Item #: SCP-5071
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: All entrances into SCP-5071-A are to be kept locked and monitored by project members through a 24-hour closed-circuit camera system at all times. An examination of the restraints on the entrances must be conducted by Project Manager Prof.___ and other two project members twice a day. In addition, all entrances must be guarded by at least 2 members from MTF Lambda-12 ("Pest Control").
All materials used for locking the entrances to SCP-5071-A must be replaced at the end of a three-week lapse after their installation. In the process of replacing the restraints, there must be no less than four (4) MTF members waiting in stand-by. In case of failure in the process of replacing the restraints due to abnormal equipment malfunction or due to clear interference on the process from SCP-5071-B, two (2) of the MTF members will enter SCP-5071-A, going no further than 3 meters inside, to stand watch in case of a Blackbird-type event.
All entrances are to remain closed at the exception of authorized testing, upon which one (1) of the entrances will be unlocked for the test to be performed. All testing must be authorized by at least two (2) level-4 faculty members assigned to the project, Site Director Dr., or one (1) O-5 member, and all testers are to be accompanied by at least 3 MTF heavy gunners during their stay inside SCP-5071-A.
In addition, all faculty members participating in testing are to wear class-3 standard chemical protection suits. If any of the protection suits should tear or rupture due to SCP-5071-C, faculty members are to undergo detailed physical examination, and if found to present signs of SCP-5071-B infection, are to be terminated on-site. In case of unauthorized entry of any Foundation member, non-lethal force should be used in order to apprehend them. Any demotion to D-Class will be decided by psychiatric staff after an interview with the offender. In the case of a non-Foundation breach to occur, the subject is to be apprehended and released after application of Type-B amnesics. In the case of any SCP-5071-B infections detected, subjects are to be terminated on-site.
All instances of SCP-5071-B that grow outside of SCP-5071-A are to be eliminated by available MTF members on sight, using no less than two (2) flamethrower hand-charges. If there should be any SCP-5071-B infections in flora or fauna surrounding SCP-5071-A, they are to be terminated and taken in for analysis. All growths of SCP-5071-B found during testing inside SCP-5071-A are to be marked and carefully separated from the base they protrude from. In the case of this being of organic nature, termination of both organic material and SCP-5071-B sample is necessary. No samples of SCP-5071-B grown inside SCP-5071-A may be taken for testing without authorization from both Site Director Dr. and Project Manager Prof.___. All samples of SCP-5071-B must be incinerated once testing is finished.
If encountered during testing inside SCP-5071-A, SCP-5071-C is to be left alone, and all members of the testing expedition are to retreat. In case of being tailed by SCP-5071-C, MTF members must stay back, activate their trackers and take an alternative route until they lose sight of SCP-5071-C; only then can they return to the entrance.(due to the Blackbird event on march 2nd,1973, changes in Containment Procedure were ordered by O-5-13) shot on sight until it retreats. Upon SCP-5071-C’s retreat, all faculty members must proceed calmly back to their exit, as the MTF members that accompany them are to make sure SCP-5071-C is not within observable range before reclosing the entrance. In case SCP-5071-C refuses to retreat, MTF members are to cover for faculty members with the usage of Standard issue Heavy anti-machinery rifles. All sightings of SCP-5071-C are to be informed to the Project Manager without delay, and all faculty members who encounter SCP-5071-C are to undergo detailed psychological evaluation at the on-site Ethics Committee office. In case of psychological damage impeding further work on the project, members are allowed to undergo a light amnestics treatment before being given the choice to continue working on the project or being transferred to another site.
Description:
SCP-5071-A is a two story abandoned building in the outskirts of Fairfax, Virginia, that shows limited reality-bending properties, which only manifest once the subject has entered further than three meters inside the structure. All of its outer windows are boarded shut, its outside structure cracked in places, and upon opening any of its outer doors, one will find a seemingly infinite series of carpeted rooms filled with deteriorated furniture.Testing suggests that SCP-5071-A’s reality-bending properties seem to be limited to its insides. It is unclear when SCP-5071-A's reality-bending properties developed. According to the land’s papers, SCP-5071-A was originally built in 1960 as a theatre, which burned down later that same year, killing nine people and leaving three disappearances. In the year the land was bought and reconstructed by an anonymous buyer, but by the end of the reconstruction work, three workers had disappeared. These disappearances were justified with the worker’s alcoholic backgrounds. The building lay abandoned until 1970, the year of Foundation discovery, when seven people disappeared inside. Upon discovery, Foundation testing inside SCP-5071-A began, and proceeded without any issues until the Blackbird event.
SCP-5071-B is a fast-growing flesh-eating fungus found only within SCP-5071-A. It presents an orange coloration, and has been observed to cover entire human bodies within minutes. When inside the outer spaces of SCP-5071-A, the fungus seems to cause malfunctions in machinery, although testing this has been prohibited by Project Manager Prof.___ due to the risk it poses to the integrity of containment procedures. The fungus has also been observed, although rarely, to grow and consume the restraints on the entrances to SCP-5071-A.
SCP-5071-C is an aggressive entity living inside SCP-5071-A. Its body resembles that of a sort of centipede, and it is made up of [REDACTED] cadavers. On its most recent sightings, however, SCP-5071-C has been observed to bear moist skin, and has reportedly left wet tracks in its wake. A sample of this water was recovered after a sighting, and chemical testing proved it to be almost identical to sewer water from the city of Fairfax, containing, however, abnormally high quantities of sulfur and a yet unidentified acidic substance.
Blackbird Event: On March 2nd, 1973, SCP-5071-C escaped containment during an early replacement of the restraints on the entrances, injuring three faculty members and killing two MTF members on its way to Fairfax, the nearest city to its containment site. There, it managed to perform [O-5 RESTRICTED] in The Skyline Towers before recontainment. Due to the effects of SCP-5071-C’s [REDACTED], the structure collapsed later that day, leaving several dead. Many civilians needed amnestic treatments to cover up the incident.
