Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX must be kept in a locked box, away from other anomalies, in a simple on-site storage facility. Requests must be made to 05-Council members prior to any use. Anomalies shown through simulations and extensive tests to be theoretically neutralizable by use of SCP-XXXX, are only to be exposed upon direct 05-Council orders, due to lack of full understanding of the mechanism SCP-XXXX operates.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a small device of unknown origin, currently in the shape of Stephen Hawking, made of an unknown highly magnetic composite material which contains neodymium. It has been shown to withstand almost five tonnes of force without becoming indentated or bent.
It was confiscated from spies of the Chaos Insurgency posing as members of the Global Occult Coalition, following a distress signal made by the GOC. On the body of one of the Insurgency agents, was found several formerly anomalous artifacts, along with SCP-XXXX, which at the time was a five inch diameter sphere. It is believed the artifacts had unknowingly been neutralized as the Insurgency had carried them in close proximity with SCP-XXXX.
SCP-XXXX's primary effect occurs when in close proximity to anomalies of criteria currently unknown. When an anomaly meeting the criteria comes in proximity to SCP-XXXX, it undergoes a period of dampening of whatever properties it held. This process lasts between several minutes and several days, depending upon the size and strength of the properties of the object in question. When this phase ends, the anomaly will undergo one of three outcomes; either it will be from here on neutralized, lose its properties only to regain them after removal from proximity of SCP-XXXX, or the item will, if capable, attempt to flee from SCP-XXXX, sometimes resulting in SCP-XXXX to latch onto the nearest non-anomalous humanoid, resulting in the organism transforming into [DATA EXPUNGED], whereupon it will attempt pursuit. When the process completes, SCP-XXXX will become inert for a period of usually no longer than two weeks, although in some cases if the anomaly being affected is large enough, it may take a month.

SCP-XXXX's secondary effect occurs when it is in close proximity to an anomaly that it cannot affect, or anything which can exert more than five tonnes of force. Upon being placed within five meters of any anomaly it cannot affect or an object capable of damaging it, SCP-XXXX will immediately teleport roughly five kilometers away. It is unknown how it can detect danger, as researchers are unable to prove the mechanisms behind its function.

A tertiary affect has occurred only once. This occurred during an outbreak of a currently unknown anomalous pathogen, which ended when SCP-XXXX had integrated SCP-500. It was later discovered a D-Class personnel had obtained it after merging with SCP-XXXX during a containment breach. It is currently unknown if the primary and secondary properties had always existed, or if they had manifested following integration of other anomalies. Current belief is that the incident was merely an act of self-preservation.

[On 12/15/18, Foundation Staff were alerted to a distress signal originating from one of many GOC facilities designated for the neutralization of anomalous artifacts. Several Mobile Task Force agents were sent to investigate. Their helmets were equipped with audio/visual recording devices. All but one were destroyed during the resulting battle.
10:00 MTF teams enter GOC facility, discovering corpses of members of both GOC and CI. It is at this moment that MTF team splits up to cover more area.
10:15 Several documents are discovered, shredded and burned, possibly a last ditch effort by the GOC to prevent the discovery of specific anomalies designated for destruction.
11:47 No survivors found as of yet, however several unidentified organisms are shot and then incinerated by MTF.
13:21 Five GOC members are discovered severely wounded, claiming to be the only survivors among an estimated 500.
14:52 Two MTF personnel are ambushed and seriously wounded by Insurgency members armed with something akin to energy rifles, Agent Carol B██ hears commotion and rushes to provide assistance. Armed with an assault rifle, Agent Carol fires multiple rounds, killing five CI members.
15:36 Insurgency found retreating. All MTF search for further survivors, administering medical attention to survivors and injured units. Just as further questioning begins, Agent Thomas H███ discovers several artifacts upon one of the corpses of the Insurgency, including SCP-XXXX.
16:24 Additional units requested for on-site investigation and cooperative efforts with GOC arrive.
16:26 Survivors are detained, and quarantined in case of anomalous exposure, as are all involved MTF units.]
