Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Keter
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX resides in Hungary, more precisely in the least populated areas. SCP-XXXX does not regularly leave its residence, but when it does, it can go anywhere in the world. Due to this, scientists have implanted tracking devices in order to control its movement. If SCP-XXXX is agitated, everyone in the nearby areas must seek refuge immediately, either in dense foliage or underground, and SCP-XXXX must be tranquilized as soon as possible. When tranquilizing SCP-XXXX, the dorsal of the neck and the chest are the most preferred areas to shoot at. SCP-XXXX does not generally pose a major threat to nearby citizens, but it has been documented to ingest citizens who venture out too deep in its resting areas. SCP-XXXX should be sustained with a large bodied animal, such as the likes of cows, horses, bulls and even rhinoceros, at least twice a week.
Description:
General Description: SCP-XXXX resembles, in appearance and behavior, Hatzegopteryx thambema, a very large pterosaur from the Maastrichtian of the Cretaceous period (72.1 ± 0,2 Ma - 66.0 Ma). It stands at ~8 metres tall, and is estimated to weigh ~851 kilograms. It is capable of flight, with a wingspan of ~22 metres, and has been recorded to fly at 207 km/h. It has been suggested that SCP-XXXX may be able to fly for 24,000 kilometres without resting. This has been confirmed to be an adaptation for finding food. SCP-XXXX has been documented to gallop at 51 km/h for 150 seconds. SCP-XXXX is regularly referred to as "Mark".
Morphology: SCP-XXXX's total height is 8.241 m. Its total wingspan is 21.963 m. It displays a long head with a dark coloured beak covered in a sheeth of keratin, with a total length of 4.248 m. SCP-XXXX possesses irregular bone growth along the dorsal of the beak, also covered in keratin. On the anterior end of the lower beak, SCP-XXXX displays regular bone growth covered in keratin. These are pseudoteeth. SCP-XXXX's body is covered in dark coloured skin and feathers, along with bright yellow eyes in the posterior end of the head. Osteoderm growth is present along most of the body of SCP-XXXX, minus the wing membranes. SCP-XXXX's call is described as a "distorted trombone" that is documented to travel for large distances.
General Behaviour: SCP-XXXX is seen most of the time as a calm animal: it will not mind humans in its territory unless hungry, disturbed or agitated. SCP-XXXX dislikes loud noises, avoiding crowded places such as cities. Though, sudden outbreaks are expected to occur with mild frequency. If threatened, SCP-XXXX will display its wings to make itself appear larger and intimidate its opponent. When hunting, SCP-XXXX will aim for the head of its prey if said prey is big enough, and will deliver a potent downward "pecking" motion. This way of attacking has been documented to generate impact forces of approximately 3.5 metric tonnes/cm². It is not recommended to dwell nearby this animal.
Addendum: SCP-XXXX has been confirmed to be 70 million years old, though the reason why is unclear and under investigation. With all evidence, it is safe to assume that this animal is an individual of Hatzegopteryx thambema that survived the End-Cretaceous extinction event. During the spring months, SCP-XXXX will perform a distinct call, which scientists believe it is a mating call. There is evidence to suggest that there may be multiple individuals like SCP-XXXX, though this is not proven. Recovered audio files from the Tamadaba Accident indicate that SCP-XXXX's mating call acts like a question, and the female is supposed to respond to SCP-XXXX's question. The recovered audio files also indicate that there is a response to SCP-XXXX's question.
First reports of SCP-XXXX come from eastern African tribes, where locals describe a "large bird eating their people and their cattle". Though, SCP-XXXX has never been documented to inhabit thr African continent. Scientists suggest that, due to global warming, Africa got too hot for SCP-XXXX to inhabit, which it then moved north.

19:02, Base Nublo.
Interviewed: Corporal James Johnson, 24, male.
Interviewer: Dr. William Lee, PhD in Cryptobiology, 47, male.
