Item #: SCP-4906

Object Class: Safe Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4906 is to be housed in a specialized humanoid containment chamber of 6m x 6m at minimal Security Site [REDACTED]. The entire chamber has to be completly airtight with an airlocked decontamination chamber at the entrance. Any air exchanged between SCP-4906s containment chamber and the enviroment has to be filtered through a tank of sulfuric acid. Any sewage from SCP-4906s containment chamber has to be kept in an isolated tank for at least 24 hours and checked for any residue of SCP-4906-1 before being dumped with the regular sewage.

Any personel leaving the containment chamber has to undergo full decontamination procedures.

SCP-4906 may only be transported in a completly airtight vehicle or container.

In addition to the containment chamber for SCP-4906 a second containment chamber, SCP-4906-A has to be held in reserve. This containment chamber has to have the same specifications as the containment chamber for SCP-4906 with the following modifications: SCP-4906-A has to be the size of 12m x 12m and be fully furnished with child-friendly furniture as well as stocked with books and toys for a range of ages between two and twelve years.

Any prepuberscent child found on the premises is to be considered an instance of SCP-4906-2 and treated with utmost care and compassion to prevent a containment breach of SCP-4906. Despite having a classification instances of SCP-4906-2 should always be refered to by their name to ease comunication. All security staff are to receive basic training in childhandling.
Any instance of SCP-4906-2 is to be held in specialized containment chamber SCP-4906-A under supervision by a childcare professional until it's classification ceases. After which it is to be returned to it's parents or a police station with a cover story if neccesary. The administration of amnestics is usually not neccesary.

Staff are strictly prohibited from talking about SCPs that have any connection to children while in the presence of SCP-4906 or SCP-4906-2. Cross-SCP testing with SCP-4906, SCP-4906-1 or SCP-4906-2 require approval from at least two level four personel.

Update: After investigation regarding Incident SCP-4906-I1 the following update to containment procedures has been approved (See Addendum SCP-4906-A3 for further details). The Concentration of SCP-4906-1 inside the containment chamber has to be constantly monitored. If the concentration exceeds 15µL SCP-4906-1 per liter of air a number of prepuberscent children not exceeding five has to be introduced into the containment chamber for a duration not exceeding five hours. After this time period the new instances of SCP-4906-2 are to be treated as per standart containment procedures.

Update: After Incident SCP-4906-I2 has shown that completly neutralizing SCP-4906-1 is not possible all SCPs even vaguely resembling children are to be transfered to other sites. No SCP even vaguely resembling a child is to be brought within a hunderd kilometer radius of Minimal Security Site [REDACTED].

Description: SCP-4906 colloquially nicknamed "the Nanny" by staff is a genetic human male of caucasian descendt. It shows in all regards the traits of an average human male in it's thirties with the exception of a slightly above average IQ. However, research into SCP-4906s origin produced evidence for it being active as far back as the 1890s and possibly even longer. Some depictions in ancient vedic texts found in [REDACTED] seem to show SCP-4906 surrounded by a great many children, but this has yet to be verified. SCP-4906 itself claims to not know when or where it was born and doesn't keep track of it's own age.
SCP-4906 is generaly cordial and cooperative. It is fluent in english, german, vulgar latin and japanese as well as an unknown, presumably indian dialect.

SCP-4906 constantly emits an anomalous pheromone, classified as SCP-4906-1 from all pores in it's skin. So far no organ responsible for the production of SCP-4906-1 could be identified. SCP-4906-1 is airborne but has been shown to also be watersoluble. No filter known to the foundation has been capable of filtering SCP-4906-1 out of air or water. Strong acid has been shown to be effective in neutralizing SCP-4906-1 though.
SCP-4906-1 has no effect on adults. Prepuberscent children on the other hand are affected by it. How strongly the child is affected seems mainly determined by how well the child is cared for by his primary care givers. As a generel rule the better the child is cared for the less effective SCP-4906-1 is and the worse the child is cared for the stronger the effect of SCP-4906-1 is.

