Containment procedures:
Due to the nature of the nature of SCP-XXXX, containment is both impossible and unnecessary. Even if containment were possible, it would be to the detriment of mankind, as SCP-XXXX has positive effects on the population. To this extent, constant monitoring as to the location of SCP-XXXX-1 should be maintained.

Description:
SCP-XXXX comprises an entity, SCP-XXXX-1, and several billion instances of SCP-XXXX-2. Both are incorporeal, able to pass through matter as though it were in a gaseous state. The means of this is undetermined, although it may be due to its nature as energy.

SCP-XXXX-1 is a ball of pale yellow light, similar to that of a candle flame, being roughly 10 centimeters in diameter. It floats roughly one meter off the ground and is completely invisible to the human eye, visible only to cameras and other visual recording devices. No heat is emitted from the light, despite producing 62.85 lumens or 5 candela of light. The ball moves directly towards any newborn baby which has not yet received an SCP-XXXX-2 instance at a rate of travel sufficient to arrive within twenty minutes of birth. Once SCP-XXXX-1 has arrived at the sight of the birth, it will produce an smaller orb of light, a SCP-XXXX-2 instance. The instance of SCP-XXXX-2 will then slowly float towards the infant and pass into its skull where it will stay until either certain conditions are met or the human dies. SCP-XXXX-2 instances are smaller than SCP-XXXX-1, being roughly 2 millimeters in diameter and giving off roughly .15 lumens of light. They are still invisible to the human eye but once inside a humans skull, the rye color of the individual subtlety changes to be brighter than it was originally. This is believed to be a side effect of the anomalous properties of SCP-XXXX-2. The main effect of SCP-XXXX-2 is to provide "hope" to the individual. This is proportional to the brightness of the SCP-XXXX-2 instance.

Addendum XXXX-A:

The exact reason for the departure of a SCP-XXXX-2 instance from a person is due to some traumatic or otherwise despair inducing event which causes the subject to "lose hope," be that in humanity, themselves, the world, or some other thing of significant importance.

Documentation of the return of SCP-XXXX-2 instances is as of yet in spite of numerous recorded cases of news the subject has described as "filling them with hope." Investigation into this is ongoing