Dr. Lee: Good afternoon, Corporal. My name is Dr. William Lee, and I am going to perform an interview on recent events that have happened to you and your team. Is that alright with you?
Corporal James: Yes, doctor. It is alright.
Dr. Lee: Great! First things first, may I confirm your name?
Corporal: My name is James Joseph Johnson.
Dr. Lee: Great. And your date and place of birth?
Corporal: I was born on June 11th, 1994, in Denver, Colorado.
Dr. Lee: Great! We can start now. From what we can gather, you and three other crew members were tasked with finding and neutralizing a "giant crow", on Novrmber 30th, 2018. Is that correct?
Corporal: Yes, doctor. Our Commander told us that there was a giant crow terrorizing Helena, Montana, and told us and three buddies of mine to track it down and kill it. Although, that didn't end well…
Dr. Lee: Right, we are aware. Are you able to describe the "giant crow"?
Corporal: Not quite. It was almost 21:00, but during the expedition I noticed some of its features. It had a really, really long head. Off the top of my head, I'm guessing it was 13 or 14 feet long. It was massive, too. Like, maybe 28 feet tall. It also had some impressive wingspan, maybe like 70 feet from tip to tip.
Dr. Lee (noting Corporal's words on his notebook) Right. Anything else you can make out?
Corporal: I think it was black in color. I mean, we called it the "giant crow" for a reason.
Dr. Lee: So it was dark in coloration, like a crow. (scratches his beard) How did you meet this animal? And where?
Corporal: Well, uh, in Helena, Montana. We were in, uh, I think it was a grassland? I don't remember well what was around me. What I do remember is a very loud sound coming from one o'clo- I mean, northeast. It sounded like an alarm siren, but very low pitched. Shortly after, one of my crew members was taken by it. One of the other crew members, which I will call Michael from now on, pointed at it with his flashlight so we could have viscon with the target, and we got a couple shots on the thing. Though, it didn't seem to bother it too much.
Dr. Lee: I'm sorry for your loss. But, did you manage to look at the beast in the eyes?
Corporal: Well, not directly into its eyes, but I did have a glimpse of its eyes. They were really bright yellow.
Dr. Lee: Did anything else happen that night?
Corporal: Yes. At 1:38 AM we encountered the beast again, and it was eating a dead cow. Michael had some night vision goggles with him, so he was in charge of looking out for that thing. He saw it before us. He also said something about the cow having "a huge hole on its side" but I didn't believe him. The other crew member, which I will call Edward, was behind us watching over our back. He said the coast was clear and that he was coming back with us. On his way back, he made a little too much noise, as he broke a bunch of sticks laying around. Suddenly, the beast turned its gaze to us and we were paralyzed. We stood still for a solid five and a half minutes before anything happened. The beast incorporated itself and started running at us at insane speeds. Edward was, then, picked up by the monster and swallowed whole. He got a couple shots on the monster's beak, and both me and Michael how the bullets bounced off of it. Then-
Dr. Lee: I apologize for interrupting you, but what gun did Edward use to attack George?
Corporal: George? Who's George?
Dr. Lee: The beast. We call it Corvus George, or sometimes just George. Didn't I tell you about it?
Corporal: No, you did not.
Dr. Lee: Apologies, I should've mentioned it earlier. You may continue now.
Corporal: Right… (whispering under his breath) Where was I…? Ah, yes. After Edward had been eaten, Michael and I took cover behind some trees, 15 or 20 feet away from us. Then, I requested a rescue helicopter to get us out of there. The request was accepted, but we had to wait until 3:10 AM, and it was at that time 1:47 AM, so the night was going to be pretty long. At about 2:43 AM, this "George" monster shoved its head in between the trees and aimed for Michael. Luckily, he wasn't taken away, but he did suffer major injuries, as George stabbed him in the right knee and immobilized him. No more attacks followed, and we were taken to safety.
Dr. Lee: Alright, that is good for today. We will most likely call you for more information in the future. Thank you for cooperating.
Corporal: It is my pleasure. But I have a question. Do you plan on—
