Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is stored in a Light containment room in Site-██, accessible for all staff of clearance level three or higher for use in experiments involving SCP-XXXX, or other SCP experiments that require long distance travel. After the studies revealed the true nature of SCP-XXXX, resulting in its reclassification, SCP-XXXX has been moved to a standard containment room within Site-██, only accessible to staff in relation to testing with SCP-XXXX, and is not to be operated by anyone other than D-Class personnel with approval from Dr ██████, heading the current study project. See Addendum-2 for further information.
Description: SCP-XXXX appears to be a cell like metal box approximately 4 metres by 4 metres by 3 metres, with a reinforced door approximately 10 centimetres in depth both of which appearing to be constructed with an outer layer of steel, covering an inner layer of a lead based polymer, the ratios of which are unknown, contained within appears to be a LED CRT Display system, upon which is presented what appears to be a large modern day map of Earth, which inexplicably responds to touch inputs.
Before containment, SCP-XXXX was found inlayed into the wall at an abandoned warehouse in █████████, coming to foundation attention after activation by civilians who had recently became the owners of the building. (See Incident XXXX-1 and Interview XXXX-1 for further details). Retrieval, handled by Psi-7, who made the incident appear to be a simple construction error, resulting in the destruction of the warehouse. SCP-XXXXs origins in the warehouse are yet unknown to the foundation.
The activation of SCP-XXXX takes place whenever a location is selected on the map, which can be zoomed by a user to the same level as most browser based modern map applications. Upon selecting the point, the reinforced door will engage a lock mechanism, unopenable from both outside and inside SCP-XXXX, and will begin to fill with a gas yet unknown to the foundation, and the user, henceforth referred to as SCP-XXXX-1, after approximately twelve seconds have passed, SCP-XXXX-1 will be located at the selected point an entity of SCP-XXXX-2 will be located at the selected point (See Addendum-2 for further information)
After activation, SCP-XXXX will display on its CRT screen will show a large red ‘X’ for approximately 12 hours. During this time, it appears that SCP-XXXX updates its map (See Incident XXXX-3 for further information) and cannot be activated until the ‘X’ has disappeared, at which point it will return to its pre-activation state.

Incident 1 Interview

Civilian in recording, ██████████ (21 year old African-American Male) taken in by Psi-7 for questioning. Interview recorded; transcript as follows:

Alpha-1: “Tell us again why you were in the building.”

Civilian: “I was there with ████… we’d just bought the place. Thought it’d be a nice place to do up and sell on you know… the pictures never showed that little room…”

Alpha-1: “So you said. How was the object activated?”

Civilian: “The object? You mean that room? Look, how does this help you fi-“

Alpha-1: “Please answer the questions sir, we’re doing everything in our power to help.”
Civilian: “Sorry, sorry. My friend, he… went in, thought he could find his house on the screen inside. He said it looked really modern for an old screen like that. Then he touched it, and the door swung shut… I couldn’t get it open, and then it was…gone. Just like that.”
Alpha-1: “And you didn’t attempt to use the screen for yourself?”
Civilian: “After what happened to him? No. Besides, it didn’t show a map anymore. It showed a red ‘X’ symbol. You know, like a ‘do not use’ sign I guess. Little late though.”
Alpha-1: “We took pictures of the object when we arrived. Was this the ‘X’ on this screen here?”
Civilian: “Yeah. Just there… but the ‘X’ is gone. Does that mean this could happen again?”
Alpha-1: “Thank you for your time Mr █████. This information has been greatly appreciated.”

Closing Statement: A raid on SCP-XXXX-1s home found him, with his wife, about to head to the police. Subject was terminated after responding aggressively to Mobile Task Force. Psi-7 administered Amnestics to both the involved civilian and his wife; a story has been made that the building collapsed with him in it, killing him. Building was destroyed using Det-packs back Psi-7, and SCP-XXXX and subject both taken in for study from the foundation. Subject was given autopsy and found to have no negative or positive effects from SCP-XXXX, other than relocation. Further testing authorised with SCP-XXXX to determine

At 1200 Research assistant ushered in D-Class subject D-1811 (White male, approximately 24) who was fitted with an explosive cranial unit in the event of disobedience. He was told to enter XXXX, and select the yard area fenced off outside the facility. Subject complied; showed extreme distress when gas began entering XXXX, but door remained locked. After approximately 12 seconds, subject was gone, and 42 seconds after disappearance, report arrived that he had been found outside the facility in the yard area, roughly at time of disappearance, as instructed. Upon questioning, subject could remember the machine, going inside, and selecting the location. They could not recount the gas or what had distressed them. As reported; SCP-XXXX exhibited ‘X’ symbol, noting inactive state. Further testing advised over longer distances.