Any prepuberscent child that is exposed to more than 0,5µL of SCP-4906-1 will become aware of SCP-4906. It will know it's generel appearance and demeanor. When questioned different children will give different and contradictory descriptions though, generaly strongly influened by the needs of the individual child. With higher dosage the effects become more pronounced. At around 1µL the child will not only know about SCP-4906 but also know the generel direction of where it is and the child will be able to distinguish SCP-4906 from other, similiar looking but non-anomalous men. At this point the child will be considered an instance of SCP-4906-2. At 2µL SCP-4906-2 will express the wish to go where SCP-4906 currently is but can be dissuaded from going there with great effort. At 3µL SCP-4906-2 will know the rough way on how to get to SCP-4906 and will try to get there even if that means running away from it's parents. At 5µL SCP-4906-2 will be able to unerringly pick the shortest route to get to SCP-4906 even if it has to travers an obstacle course or maze to get to SCP-4906. At 7µL SCP-4906-2 will in addition start to show agility and athletic prowess far beyond what a child of that age should be capable of.
Tests have shown that instances SCP-4906-2 do not follow SCP-4906s pheromone trail but instead seem to have an innate understanding of how to get to SCP-4906. It is hypothesised that SCP-4906-1 creates some sort of mental connection between SCP-4906 and SCP-4906-2.

If the SCP-4906-2 instances manages to catch up to SCP-4906 it will try start an interaction with it. SCP-4906 will be able to succesfully communicate with any SCP-4906-2 instance regardless of language barriers or even speech capability. The SCP-4906-2 instance will show little to no wariness towards SCP-4906, treating it like an older brother or a beloved uncle.
The initial contact between the SCP-4906-2 instance and SCP-4906 usually takes the form of talking and/or playing together. This can take anywhere between three minutes and three hours. Over the course of this event the SCP-4906-2 instance will quickly grow attached to SCP-4906, beginning to trust it almost unconditionally.

After the initial contact has concluded the SCP-4906-2 instance will usually go to play on it's own or with other SCP-4906-2 instances present. Foundation pychologists observing the play behaviour of the SCP-4906-2 instances judge it as completly age-appropriate, but unusally intensive play. SCP-4906 for the most part is content with observing the SCP-4906-2 instances but will intervene if it judges intervention neccesary. When questioned about under what circumstances intervention is neccesary SCP-4906 was unable to provide a concrete anwser, stating it's "basically a gut-feeling". Child-care experts observing SCP-4906s behaviour in a group situation with instances of SCP-4906-2 judged it's behaviour to be adequate.

SCP-4906 is sometimes observed to activly teach skills or knowledge to SCP-4906-2 instances. SCP-4906-2 instances in these kind of situations show a remarkable learning capability, capable of understanding even complex matters within a very short time span. See Addendum SCP-4906-A1 for a list of skills taught by SCP-4906 to SCP-4906-2 instances. So far attempts to convince SCP-4906 to teach specific skills requested by the foundation to instances of SCP-4906-2 have failed with various reasons given. Likewise attempts to make SCP-4906 teach skills to other foundation personel or D-class subjects have failed.

However, all of this only applies as long as SCP-4906-2 stays within the SCP-4906-1 cloud. Any instance of SCP-4906-2 finding itself leaving the pheromone cloud will at first try it's best to find a way back into the pheromone cloud using all the advantages that it's current dosage of SCP-4906-1 allows for. However, as the dosage of SCP-4906-1 dwindles so do it's effects. As soon as the dosage reaches zero all effects of SCP-4906-1 cease and the childs classification as SCP-4906-2 ceases. Children whose dosage of SCP-4906-1 is running out usually experience a great deal of emotional distress about it, although not to the level of a trauma. Instances of SCP-4906-2 that are nearing the end of their classification should not be left alone but should be cared for intensivly by professional caretakers to ease the withdrawal shock. The administration of amnestics to former instances of SCP-4906-2 is usually not neccesary because of the final effect of SCP-4906-1. This final effect manifests as a memory manipulation in former instances of SCP-4906-2. Without exception every former instance of SCP-4906-2 remembers the entire experience as an adventure in a fantastical world oftentimes lasting way longer than the actual experience. However, Skills and experience gained while under the influence of SCP-4906 remain even after the cesation of SCP-4906-2 status. In addition, regardless of any other skills learned as an instance of SCP-4906-2, former SCP-4906-2 instances show a remarkable improvement in creative thinking and problemsoving excercises as well as social behaviour.

