Special Containment Procedures: Containment efforts of SCP-XXXX are ongoing. The ability to predict the time and location of SCP-XXXX events are necessary for initial containment, however, all attempts thus far to predict these events have failed. Once a reliable method of predicting the behavior of SCP-XXXX is established, an automated ambush system will be developed and implemented in the predicted location of the event, to abolish any dependency on a sentient response.

Until such a time when SCP-XXXX is fully contained, those who are exposed to its effects are to be administered Class-A amnestics, and Incidence Response Unit Chiron-8 (“InfoFacts”) will be tasked with the creation of a disinformation campaign to explain how the remaining knowledge was acquired. This unit is authorized to produce various forms of media containing the information presented in SCP-XXXX events, either as fiction or non-fiction depending on the sensitivity of the information.

The Worldwide Foundation Censorship Network is sufficient to prevent any potential broadcast of SCP-XXXX instances presenting sensitive information, as this network can be automatically triggered when any Foundation or anomaly related topics are mentioned. However, there is currently no protocol in place to manage an SCP-XXXX event in a large, public location.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a group of anomalous individuals capable of gathering in difficult or unusual locations to give presentations on highly obscure or niche topics. These presentations have the anomalous property of completely captivating any bystanders capable of seeing or hearing the event, regardless of prior obligations. In addition, any and all information gained from the presentation will become highly difficult to remove from an individual's consciousness. However, through the use of class-A amnestics it is possible to convince an individual that the information was acquired via another source. Any recordings or transmissions of the event will have the same memetic properties only during the duration of the event.

The means by which SCP-XXXX enters and exits a location are currently unknown, as this information is expunged from all individuals and devices upon the conclusion of the event. Typical events last anywhere from two to ten hours, with the longest known event lasting for 25 hours and 34 minutes. The size of the group varies depending on the location of the event, with small spaces manifesting only the presenter. None of the recorded presenters or members of the audience have yet been identified. With them, the group also manifests a computer, projector, screen, and metal folding chairs if no other seating is available.

It has been observed that many presentations contain information on subjects that are often too detailed to be found in any mainstream literature, but regardless have been verified following Foundation investigations. Despite the obscurity and specificity of these presentations, SCP-XXXX has not yet been found to present on the Foundation or any other anomalous object. Topic: "The Sociological Benefits of Early Onset Alzheimer's, and How to Obtain It"

Duration: 4 hours and 30 minutes

Location: The La Verendrye Wildlife Reserve, Canada

Witnesses: 2

Description: Two hikers discovered the anomaly several meters off of a hiking trail, and reported it to the local authorities after the event concluded. The case was briefly investigated by the Foundation, but was initially deemed non-anomalous. When interviewed three years after the encounter, both had retained an extensive amount of knowledge on the topic.

Topic: "The Complete History of the Use of Human Hair in French Cuisine"

Duration: 1 hour and 5 minutes

Location: Bloomington, Indiana

Witnesses: 1

Description: A resident at the ███████ Apartment Complex discovered the the anomaly in their bathroom after reportedly hearing "strange noises" at night, and was able to capture an image of the event. Although the pattern had not yet been identified, the Foundation began to suspect an anomalous cause as there was no evidence of a forced entrance.

Location: 5°07'S 121°49'W, The Pacific Ocean

Witnesses: 12

Description: The anomaly was encountered on the deck of a freighter ship, where it was observed by a large portion of the crew. After the Foundation investigated the claims presented in the event, it was discovered that ████████████ was in fact responsible for █████████████████. This incident verified the anomalous nature of the phenomenon, as the crew had obtained knowledge not available via conventional means.

Topic: “Teeth and Culture: A Detailed Analysis of the Portrayal of Human Teeth in Renaissance Art"

Duration: 13 hours and 5 minutes

Location: The Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park, Hawaii

Witnesses: 8

Description: While on a tour of the Kilauea volcano, a group observed an SCP-XXXX event taking place on top of the lava flows. The group reported seeing the entities withstand the intense heat for the duration of the event, at an estimated temperature of 800° C. Four of the members of the tour group lost consciousness from dehydration, although no long term injuries were reported.

Location: Low Earth orbit

Witnesses: 6

Description: The anomaly was initially encountered by Commander ███████ through the Cupola observatory module on the International Space Station. As all activity on the ISS is closely monitored by the Foundation, and the ISS HD Earth Viewing Experiment (HDEV) live stream is set on a ten second delay, the Foundation was able to isolate observation of the anomaly to only the six crew members on board. It should be of note that the Foundation was only able to act upon this because the live stream cycles between cameras, allowing Foundation staff to break from the mesmerizing effects of the event. Analysis of the footage revealed a group of 23 individuals approximately 15 meters away from the craft arranged in a typical presenter-audience formation, complete with a projector, screen, and chairs. None of the entities appeared to manifest with any EVA equipment, including those necessary for life support.

Topic: "How to Kill a Six Year Old Peruvian Girl in the Winter of 1976 with a Wooden Spoon"

Duration: 25 hours and 34 minutes

Location: Site-██

Witnesses: No civilian witnesses

Description: An SCP-XXXX event manifested itself within the antimemetics division of Site-██, within the containment cell of SCP-████. Despite the extended duration of the event and a surplus of antimemetic defenses, on-site staff was unable to act accordingly to contain the anomaly. During the event, SCP-████ appeared to also become mesmerized by the event, despite being capable of ████████████████. In addition, the entities comprising this instance of SCP-XXXX were able to escape the containment chamber upon the conclusion of the event, despite the implementation of Scranton Reality Anchors within SCP-████'s containment cell.

CONTAINMEMNT UPDATE PROPOSAL

The Foundation's encounter with SCP-XXXX at Site-██ should be seen as an absolute embarrassment. Not only was the anomaly able to freely enter and exit a containment cell, but the exact kind of cell we would put them in if we ever captured them. We are woefully unprepared to capture, never mind contain such an anomaly. As the nature of this SCP poses a very unique threat, I propose we revise the containment procedures to prioritize the immediate destruction of this anomaly, if possible.

I do not give this recommendation lightly, I am well aware of the Foundation's philosophy to prioritize containment over destruction. However, the possibility that an SCP-XXXX event could trigger a Broken Masquerade scenario is too large to ignore. It already knows we exist, it is only a matter of time before it presents on the Foundation. It is therefore in my expert opinion that we act swiftly to neutralize this threat before it creates a mess we can't fix.