Subject D-1811 terminated for autopsy, which came up with no biological change at all in the subject during his teleportation. []

At 1900 Research assistant ushered in D-Class subject D-2431 (Black female, approximately 21) who was fitted with an explosive cranial unit in the event of disobedience. She was told to enter XXXX, refused. Subject reminded of what would happen in event of disobedience, and reluctantly obeyed orders. She was informed to select a location which the foundation knows as Site-██ Subject complied; also showed extreme distress during gas expulsion from XXXX, and was heard to fall onto the floor. After approximately 12 seconds, subject was gone and door unlocked. Two hours after disappearance, Site manager from Site-██ called Dr. ████ and informed him of the subjects arrival and termination by on site guards. Video logs show her arriving the exact second the doors had unlocked on SCP-XXXX despite the distance of ██████KM
Again; SCP-XXXX exhibited ‘X’ symbol, noting inactive state. Research will begin to study how the map updates itself.

Researchers note: It might be a good idea to inform the site manager before teleporting D-Class subjects into their facilities. We might need them alive for questioning, and bullets prevent a good autopsy. []

At 1100 Research assistant █████ (White female, approximately 35) entered XXXX, to conduct experiment; taking with her a large white sheet, spanning 20 metres by 20 metres. She selected a building owned by the Foundation, for use of this experiment. Research assistant also showed extreme distress during gas expulsion from XXXX, and was heard to scream and beg for the door to be opened. After approximately 12 seconds, subject had teleported and door unlocked. Twelve hours after disappearance, On site guards escorted in Subject D-1992 (Asian male, Approximately 45) who was told to look in that area and locate a large white flag on top of one of the buildings, and select the middle of it. Subject found location, and selected it. showed extreme distress during gas expulsion from XXXX, interesting note, he claimed the gas ‘burned’ to the touch. Researcher reported his arrival as simply coming into exitance on top of the flag she laid out. MTF forces terminated both subjects for autopsy.

Researchers note: It’s a shame about █████. Always made the coffee how I liked it. Still; neither body showed signs of burns or anything consistent with what the D-Class subject described. Interesting developments require sacrifice. []

At 1300, D-Class subject D-3265 was escorted by site guards to XXXX, and ordered to enter the object. Before being given a location, the subject touched the screen, resulting in a pre-mature activation of SCP-XXXX, causing him to teleport to ████████ (A site important to him from his background.) No change in teleportation, distress in the gas, and reappearance in the same times as previously seen. MTF team recovered him soon after, however my orders for him to be terminated for autopsy have been denied. I don’t give a damn how important he is to the SCP-5701 project, it’s hardly like they’re experimenting with teleportation. I plan to order the Site manager to follow my request on the subjects return.

Site Managers note: Dr ████ has been detained after threatening to attack me for not following his ‘orders’. Pompous bastard. I’ve notified the council, and requested his reclassification to D-class. Reading his last report, he should be happy. I’m making it so he can sacrifice himself for the interesting developments he wants []

After studies by elder research staff, it was discovered that the screen was CRT, not LED. Previous, younger researchers had never heard of CRT, and simply assumed all displays were LEDs. Researchers have been taken to a tech class hosted at Site-██ to rectify this lack of knowledge.

After Incident XXXX-5, it was discovered that SCP-XXXX-1, and the entity appearing at the selected location (henceforth known as SCP-XXXX-2) are separate entities, after a chance test where Subject ████████, classified as D-3265 by the foundation (32 Year old Caucasian male.) participated in a test with SCP-5701; in which they found that previous incidents of SCP-5701-# no longer effected the subject after activating SCP-XXXX, which resulted in personnel studying SCP-XXXX discovering that this subject was, although biologically and mentally the same as D-18991, a different entity. See XXXX-Interview-2 for further information about similarities between entities. Considering this information; researchers have suggested that the gas produced during activation is an unknown, fast activating and highly corrosive gas, which destroys SCP-XXXX-1, allowing SCP-XXXX-2 to assume the previous subjects place, seemingly without knowledge that they are a separate entity. With this knowledge, SCP-XXXX has been reclassified, due to its deadly nature, and is no longer permitted for use in testing outside of testing for SCP-XXXX

The foundation decides that the actions of Dr ████ have warranted his removal of station; from this point forward, Dr ████ is stripped of his clearance and reclassified as D-4260, and to be used in the next trial of SCP-XXXX.
