 that the year was ████, but not telling them of anything that had happened since their dissaperence, for fear of mutiny. The further question of SCP-5127-1 officers revealed that, as soon as the reactor reached peak operating limit, they lost contact with the fleet, and promptly surfaced, only to find that they were ███ miles of the coast of the United States. An attempt at radio contact with a passing freighter led to pandemonium in the control center, as when the freighter stated that the year was ████, and that they were in U.S waters, the crew demanded to know what was going on. If not for the captain shooting the political commissar, there would have likely been a mutiny.
There was a standoff as the MTF team was taking control of the ship, because half the crew barricaded themselves in the reactor control compartment with AK-47s, and it was only because of the captain convincing his men to come out that avoided a shooting confrontation. The two level 3 person act as defacto admirals of the 1 ship fleet, and are there to insure continued adherence to containment procedures.]
