Dr. M███████: Please state your name for the record.

SCP-XXXX: I told you already my name is Captain Duke Quasar!

Dr. M███████: Yes we just weren't expecting you to be totally coherent so soon after you umm… awoke.

D-XXXX-04: Jesus it's like, you know that feeling you get when you're somewhere you're supposed to be? Well maybe you don't but it feels like (pause) like I hopped a fence to a military base or something and there are cameras everywhere. Nothing happens right away but I know a camera or something has seen me and I'm gonna get in trouble.

Dr. M███████: We have not recorded any entities near SCP-XXXX-04 during retrieval, nor have our camera feeds detected anything since the establishment of this monitoring post.

D-XXXX-04: But I still feel it! When I open those drawers everything gets real quiet and I don't even hear a single chirp. I feel like, I dunno all my freaking ancestors are staring at me with disapproval you know? Like I'm doing something really wrong and it's making sure I know it.

Dr. M███████: And has this had any adverse effect on your health?

D-XXXX-04: Gee doc do I look like I've been sleeping well? (pause) I don't even have to go up to it anymore to feel it. I just feel like a [EXPLETIVE] person because of what I did. I guess I already was or what would I be doing here? You're sure there are no consequences for doing this? Like no one's getting whacked or something?

Dr. M███████: Yes I am sure.

D-XXXX-04: [EXPLETIVE]. (quietly) I shouldn't be here. I shouldn't be here.

Dr. M███████: Can you repeat that?

D-XXXX-04: I shouldn't be here! That… thing shouldn't be out here either! Why is it here Doc?

Dr. M███████: I don't know. I don't think we ever will.

Addendum XXXX-C: As of 04/██/20██ Dr. M███████ has been removed as head researcher on SCP-XXXX and reassigned. No further experiments on SCP-XXXX are to be performed.

Addendum XXXX-D: On 06/29/20██, SCP-XXXX-11 was destroyed in a wildfire which, contrary to researchers’ hypothesis, produced no negative effects within the effective range of SCP-XXXX-11 thereafter. It appears that destruction by natural causes brings an end to instances of SCP-XXXX without consequence. Permission to conduct an experimental controlled burn near SCP-XXXX-01's location has been denied with the concern that the intention to destroy SCP-XXXX is what triggers its effects, as observed with SCP-XXXX-09.
