Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedure: SCP-XXXX is secured within a vacuum chamber inside a 4 (four) layered ⅝" (or 1.6 cm) drywall-insulated container. No personnel below Level 2 are allowed within the limited distance of 20 meters from the containment room and cannot interact with SCP-XXXX without an authorization written and signed by 2 (two) Level 4 Administrators.

Authorized personnel must be escorted by 2 (two) Level 3 Security Officers and wear earplugs while inside the limited distance from the containment room. No personnel is allowed to speak inside that limit or near SCP-XXXX.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a tape recorder with amnestic properties built and programmed in 1985 (date not confirmed) by Dr. █████ (deceased), a professor on electronic engineering and computer science from the University of ████████.

The coded program is an AI which has selective voice recognition, being able to identify, isolate and trace different words into concepts using deep neural networks. When the AI completes its concept recognition, the concept that was discussed is erased or eliminated from the speakers and listeners mind. This AI is active at all times and constantly analyzing sounds through the neural networks.

SCP-XXXX contains a ‘record’, ‘rewind’, ‘fast forward’, ‘stop/eject’, and ‘play’ button. All buttons except the ‘rewind’ and ‘fast forward’ buttons are operable. When the ‘record’ button is operated, the AI will gather and store all the information from the concept or concepts the subjects were discussing into its physical memory. After the concepts were stored, any subject or subjects that operate the ‘play’ button or are located near SCP-XXXX will listen to a 70 dB sound during a time period of 5 seconds. After that sound is played, all listeners of that sound will receive all the information about the concept or concepts that were discussed on the recordings, limited by the amount of information known by the subject or subjects that were recorded. Whether the information about the concepts is factual or not has no relevance on the storage or playback.

Attempts on placing a tape and operate SCP-XXXX’s functions were failed and no tape is needed for the concept elimination function, or the storage of those concepts.

Tests conducted on Class D personnel with SCP-XXXX indicate that concept elimination occurs when a series of linked-concept words are spoken between 50 dBs to 65 dBs and from 85 Hz to 255 Hz. Every recorded attempt on termination, limitation on functionality and physical capability ended with multiple class D personnel affected with acute lung damage, ruptured eardrums, and severe cerebral damage. These effects are caused by the SCP-XXXX´s defense mechanism, which produces a sound escalating from 185 up to 200 dBs, causing long-term damage to the receiver.
