Special Containment Procedures: Majority of the area affected by SCP-3494 is currently regarded as a Nature Reserve by the Federal Government of the US. The rest is privately owned by the SCP-3494-01 community. The public is to be kept in the belief that the Reserve is too dangerous for exploration due to wildlife. Knowledge of existence of the SCP-3494-01 society by the local population is not to be suppressed, yet campaigns of misinformation are to be launched against any media coverage.
Due to an accord struck between the Foundation and the population inhabiting SCP-3494, SCP-3494-01 entities will display general indisposition and refusal of communication towards any visitors. The lack of hospitality, aversion and unkind disposition towards foreigners proved to be effective in the majority of intrusions.
Individuals trespassing into the zone affected by SCP-3494 are to be monitored. Detainment and amnesticization are to be applied only if the said individual has experienced the phenomenon.
At least two Foundation agents are to be embedded in the community affected by SCP-3494 at all times. No Foundation personnel is to be inside the influence zone for a period of time greater than three months after attaining the third stage.
A response team composed of no less than ten agents is to be stationed at all times in the G██████ M█████ automobile factory in case of a Stage Five incident. The team is to be supplied with firearms and heavy ear protection.
When an SCP-3494-02 anomaly is detected, a team is to be sent to terminate the SCP-3494-01 specimen responsible. The rest of the SCP-3494-01 entities are to be amnesticized and returned to their respective place of residence. In case of a data breach, misinformation and suppression is to be employed.
Description: SCP-3494 is an antimemetic hazard present in a circular area of roughly 5km in diameter present in the state of Indiana, US. The zone is inhabited by a miniscule Amish community, currently counting 1██ individuals.
The anomaly causes human subjects to commit linguistic and syntactic errors varying in severity proportionally to the time spent inside the influence zone. There are four five stages of the effect - the first three are temporal and the fourth and fifth is permanent. None of the symptoms are noticed by the affected individual.
SCP-3494-01 is the designation of persons affected with the fourth or fifth stage. There are currently 1██ SCP-3494-01 entities. These entities are not allowed to leave the anomaly zone and since 1954 there were only █ attempts at breaching containment. The SCP-3494-01 specimens are largely self-contained due to the nature of the Amish society.
Stage one: Present after 2 to 4 days of exposition to the anomaly. The subject starts to make minor errors during pronunciation and the accent is slightly distorted. In this stage the subject is still aware of the symptoms displayed by other affected individuals, even those that too are in the first stage. Most of the affected are still comprehensible in their speech. Symptoms dissipate moments after the subject leaves the influence zone.
Stage two: Present after 7 to 10 days since stage one. The subject starts to substitute certain vowels and consonants with ones that are vaguely similar to each other to the point of being incomprehensible. If an utterance contains short words in a succession they are fused together and pronounced as a single word. The subjects repeat some words over and over, the stress pattern of syllables is completely disregarded. The accent is noticeably different. At this stage the subject does not seem to be aware of the anomalous effect and perceives the effects of all the stages as completely normal speech. The effect dissipates after 5 to 7 days spent outside the anomaly.
Stage three: Present after a month to three months since stage two. Characterised by complete inversion or heavy distortion of syntactic structures used during natural speech. At this point a subject is completely incomprehensible. An analysis of recordings shows that the speech still has its own structure, albeit alien and incoherent when compared to the structure of normal speech. The effect dissipates after roughly a month outside the zone of influence.
Stage four: Present after four to six months since stage three. The subject is now considered an SCP-3494-01 entity as the stage is permanent. During this stage the entity loses the ability to produce any kind of speech patterns. The communication of the entities is composed of purely random sounds that the human speech apparatus is able to produce.
Stage five: The time needed for an individual to reach this stage is unknown. From 1954 to 20██ there were only █ instances of an entity reaching the stage. At this point, the SCP-3494-01 becomes the centre of a phenomenon known as SCP-3494-02.
SCP-3494-02 is a spacial anomaly present in a circular area starting at roughly 500m in diameter. The anomaly expands at a rate of [DATA EXPUNGED]. The sounds produced by the vocal organs of Stage Five SCP-3494-01 specimen manifest at the outer ear of every person encased in the zone, including those affected by the first three stages of SCP-3494. SCP-3494-01 specimens inside the zone feel the uncontrollable need to socialize and will gather in a single location to communicate with each other despite inconveniences. These range from a late time of day to an SCP-3494-01 instance previously known to be paralyzed from the waist down standing up and heading to the gathering point.
The sounds and the sound pressure produced by the specimens at this time are randomized, going beyond the possibilities of the human vocalization apparatus. They ranged from The Biblical Genesis recited in ~15dB, thirty seconds of Mongolian throat singing in ~50dB to ~190dB first four seconds of Rule Britannia or ~150dB sound of several gunshots.

I know what you might be thinking about the meager Containment Procedures. You might think we are too soft on these guys, but here is the thing: It works.
The people living inside SCP-3494 are innocent and we are extremely lucky to reach an agreement with SCP entities that not only works, but keeps the containment low-profile.
I am also reminding all of you that The P in SCP means Protect, and that is exactly what we are doing for these people.
Since 1954 there were only a handful attempts at containment breach by single disgruntled elements of their society. And all of these attempts were hindered by the SCP-3494-01 specimens themselves.
They understand our mission and assist us, they self-contain, we can't afford to lose that.
