SCP-XXXX shown in containment

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be contained in a 7 x 7 x 3 meter chamber in Site-██. SCP-XXXX is to be fed standard dry cat food twice daily, and water is to be replenished whenever the bowl is empty. The feeder is required to wear a blind fold when entering containment. If entering SCP-XXXX's containment for any reason, personnel must wear a blindfold or other eye protection. In any instance of anyone making direct eye contact with SCP-XXXX they are to be immediately blindfolded and quarantined, hereby being referred to as SCP-XXXX-1. If any bystanders could have potentially made eye contact with SCP-XXXX-1, they are to be separately quarantined and labeled as SCP-XXXX-2.

Description: SCP-XXXX is an adult male tabby cat named "Murphy1" that appears to be decaying. When direct eye contact is made between a human and SCP-XXXX, a corrosion effect similar to SCP-106's will begin developing and rotting the human from the inside out over the course of three days. This effect will go through three stages, and is not typically noticed in the first stage. The first stage begins the moment the victim has maintained eye contact with SCP-XXXX. The victim's internal organs begin to slowly decay, beginning in the liver. The victim is now referred to as SCP-XXXX-1, and is able to transfer the effect the same way as SCP-XXXX. However, if the effect is transferred from SCP-XXXX-1 to another human, the new victim will decay at doubled speed. The new victim is known as SCP-XXXX-2, and works the same way as SCP-XXXX-1. In stage two, tumors and moldy growths will form on the victim. At this point the victim is now likely to experience intense pain as their body decomposes. At stage three, the victim's organs have rotted, and they are covered in an unknown biological substance. This substance, now called ████████, has similar properties to rust and mold. This effect has been proven not to take place in any other animals so far. The effect will not transfer if eye contact is made with a person that died from the effect. The effect will not transmit through video feed, pictures, or drawings of SCP-XXXX.
