The Onyx Cross
Description: 20cm tall when stood up, 10cm sidearm span. Made of what has been identified as the mineral Onyx, solid black, snake skin pattern covering all surfaces of SCP-XXXX. Approximately 277 years old as identified by carbon dating. Currently there have been no success in harming SCP-XXXX in any way,so far classified as indestructible.
Discovery: SCP-xxxx was discovered during a foundation expedition regarding the [DATA REDACTED] located in Jerusalem, Israel. Reports from locals had been that a cave located on the northeast side of the mountain produced whispers in a currently unidentified language to any who stood at the mouth of the cave and continuing upon entering. 4 foundation field agents were sent to inspect these claims on the date [DATA REDACTED].
A local man guided them to the cave and was immediately terminated upon finding said cave. The agents all reported the same whispers verifying the claims. They proceeded in with but found no light would penetrate past the opening but there night-vision equipment was still effective. The further they went in the louder the whispers got yet still whispers.
After approximately 13 minutes after entering they came upon the end with a single strand of light coming from no verifiable source. A circular stone pillar approximately 3m in height stood at the end with the light shining upon it surrounded by black bone of unidentified horned and winged animals.
Within the top of the pillar was SCP-xxxx seemingly pressed into it shaping the stone around it perfectly. Agent [DATA REDACTED] pulled SCP-xxxx from the pillar due to instructions from the party leader. Upon pulling it from the pillar the light became scarlet and said bones withered into ash. The holder reported that upon the light becoming scarlet he was instantly paralyzed with fear and said all he knew is that this was something very dark and very ancient for a singular black voice told him upon contact with SCP-xxxx in clear English ''as you have ended my slumber so shall