And do not think what I am telling you is a rant of some bleeding-heart ideologue. We still don't know everything about the anomaly. We don't even know if it's spatial or connected to SCP-3494-01s, we don't know what would happen if all of the SCP-3494-01s disappeared. As far as we know, the zone could have started expanding to encase new victims and turn them into entities.

Special Containment Procedures: The current iteration of SCP-XXXX containment chamber is the Security Room number 4 at Site-██. Outside of the document pertaining SCP-XXXX, the containment chamber is to be at all times referred to as a security installation rather than a containment cell. A glass panel leading to an observation room is built into the wall of the checkpoint. The observation room is outfitted with a camera and a 21-day countdown timer which is to be reset after the active state of SCP-XXXX is completed.
Inside the security room three restraint chairs are kept facing the observation room. The middle chair is to be designed as to allow for the restrained the ability to touch the hands or arms of the persons in the neighboring chairs.
As the countdown timer reaches the 3 hour mark, SCP-XXXX is to be brought to the containment chamber and secured in the middle restraint chair. Two Class-D personnel are to be brought blindfolded and constricted in the two remaining chairs. The moment this is done, the security room is to be evacuted, closed and observation initiated.
SCP-XXXX is allowed access to Site-██ social amenities, library and low-security areas. SCP-XXXX is to be accompanied by a security officer of at least Level 3 Clearance at all times when outside of its containment chamber. No personnel of Clearance Level lower than 2 is allowed contact with SCP-XXXX.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a transmogrifying humanoid whose form varies between its inactive and active state.
When not in the active state, SCP-XXXX has the form of a 1,78m tall, weighing 75kg, black-haired mongoloid male responding to the name "Sun Tzu" and "Changqing". It is fluent in most languages, including English. During this state the entity is very eager for conversation and social contact. When questioned about facts attributed to the life of Sun Tzu and topics pertaining the years from 544 BC to 496 BC, the replies of SCP-XXXX converge with archeological and historical research conducted before its discovery and containment. However, the entity has no recollection of the events between 496 BC to 1937. Site-██ personnel is encouraged to converse with SCP-XXXX as it involves itself in various antics and practical jokes if left to its own devices. Those actions proved to be a security risk multiple times. see Document XXXX-A. The entity enjoys a wide variety of topics ranging from casual smalltalk to discussions on the subjects of military, Western and Eastern culture, traditions and philosophy.
Any time SCP-XXXX chooses its place of residence which is in all instances a room that fulfills a military or security role, the entity creates a localized anomaly which causes all of the furniture to imitate the furnishing style typical of Zhou era China. The functionality of items and appliances is not in any way affected. The entity switches its abode and through an unknown mean materialises inside when the original function of the previous room is suspended, changed, or its primary function is defined as a containment chamber.
Every 21 days SCP-XXXX enters its active state, during which it takes the shape of one of the various historical military leaders. The entity chooses individuals from all time periods, ranging from prehistoric eras to the present day but does not take the shape of living persons.
During this state SCP-XXXX seeks out two humans in its nearest vicinity. After physical, skin-to-skin contact the affected person, now dubbed SCP-XXXX-01, follows SCP-XXXX until a second person is found and physical contact is made. If a direct attempt to stop SCP-XXXX or SCP-XXXX-01 is made, the assailant becomes an SCP-XXXX-01 entity.
If SCP-XXXX and its entities are located in an enclosed space, such as inside a building, a spatial anomaly is created. Any person other than SCP-XXXX and SCP-XXXX-01 entities located in the anomaly becomes part of the phenomenon and are thus considered SCP-XXXX-01. If at this point SCP-XXXX and SCP-XXXX-01 are not in an enclosed space, they instantaneously materialise in the closest confined area. Every possible point of entry turns inaccessible and transparent surfaces such as glass panels become insusceptible to physical damage. The inside of the room turns into a landscape which varies from one anomaly to another, its area is several kilometers wide.
In the middle of the landscape a black stone pillar is located. On top is a throne seated by SCP-XXXX. The entity is attentively observing the events happening beneath.
Several kilomteres apart from each other, two groups of SCP-XXXX-01 numbering from ~200 to [DATA EXPUNGED] march towards each other. The entities are attired and armed with equipment corresponding to the historical era of the personage SCP-XXXX has taken. In each troop a single SCP-XXXX-01 entity, distinguished from the rest of the entities with an unique demeanor, has leadership over the rest of the entities. A battle ensues between the two bands, ending with the expiration of one of the leaders. As the conflict ends, SCP-XXXX rises up from the throne and the anomaly ceases. The room becomes accessible once more, SCP-XXXX reverts to its inactive state. The SCP-XXXX-01 entity who had "lost" suffers a cardiac arrest, while the other has no recollection of any events happening after becoming an SCP-XXXX-01 entity. After the incident, the person is no longer considered an SCP-XXXX-01 entity.
If indirect measures to stop SCP-XXXX from coming in contact with a human are made, or the entity is unable to find any person, within 30 minutes SCP-XXXX reverts to its inactive state displaying signs of great emotional distress and anger.
A series of events in the geopolitical scene takes place resulting in an armed conflict between two countries. Attempts at directly influencing the political arena of the affected states end up with failure 100% of the times. SCP-XXXX displays the ability to accurately predict the belligerents and the date of the conflict. See Document-XXXX-B
