Special Containment Procedures: Due to the properties of SCP-XXXX, containment is currently unattainable. Current Foundation efforts are to be focused on the tracking of SCP-XXXX, and the identification and concealment of SCP-XXXX contact events.

All personnel are to be reminded that SCP-XXXX cannot be damaged by any currently known means, including, but by no means limited to:

Flyswatters, newspapers, batons, hands, or other blunt weapons; firearms or explosives; 'bug zappers' or other electrical devices; pesticides, nerve agents, or other toxic chemicals; starvation, dehydration, or suffocation; or extremely high or low temperatures.

Addendum 1: Due to the events recorded in Field Report XXXX-32, staff must avoid making physical contact with moths at all costs. In the event that any moth lands on staff, such personnel must not move, no matter how slightly, until the moth flies away. Personnel are not to attempt to scare or shoo moths, as this may result in potentially fatal injury.

Addendum 2: Due to the events recorded in Field Report XXXX-43, staff must not attempt to capture SCP-XXXX using any methods. Sighting of what may be SCP-XXXX is to be met with immediate reports to superiors.

Addendum 3: As a result of the events recorded in Event-XXXX-502, during migratory periods for SCP-XXXX all railroad tracks which are crossed by the path of SCP-XXXX must be disabled or shut down. If not possible, sabotage or blocking of railroad tracks is authorized to prevent possible SCP-XXXX collision. As well, aircraft which are flying through the migratory path of SCP-XXXX must be redirected to prevent collision.

Addendum 4: As a result of the events recorded in Field Report XXXX-62, electrical discharge insect control systems (or 'Bug Zappers') are not to be used to attempt to contain or destroy SCP-XXXX. All observation teams must not use or carry such devices during observation of SCP-XXXX.

Addendum 5: All personnel are to be reminded that any interaction with SCP-XXXX can be fatal and destructive.

Description: SCP-XXXX, visually, resembles a Clover Looper moth, Caenurgina crassiuscula, which is identical to other members of the species. No damage is apparent, and signs of aging beyond adulthood are absent, despite the unusually long lifetime of SCP-XXXX (currently, over 15 years of age.) The lack of visual difference compared to other members of the species result in extreme difficulty in tracking.

SCP-XXXX is, against all currently known means, indestructible. In addition, SCP-XXXX appears to be unmovable by external forces. Contact with objects will usually result in extremely destructive events occurring, with no observable damage to SCP-XXXX (see attached reports.)

To date, SCP-XXXX has survived damage which would be sufficient enough to destroy a non-anomalous member of the species, using over ████ different methods, both intentional and unintentional. No method has inflicted any observable damage on SCP-XXXX. These methods include:

  • Physical force in excess of 30,000 KPa
  • Voltages exceeding 2000 V
  • Temperatures exceeding ████° C, and below -███° C
  • Pesticides, toxins, and nerve agents, including DDT, Mercury, Tabun, Sarin, and █████.
  • Starvation and dehydration over the course of 30 days
  • Submersion in water for over 30 minutes
  • Exposure to deadly anomalous objects, including [DATA REDACTED].

In the majority of cases, attempts to damage or capture SCP-XXXX have resulted in the attempt backfiring, or failing, with extreme results. Usage of physical attacks often result in the damage being redirected to the attacker(s). Electrical devices intended to stun or destroy SCP-XXXX will be destroyed upon contact, and will often start fires. Exposure to hazardous anomalous objects such as [DATA EXPUNGED] result in loss of containment and [DATA EXPUNGED].

In addition, SCP-XXXX appears to 'ignore' attempts to capture it. Items such as cages, glasses, steel cases, and [DATA REDACTED] have no effect on SCP-XXXX, as it will breach through the object with no effort.

SCP-XXXX follows a migratory pattern identical to other members of its species, making tracking extremely difficult, and resulting in numerous contact events on an annual basis.

SCP-XXXX does not appear to require sustenance of any kind, as attempts to deprive SCP-XXXX of food and water have shown no change in behavior or apparent health of SCP-XXXX.

Addendum 1: SCP-XXXX has not been seen attempting to reproduce. It is unknown whether this is due to an inability to do so, or rather by choice. Despite this, attempts by SCP-XXXX to reproduce should be responded to with full force, with the O5 council being immediately alerted, and offspring of SCP-XXXX contained or destroyed, if possible.

Addendum 2: For unknown reasons, the destructive anomalous properties of SCP-XXXX have not been known to occur on contact with natural objects (e.g. trees, grass, soil). However, this immunity to the properties of SCP-XXXX appears to be neutralized upon willful manipulation of the object by humans.

Discovery: SCP-XXXX was first discovered during a routine check of unsolved death cases.

In three separate cases in ████████ County, Ontario, Canada, motorists had been killed by an unidentified object (later determined to be SCP-XXXX being struck by the vehicle at high speeds). In all three cases, the motorists had been punctured in some way by a foreign object which showed no signs of resistance or slowing upon collision. The unusual shape of the wounds and the inexplicable damage prompted Foundation investigation.

During the course of the investigation, Agent D████ R████████ was injured in an automobile accident, similar to the aforementioned accidents. As a result of Agent R████████'s report, SCP-XXXX was identified as the cause of the accidents. Police documentation regarding the accidents were altered to eliminate evidence of SCP-XXXX, and was explained as careless use of firearms by local hunters.
