  • Antarctic outpost made during the mid to late Devonian period. Seems to have been a trading hub. First reported as two pillars made of obsidian forming a gate like structure. Later scans for more material found the rest of the complex connected by a 3 cubit/4 cubit/5 cubit tunnel approximately 1 roman mile away, in an unnaturally raised section of ice. Under the ice, the remnants of what looks like a small settlement are found. This settlement appears frozen in time, with residents frozen in place. Autopsy shows residents are part of a strictly hierarchical caste system. Glyphs found in the ruins superficially resemble those found in SCP 5052, but have different effects. These glyphs have no immediate effect, however they instill a desire to "Preserve history". Notably, the history those affected wish to protect is of a monarchical or oligarchic nature, such as mummies of Pharaohs or Records of roman emperors. The first exploration found a small device which has runes relating to the symbol of time. It was taken away from the site, and after study, was found to be from just before the preservation event occurred. The location of the site as a place of significance was first reported by a text found in the tomb of Rameses the II, which documents a traveler from a foreign land with strange ideas who was cast out after trying to warn the Pharaoh to "beware the ravages of time, for your rule is not eternal", leaving behind only a piece of cloth found with the mummy which matched the material used in the robes of the uppermost caste, untouched by time. Theme of history and legacy in the face of time prevalent.
