10 iterations of a broken man
SCP-4XXX

Two iterations reacting to a male researchers presence.

Special Containment Procedures: A security perimeter is to be maintained by Level 2 security no less than 30 meters from SCP-4xxx. Though no iteration of SCP-4xxx-1 leaving the site (designated site 99) have been reported, the closest available security personnel is to detain them under any circumstance when they are seen stepping outside the perimeter of SCP-4xxx. The instance will then be transported to a containment cell at Site 19. It is yet unknown if any standard foundation firearms are able to neutralize instances of SCP-4xxx-1 (see Incident 2420). If the on-site tasers or chloroform are discovered to be incapable of neutralizing instances, all on-site Directors, Containment Specialists, and Researchers are to be immediately evacuated and MTF ETA-10 (“See no Evil”) is to be immediately mobilized near the containment site.

SCP-4xxx-2 is to be observed by any field agent assigned to him, around the clock, and should he come distressingly close to SCP-4xxx, proper precautions should be taken to subvert him to another location (changing the road signs, blocking roads that lead to SCP-4xxx, or remote hacking of his GPS). SCP-4xxx-3 is to have level 1 security patrol and several surveillance cameras surrounding it at all times. No structure has been built around SCP-4xxx-3 as its anomalous properties have been deemed completely safe by Foundation staff, and all photographs/recordings should be placed in a securely locked safe outside of the onsite dark room. SCP-4xxx-4 should be monitored via security camera 24 hours a day.

Description: SCP-4xxx is a presumably abandoned plantation style house located in the rural area of █████ ██, USA. SCP-4xxx is occupied by at least 10 9 male humanoids ranging from early childhood age to elderly, classified as SCP-4xxx-1. No aging of the humanoids has been recorded. Each humanoid at the time of containment was unidentified, but after researchers were able to acquire and test the DNA of SCP-4xxx-1 (See incident 3537A), it was discovered all humanoids have identical DNA to a man named ████ █████ living in a separate part of rural ██, USA, 60 kilometers from the site, currently designated 4xxx-2; Thus SCP-4xxx-1 has been deemed an 'iteration' of the same person. ████ █████ was born at █████ General Hospital, at exactly ██:██:█6 pm on ██/██/19██, 25 years prior to SCP-4xxx’s discovery. This anomaly was discovered by Field Agent Carriontrooper, who frequently observes ████ █████ and has kept him 20 kilometers from the containment site on several occasions. Field Agent Carriontrooper has reported that ████ █████ has no known relatives, as his parents, spouse, and two infant children were all killed in a train accident, of which he is the sole survivor, 80 km south of the containment site. This accident occurred 24 hours prior to the discovery of SCP-4xxx. It has also been confirmed that SCP-4xxx-2 has no knowledge of SCP-4xxx's existence.

When any living animal or human comes within 20 meters of SCP-4xxx, two instances of SCP-4xxx-1 will exit the house, one always being the elderly man. The age of these instances depends upon the age of the subject coming to greet them. If the subject is an animal, the elderly and child iterations of SCP-4xxx-1 will exit the house. After approximately 2 minutes, members of SCP-4xxx-1 will spot and react to the presence of the closest living entities; Although, on three occasions, the humanoids [DATA EXPUNGED] located on the perimeter wall. Each non-human entity will receive a different reaction depending on its family taxonomy; However, when a male human comes into contact with these humanoids, they will instantly use many different psychological tactics to lure the man inside, beginning with hospitality. If this first tactic does not work, both SCP-4xxx-1 iterations will use intimidation, flirtation (only observed in cases where the man is [DATA EXPUNGED]), degradation, and as a final resort for humans resistant to formerly used tactics, all iterations SCP-4xxx-1 will exit the house and force the subject inside physically.

When a female comes into contact with the iterations, flirtation tactics are used first and foremost by the humanoid closest in age to the female. If these tactics fail, the humanoids will use an [REDACTED]. Once any human passes through the door, they are considered lost and no further action to recover them should be attempted. In the four cases SCP researchers assigned to SCP-4xxx used drones or robotics to observe instances of SCP-4xxx-1, they did not generate a response to their presence.

Once inside, all electronic devices are reported completely unusable, with all audio/video feeds distorted once they pass beyond the door, with the exception of any standard cassette tape recorder and standard SLR 35mm film camera. It is unknown if the humanoid entities are responsible for this irregularity, but it is believed that [DATA EXPUNGED]. Because it is impossible to relay the audio or images to a remote source, there is only one known way of recovering these items. 24 hours after the subject is lured into the house and deemed lost, the items will appear near the base of a heavily graffitied tree designated SCP-4xxx-3, located 2 kilometers south of SCP-4xxx.

The film attached to the 35mm SLR camera will be located in a small canister placed neatly adjacent to the camera itself, as if someone had placed it there. To date, the film negatives will always already be developed in the canister. The cassette tape which was located inside of the standard cassette recorder will also be next to its respected device, again as if someone had placed them there. All photographs expanded from the film in the onsite dark room seem to have been severely modified, and in most instances seemingly contain several images overlapping each other. In all alternative instances, the photographs will be over/underexposed, even when done by foundation photography specialists.
