Special Containment Procedures: SCP-057-J is to be stored in a 10m by 10m by 10m containment cell at Site-17. This cell must be filled with Liquid Nitrogen, only to be drained during testing. This will lower the chance that the hat will not teleport to a wearer's family member at any given time. No Personnel are authorized to use or view this object at ANY given time, unless testing is approved. Only one person is to look at this object when it is not being worn. If the hat is to go missing, MTF Unit Eta-10 ("See No Evil") is to be dispatched with one cooperative Class-D Personnel.
Description: SCP-057-J appears to be a Black Victorian Era Top Hat, made of silk, that upon using, will kill the previous person to step foot where the wearer is. will kill a random person that at one time, was stepping where the wearer is. If there are no previous "wearers" alive, then the object will teleport to the head of a random family member of a past "wearer", that will then try to place the hat on as many people as possible. The only way to stop the "host" is to sever the head from the body. Looking at this hat will make the person seeing it extremely obsessive over it, protecting it at all costs while trying to make others wear it. If there are multiple people looking at it while it is being worn, they will all attempt to kill each other.
This object is only visible to the naked eye, meaning it does not show up in pictures or videos. This makes it extremely hard to track down the hat by surveillance footage if there happens to be a containment breach.
SCP-057-J was found in the Catacombs of England's West ███████ Cemetery, during the rebuilding of the ███████████ Chapel in 19██. Workers at the site instantly became interested in it and upon wearing it, started the cycle.