Long-term studies on the effect of SCP-4906 on the development of children are not yet available.

SCP-4906 seems to be unaware of it's own anomalous effect.

Update: SCP-4906 has the capability to sense when an instance of SCP-4906-2 is in danger and will come to the aid of any endangered SCP-4906-2 instance using superhuman speed, agility and strength. SCP-4906 seems to be unable to call upon these enhanced abilities in any other situation than an instance of SCP-4906-2 being in danger. The danger doesn't necessarily need to be life threatening for SCP-4906 to notice, high risk of severe injuries has shown to be enough.
See Incident Report SCP-4906-I1

Update: SCP-4906-1 has shown itself to be capable of affecting other SCPs provided the other SCP is similiar enough to a prepuberscent child. The exact conditions have yet to be determined, however, testing on this has been suspended for safety concerns. Furthermore, SCP-4906 seems to be unaffected by the anomalous properties of anomalous SCP-4906-2 instances. Again, testing on this has been suspended for safety concerns.
See Incident report SCP-4906-I3

Addendum #4906-A1:
List of Skills/Knowledge taught by SCP-4906 to instances of SCP-4906-2
(For brevity reasons only a selection is shown here)

- Meditation (style unknown, EKG imaging showed substantially increased brain activity during meditation)
- How to care for a pet-crocodile (Note: The SCP-4906-2 instance expressed the wish to own a pet-crocodile to SCP-4906)
- What the water cycle is and how it works
- How to bake a cake
- How to properly clean a car
- How to mediate a fight
- How to make friends (Note: Prior to it's exposure to SCP-4906 the subject was a social outsider in it's community and constantly bullied. After it's classification ceased the subject was kept being observed. Over the course of the next three weeks it managed to completly reverse it's position as an outsider and became friends even with it's former bullies. Attempts by reserachers and professional teachers to teach SCP-4906s method to adults or children have failed. Testing of the former SCP-4906-2 instance has shown no anomalous properties.)
- How to cook
- How to avoid SCP-[REDACTED] (Note: Method has been tested and proved effective but only for prepuberscent children)

Incident Report #4906-I1:
On [REDACTED] several instances of SCP-4906-2 (aged from 3 to 9) managed to infiltrate minimal security site [REDACTED] by unknown means. They were first sighted on security cameras in hallway 23, apparantly on the way to SCP-4906s containment chamber. Site security apprehend the instances of SCP-4906-2 using what was later determined to be excessive force. Footage from security cameras confirmed that the exact second one of the SCP-4906-2 instances screamed SCP-4906 turned it's head as if listening to something. It then ran towards the door of it's containment chamber and opened it seemingly without even noticing that it ripped the door out of it's frame in the process. Several automatic doors along SCP-4906s way (including two securily locked safety doors) that didn't open fast enough were damaged or straight up destroyed by SCP-4906 without it slowing down or being hurt in the process. When SCP-4906 arrived at the location where the SCP-4906-2 instances were apprehended it shouted at the security guards to "let go of the children". This startled them enough to momentarily loosen their grip on the instances of SCP-4906-2. Those took the opportunity to free themselves from being held down with suprising strength and ran into the open arms of SCP-4906. SCP-4906 then proceeded to sooth the crying instances of SCP-4906-2. Arriving researchers managed to calm the agitated SCP-4906 down and convinced it that the SCP-4906-2 instances would need to be questioned on how they managed to get into the facility. SCP-4906 only consented to this under the condition that it too would be present during this questioning which the researchers agreed to. However, the questioning was fruitless. The SCP-4906-2 instances told a story about trying to catch a small dragon but getting caught themselves. Polygraph testing showed no indication of a lie. During the questioning security personel investigated the origin of the SCP-4906-2 instances. Fortunatly a missing children report from two days prior to the incident that matched the SCP-4906-2 instances was filed at a police station in the nearby town of [REDACTED]. After getting SCP-4906 to agree that the SCP-4906-2 should be returned to their parents it was cooperative in recontainment and apologized for the damage to the facility it caused. The SCP-4906-2 instances were held for three hours until their classification ceased, given mild amnestics and returned to their parents via the police, using a suitable cover story.
NOTE: Following this incident SCP-4906 has been reclassified as Euclid and containment procedures have been updated.

