The Poet of Everything Human

THE POET OF EVERYTHING HUMAN

ITEM # SCP-4253

Object Class: Safe Keter

SPECIAL CONTAINMENT PROCEDURES:
No special containment is required to contain SCP-4253.

Currently, containment efforts are focused on two objectives: developing and implementing cost effective methods to veil SCP-4253’s cranium while still allowing for observation and investigation into the source of SCP-4253’s “tantrums”.

Foundation efforts have, as of yet, failed to produce a material capable of withstanding the abrasive force surrounding SCP-4253. As such, no permanent containment has been devised at this time.

At current, SCP-4253 rests stationary on the pillar it was discovered on, the only object not subject to its anomaly. Site ██ has been built around the location for observation and investigation. The current temporary domed shielding around SCP-4253’s cranium prevents memetic infection to observational staff. The attached rotary microscope must be operated by a D-class before staff are permitted to observe the selected lens. Said D-class must be tested for memetic infection prior to observation by staff.

As of ██/██/██, security staff stationed on watch of the D-class, as well as observational staff, must be vigilant of any movement from SCP-4253. Upon animation of any kind, staff are to vacate the area to a distance of at least 20 m and track the directional heading of SCP-4253. Confirmation of the target of SCP-4253’s movement must be made within █ minutes to prevent public exposure and possible memetic outbreaks.

If the animation event resembles event 4253-1, staff are to vacate the containment chamber and record the time of day, duration of event and intensity of produced sound.

Specialized “sound suits” are to be worn by staff to prevent catastrophic damage to their person in such an event. The containment chamber is now lined with sound absorbing material to prevent damage.

Description:

It is unclear whether the entity SCP-4253 exists in our dimension completely, partially, or exists at all. The only confirmed facts are that an anomaly exists, and the only possible interaction with the anomaly is visual and auditory observation. Physical interaction cannot be made due to resistance by an abrasive force surrounding the anomaly.

For all notations on appearance here-after, it is presumed from visual observation, and cannot be confirmed physically.

Visually, SCP-4253 appears to be a sedentary bipedal humanoid, roughly 185.42 cm in height. The epidermis resembles that of bast fibre, with channel-like cavities across its body. The epidermis is a matte dark brown with mottled blotches of various mixtures of reds, blues, purples, dark greens, blacks, and lighter browns. Of note is the lumen level emanating from SCP-4253. The radiant flux reflected off SCP-4253’s epidermis does not correspond to the brightness of the room, nor the time of day, though repeated sequence of fluctuations in lumen levels does repeat every 2.63 days.

SCP-4253’s upper cranium is distinct, a smooth, reflective black surface composed of a compound eye, elongated anteroposteriorly. Light reflects randomly across the surface of the upper cranium. No lens reflects the surrounding environment completely, if at all. Research is ongoing to determine the exact nature of these reflections. For an itemized list of observed results, see Document 4253-L.

The most pronounced aspect of SCP-4253 is the area surrounding the epidermis, measuring approximately 17 mm perpendicular to all surfaces. The refraction index of this area suggests it is incredibly thick, though entirely transparent. This area is entirely destructive, causing abrasion on an atomic level to anything that passes the threshold. Moving through this space is effortless, but complete atomic separation prevents any realistic attempt to reach the epidermis. Tests to penetrate the area with high powered cutting lasers and other light-based techniques have shown similar results, the particles failing to reach the target. Tests on angles not targeting the epidermis result in a minor amount of penetration, if the area targeted is thin enough.

Observation of matter entering the area under high intensity microscopes show a scattering of particles, eventually disappearing from sight. It is unclear where the matter goes, though current hypotheses are that the matter enters [redacted] suggesting that SCP-4253 exists in ███ ████████ along the finite human curve.

Event 4253-1: On ██/██/██, SCP-4253 began showing signs of extreme pain, while also producing a sound with a pitch over ████ db in strength. This event lasted 10m26s. Containment was heavily damaged by acoustic intensity, though repaired after 25 hours.

Event 4253-2: A second containment breach occurred when SCP-4253 began to animate. Initially emitting a rumbling tone and moving its head as if tracking an unknown object. After 4m53s, it moved from its current position at an incredibly slow walking speed, causing its anomalous effect to affect all obstacles in its way, towards what is assumed to be Christopher Oakes. Oakes, currently being detained for having created SCP-████, was swiftly moved away from the containment area. SCP-4253 took no action against aggression from Foundation staff, though no effort to stop its movement was successful. Movement stopped after Oakes was moved over 100 km away, assumedly out of SCP-4253’s line of sight. SCP-4253 then proceeded to move back to the pillar it was initially situated on, resuming its position. It is unknown at this time why SCP-4253 reacted to the presence of Professor Oakes, but it is theorized it is linked to his invention, which he claims can transport a person into an earlier time.

Addendum 03-11: Junior Researcher Jules showed signs of exposure to an SCP-████ variant after having observed a lens of SCP-4253. Containment procedures are updated to reflect possible anti-observation procedures against the Foundation from alternative █████████.

Addendum 06-16: Following the discovery of SCP-4253, MTF █████████ was created with the purpose of testing for further hidden SCP's inside other works of art. One such statue, Löwenmensch, was found alongside prehistoric paintings in the Hohlenstein-Stadel, a cave in Germany. Depictions of the creature portray it as having wrought destruction. It depicts generations of warriors attempting, and failing, to stop the creature. Each drawing seems to show the creature slowing, until the final depiction, in which it remained in it's current state.
