Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4000 should be kept in a very strong and sturdy inanimate object at all times. The object itself should be contained in a 5x5 meter hermetically sealed room. If the object begins to show signs of wear, a new one should be brought in before SCP-4000 manages to leave the chamber.
There should be 1 (one) strong fan facing towards the door of SCP-4000's cell, powered on at all times, to prevent it from escaping when the door is opened.
Description: SCP-4000 appears to be a gas of some kind. It is fully sentient, and can fly around at will, as well as the ability to use normal human senses. However, it has every other property of a gas, meaning it can be pushed around by heavy winds. Upon touching inanimate objects, SCP-4000 will find a pore and seep into the object (which will from this point on be referred to as SCP-4000-1), giving it the mind of itself. What kind of objects SCP-4000 can turn into SCP-4000-1 is not entirely known, but there seems to be a minimum and maximum size, and it cannot possess structural pieces or rooms. After SCP-4000 enters an instance of SCP-4000-1, the only way for it to exit is for considerable physical damage to be done to SCP-4000-1.
Instances of SCP-4000-1 have included, but are not limited to:
- A chair
- A mannequin
- The corpse of D-████
- A grenade