Addendum #4906-A2:
Investigation into Incident SCP-4906-I1 has shown that prior to Incident SCP-4906-I1 the concentration of SCP-4906-1 in the containment chamber was almost a hundred times higher than normal, exceeding the capability of the filtration system to completly neutralize it. How this could go unnoticed is unknown. All responsible personel was sternly reprimanded. Experimentation has shown that SCP-4906s rate of production for SCP-4906-1 rises the longer it is deprived of contact with instances of SCP-4906-2. Containment procedures have been updated.

Incident Report #4906-I2:
On [REDACTED] SCP-[REDACTED] that was on route to be transported to Site [REDACTED] made a stop at minimal security site [REDACTED] for refueling, rest and [DATA EXPUNGED]. During the two day stay SCP-[REDACTED] was exposed to SCP-4906-1 for an unknown amount of time accumulating around 3,5µL of SCP-4906-1. SCP-[REDACTED] managed to break containment and headed straight for SCP-4906s containment chamber killing or maiming anybody in it's path. On-Site security on the other hand quickly realised that SCP-[REDACTED] had turned into an instance of SCP-4906-2 and began clearing SCP-[REDACTED]s path to SCP-4906s containment chamber. Due to a communication error the vital information that SCP-[REDACTED] had turned into an instance of SCP-4906-2 was not communicated to the escort security team which tried to recontain SCP-[REDACTED] according to it's recontainment protocols. This lead to SCP-4906 in turn breaking it's containment heading straight towards SCP-[REDACTED]. When the two met SCP-[REDACTED] dove straight into SCP-4906s arms, sobbing like a small child. When the pursuing escort security team caught up to SCP-[REDACTED] they immedietly proceeded to try and terminate SCP-4906 according to SCP-[REDACTED] containment protocols. However, the escort teams weapons were completly ineffective against SCP-4906 in protection mode. SCP-4906 patted SCP-[REDACTED] lightly on the head and engaged the escort security team in ferocious combat, killing three men and incapacitating the others. On-Site security arrived moments after the fight ended. SCP-4906, still in an agitated state started moving against On-Site security. Fortunatly Security officer Barkley who led the team was well acquainted with SCP-4906 and it's personality and quickly ordered his team to drop their weapons. A risky move to be sure, but it worked. Upon realising that the newly arrived security forces are no immediet threat SCP-4906 calmed down to an extent and returned to SCP-[REDACTED], checking it for injuries and soothing it. Security officer barkley than managed to convince SCP-4906 to take SCP-[REDACTED] to containment chamber SCP-4906-A, thereby preventing further contamination of the site with SCP-4906-1. After SCP-4906 and SCP-[REDACTED] thereby provisionally contained clean up began. While cleanup was ongoing researchers noticed that SCP-4906 did not show any altered behaviour towards SCP-[REDACTED], nor did it [DATA EXPUNGED]. Researcher [REDACTED] submitted an urgent request to not seperate SCP-[REDACTED] and SCP-4906 yet in order to further study this phenomenon. Request was denied since prolonged contact between SCP-[REDACTED] and SCP-4906 was considered too great of a risk. Researcher [REDACTED] was sternly reprimanded. The problem now was how to seperate SCP-[REDACTED] and SCP-4906. After much consideration it was decided to ensure SCP-4906s cooperation through a ruse. The escort security team was to be painted as intruders from a hostile organisation trying to kill SCP-[REDACTED] and that in order to keep SCP-[REDACTED] safe it would need to be moved to a more secure site. It took a lot of effort and sweettalking, but the ruse was succesful. Ultimatly it was Officer Barkley (a father of two children) who managed to get through to SCP-4906. After SCP-[REDACTED] ceased it's status as a SCP-4906-2 instance it's transport (with a new security force) was concluded succesfully.
Investigations into how SCP-[REDACTED] was exposed to SCP-4906-1 was inconclusive.
Security officer Barkley received an official commendation and a small payraise.
Request classification upgrade to Keter
Note: Request denied by 05-[REDACTED]
