Item #: SCP-4863

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4863 is to be kept in confinement cell ████ containing 0.5 meter thick concrete walls. Personnel entering for any reason are to enter wearing all sound blocking headwear so as to not allow SCP-4863 to attract and terminate Foundation personnel.
All staff entering SCP-4863's confine must keep a distance of over 3 meters so as to be ready for retribution if SCP-4863 is to attack. Routine clean-up must be performed bi-weekly to prevent SCP-4863 from metamorphosing into SCP-4863-1.
SCP-4863 is also to be regularly fed 4 kilograms of pure carbon and raw cow filet 2 times a day. This is done via mixing the carbon and meat together, and having three personnel provide SCP-4863 at the aforementioned distance of 3 meters or more.

One armed guard is to be stationed outside of SCP-4863's confine at all times, and is instructed to open fire on SCP-4863 should it attempt to escape.

Description: SCP-4863 is a creature resembling the decaying carcass of a Camelus Dromedarius. SCP-4863 kills its victims by biting the leg so as to force the victim to bleed to death. SCP-4863 attacks so quickly that no personnel have ever reported seeing SCP-4863 in motion. SCP-4863 lures its victims to it by acting deceased and making a high pitch noise, usually at over 22,000Hz, to annoy and disturb its victims.
Through various tests in the ████████ facility, the conclution has been SCP-4863 is extremely resistant to any and all ways of destruction that can be attempted. This is due to a 2 centimetre-thick-layer of Boron Carbide encasing its entire body not visible to any human personnel. A series of experiments performed by a group of D-class staff members under the surveillance of the ████ department proved SCP-4863 has muscle, bone and blood ores underneath its top layer of boron carbide. The creature is not of high intelligence, and thus can not distinguish outside desert environments from Foundation ground. Origin of SCP-4863 is as of yet, unknown.

If given the chance, SCP-4863 will metamorphose by use of its own faecal matter into SCP-4863-1. SCP-4863-1 has 3 centimetres more boron carbide around its body. in addition, 2.4 centimetres more boron carbide forms around SCP-4863-1's teeth to elongate and sharpen them. Once SCP-4863 has successfully metamorphosed, it will also have regenerated most of its skin and fur under the boron carbide layer. SCP-4863-1 is extemely hostile towards any living vessel.

An attempt to combine the living quarters of SCP-4863 and SCP-682 was made as the strength of SCP-4863 was greatly overestimated, but after 3.5 minutes, SCP-682 had nearly terminated SCP-4863 and both SCPs had to be recaptured and relocated to their mutual containment chambers.

Before capture, SCP-4863 was observed in many different locations within the Qattara Depression and on some rarer occasions, 5-10 kilometers outside of Istanbul, northern Damascus, and Anatolia. Records of SCP-4863 in this area date back to 1557.

Addendum: Initial Documented Discovery

SCP-4863 was first recorded by Suleiman the Magnificent of the Ottoman Empire, shortly before his death in 1566. He described a camel carcass having come alive, and killed one of his soldiers while marching towards Szigetvár to besiege it. Suleiman stated he was "puzzled", but ultimately decided it was best for the safety of his soldiers not to move it.

As previously stated, SCP-4863 has also been observed in the Qattara Depression. Records of SCP-4863 in this area were first documented in 1921, and documented encounters with SCP-4863 regularly occurred until capture.

The following is an attempted interview with SCP-4863.
