Project AWAKE

Background Information: Anytime a victim has seen SCP 966 they have not been able to sleep. The only possible way to cause them to “sleep” is by inducing unconsciousness. This usually causes injury to the person or irreversible nervous system complications. With this being in mind the facility should attempt to find a way to get victims of SCP 966 to sleep.

Hypothesis: If we give victims of SCP 966 certain medications, or counsel them, then they will be cured of the insomnia.

Utilities: Psychologists can be messaged and victims of 966 (D-Class) will be able to be counseled. This counseling session may need to be scheduled. Medications that can be used are listed below.

  • -Trazodone
  • -Amitriptyline
  • -Doxepin
  • -Zolpidem Tartrate
  • -Ramelteon
  • -Marijuana
  • -A high dose of melatonin taken daily
  • -More can be added if needed…

Procedure: If you are a researcher ask permission to test on SCP 966. Senior Researchers+ don’t require permission. After getting the necessary permission get a D-Class and two guards to go with you to SCP 966’s CC. Use a thermal camera to allow the SCP 966s to reveal themselves. You may then put the D-Class in for about (50) seconds. Remove the D-Class from the cell safely and escort him to the Biolab. This is where you will accompany the D-Class. Remember he was a victim of SCP 966 so treat him kindly. After a couple minutes give him one of the listed medications and see if he can sleep. Wait about 10-15 minutes to see if the medication works. Write a report with your procedure, findings, and a conclusion. Then send this to me (Dr Joseph A Sievers).

Results Experiment A:

Hypothesis: If we give victims of SCP 966, trazodone, then they will be cured of insomnia.

Procedure: Dr. Rowsdower shadowed me on this test. I gathered a D-Class with no history of insomnia and 2 high level security personnel. We went to the outside of SCP 966’s containment chamber. A thermal scan was done which confirmed SCP 966 was inside his containment chamber. The D-Class was then ordered to walk inside of SCP 966’s containment chamber. While inside the D-Class wasn’t harmed, but was only exposed to SCP 966 for the insomniac effects. The exposure lasted 20 seconds. The exposure was limited to prevent SCP 966 from consuming the D-Class personnel. The D-Class was removed from the cell by security personnel. Post extraction of the D-Class, we performed another thermal scan which showed that SCP 966 was still present in his containment chamber. We then safely, and kindly brought the D-Class to the biolab where 600 mg of trazodone was injected to try to cure the insomnia that every patient exposed to SCP 966 has. The D-Class was returned to the D-Block post experiment. The findings are listed below.

Findings: The D-Class was examined 5 minutes post trazodone exposure and showed no evidence of relief of insomnia. He was restless at this time. At 10 minutes he was examined again and showed the same findings of restlessness. At 20 minutes in he continued to be restless and showed no signs of fatigue or any thought of going to sleep. At 30 minutes the D-Class was not asleep and was still restless, pacing back and forth.

Recapitulation: The medication trazodone proved to be ineffective in curing the subject exposed to SCP 966’s insomnia. The D-Class was returned to the D-Block post experiment.
