SCP XXXX is to be contained within a 6 by 6 meter square glass container at all times. When being transported, the subject will be put in a miniature version of its tailored cell. Games, books, and puzzles are allowed if they follow the specific plan set up by staff. While non-violent, any new personnel are recommended to not interact with this specific entity. They may end up confused, disoriented, or panicked. One authorized individual is encouraged to stay with this creature, and two are required during transportation.

Name & Nature

The SCP in question has been called “Cheshire”, due to its strange disembodied eyes that disappear as soon as they come into view. It also seems to be as curious as a cat, so much so that it considers every movement to be of great interest. It seems to be a life form that favors intelligence.

Description

Cheshire is best described as a mass of floating liquid with two or more eyes. Height is around one meter. The life form may be able to further increase in size. It can change its physical shape to match that of other entities it has laid eyes upon. It can just barely form a human shape. It seems to be able to make itself invisible to others at will. Dr. Warren believes to have seen XXXX warping reality to further accommodate itself, however, this is still under review. This SCP seems to be a fast learner, though where it’s “brain” is located is still being tested.
Note: Cheshire will manifest more eyes depending on the occupants surrounding it or its containment chamber.
Note #2: It appears that Dr. Warren has heard XXXX speak when it first arrived. How it can do this is still under investigation.

Addendum

Incidents

When first arriving at the facility, XXXX attacked a guard by the name of Mr. Davison █████. The guard remained physically unharmed, although he was very confused for an estimated hour. When asked by Dr. Warren and Dr. Hayden why it would do this, it replied that it “wanted to understand how a human body properly operates”. It did not understand why this was considered something to be upset over.
**Note: This incident appears to be why two guards walk with XXXX from now on, despite its assurances and “Safe” status. Depending on the SCP’s future behavior, this class may be altered.

Experiments

Experiment No.1
In this experiment, we sought to comprehend the state of XXXX. More specifically, if it could change its state of matter. It demonstrated being able to transform into a gaseous form, as well as a decently solid form when attempting to shift into a human-like shape. This helped us continue to work on “Cheshire’s” container.

Experiment No.2/Exercise No.2

On X/XX /20XX, the SCP in question was asked if it recalled its origins. Here is the recording of that session provided by Dr. Hayden ████:

• Hayden: Hello XXXX, how are you today?
• Cheshire: Greetings, Dr. Hayden, I am well. And you?
• Hayden: Well, I’m doing perfectly well. If you don’t mind, I’d like to get started with this little exercise, ok?
• Cheshire: I’m all ears.
• Hayden: Do you recall your birth or origin?
• I don’t believe so, although, I do recall blurs of realities much more vivid and strange than the mundane one that you and myself inhabit. Though, I don’t believe I was a part of any of those places.
• Hayden: I see… (audible writing). Well, that’s fine. Do you happen to remember how you you got here, or if you were always here?
• Cheshire: At one point I faintly remember the coldness of infinity, and then the feeling of being pulled whilst floating. Perhaps I have been here since this worlds beginning, or alternatively, I could’ve crash landed like in those humorous UFO stories. I really can’t say. Or maybe I’m lying. Who knows. I guess you and your organization will never really know.
• Hayden: Thank you XXXX, that will be all for today.

Experiment No.3
Since the incident of its first arrival at our facility, Cheshire has come to know of “morality”, as well as human pain. So, while it does not fully understand human feelings, it understands the importance of them in our society. Thus, in place of potential harm to a human employee, we have provided it with medical books containing real pictures of deceased cadavers and their bodily contents. The idea of this experiment was to see if this could be a replacement of the want to possess a human host. The test was mostly a success. It is satisfied with what it has been given, and has been witnessed attempting to shift its form into that of a human figure. It still would prefer to understand the body through living in one itself, though it has promised Dr. Warren that no such thing will happen, unless in the event of being severely harmed.

Place of Finding

SCP XXXX was found in an abandoned quarry close to to the rural area of ████ ██████ County, in ████████, located in the USA. Property owners whose house was near the location where XXXX was found complained of seeing strange, disembodied eyes watching them at night through their window while they slept. No one in the family was found to be harmed. Police Chief █████ ████ contacted The Foundation, so they could infiltrate where “Cheshire” was discovered. The creature was observed by hidden cameras, and then consequently captured by materials made to combat the studied organism. There was no notable resistance during transportation.
**Note: There could still be abnormal activity around ████ ███████ Quarry, and the forest around it. Make sure that any witnesses of what lies within are dealt with properly.
