SCP Name: Non Euclidean Bowling Alley
Item #: XXXX
Object Class: Thaumiel
Containment: Due to SCP-XXXX's close proximity to Highway ██ and neighboring communities, as well as it's local status, SCP-XXXX is to remain open to the public on a Mon-Sat schedule from 12pm to 9pm. Sundays are reserved for maintenance and Foundation activity. SCP-XXXX must be staffed by no fewer than
8 (eight) agents from MTF Theta-90. No guests are to remain within SCP-XXXX after closing hours.
No personnel are to remain within SCP-XXXX between 3:██am 3am and 9am.
Any attempts made by visitors to enter "Staff Only" areas must be stopped in a authoritative manner.
Any subsequent action from visitors may result in:
- Minimum 24 hour site-wide lockdown
- Immediate deployment of MTF Epsilon-11
- Detainment of all guests for questioning, psychological evaluation, and administration of Class A Amnestic before release.
Visitors deemed associated with any GoI in the Foundation database will be subject to further questioning and possible termination.
A branch of MTF Epsilon-11 is to be stationed at ███████ Airforce Base with no less than 2 response teams on-call at any time, as well as a single response team stationed at █████████ County Sheriff's Office for immediate response to unruly guests or containment breaches.
No smoke detectors of any kind are to be used within SCP-XXXX. Heat detectors with a minimum rating of 60 degrees Celsius are to be installed in all maintenance, staff, containment, and public areas, as well as any newly discovered areas of SCP-XXXX that are deemed necessary.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a single story bowling alley named ██████ ████ Lanes located in ██████ ████, ██. SCP-XXXX has an outer area of 85.70m X 47.90m X 7.50m. The inner area of SCP-XXXX is currently unknown. The building was constructed in 19██, but it's anomalous properties have only been reported in the last █ years. Original blueprints show that SCP-XXXX's inner dimensions were at one point consistent with it's current outer area. No fires have been reported since construction. It is still unknown what event led to SCP-XXXX's non euclidean geometry, but further testing is being done on other nearby structures.
SCP-XXXX was initially discovered when the daughter of a field researcher living in the area outside Site ███ visited ██████ ████ Lanes and mentioned what was described as an optical illusion of the outside architecture. A team of undercover field agents confirmed the non euclidean dimensions of SCP-XXXX with handheld laser rangefinders. The property was then seized by the Foundation.
Between the hours of 9pm and 11pm, SCP-XXXX will enter the first phase of it's nightly cycle. During this time, the non euclidean nature of SCP-XXXX will become more erratic. New doorways not present during the day will appear in relatively consistent locations, all marked with a different number similar to the doors in the rest of the building. Doorways numbered as high as ███ have been observed despite there only being 15 rooms currently accessible during the day. Some of these new rooms will remain after the night cycle and become a part of the consistent layout of the building1. It is possible for rooms appearing during the first phase to have their entry door appear on an interior wall. Opening the doors to these rooms leads to a new space of the building despite an existing room already occupying that space on the other side of the wall. Two doors appearing on interior walls during the first phase have remained after the nightly cycle.
"Fake Doors" have been constructed on walls opposite these doors and have been marked "Staff Only". Most rooms found during this first phase have been empty, with only the one entry door. A few rooms have been found with furniture consistent with existing break, staff, and maintenance rooms. Only one room on record (Room ███) has been found to have a second door, leading to [DATA EXPUNGED]. Room ███ is now deemed off limits, and any sightings of a door marked with ███ are to be reported along with it's location.
SCP-XXXX enters the second phase of it's nightly cycle at approximately 3:██am. During this time, doorways will begin to appear and disappear rapidly, along with the dimensions of rooms changing drastically in only a moments notice. Some of the doors that appear during this phase emit smoke from the edges of the door and have handles that are hot to the touch. Attempts to open these doors have shown that they are locked and unable to be opened with any existing building key or brute force. There have been several reported instances of 2 or more doors to the same room appearing in several locations at once. Opening these doors at the same time has resulted in the [REDACTED] of site personnel. This phase is deemed too dangerous for staff to remain within SCP-XXXX, and thus, testing and exploration during this phase has been postponed indefinitely.
Despite the dangers of this nightly cycle, the utility of consistent disappearing and reappearing rooms within SCP-XXXX has been noticed by the Foundation staff. Including the O5 council who have deemed SCP-XXXX as an acceptable containment site for Safe class SCPs, designated Site XXXX. Site XXXX is currently home to ██ Safe class SCPs, with several more awaiting approval for transfer. Further testing for the possible containment of Euclid and Keter class SCPs is on-going.
Addendum: Working on it.
Note: Foundation staff may bowl one free game on Friday nights. No free shoe rentals included.
