Item #: SCP-0000
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: Actions were taken by the Foundation to discourage further contact with SCP-0000 by the general population. This includes multiple de housing processes of nearby villages, disinformation programs, daily surveillance through various equipments and installation of a barbed wire fence around SCP-0000’s area of influence. A false warning sign must be set as well. Foundation personnel are required to have a level 3 security clearance or higher to access the area near SCP-0000 on site-09.
Description: SCP-0000 is a singular gray colored radio tower composed of tubular steel. It’s located in eastern Siberia near █████ village and stands at 307 meters tall (1007 ft). The tower also features three antennas and five horizontal red lines marked near its top. Despite appearances, it doesn’t emit any radio waves or messages. Even so, SCP-0000 still poses a significant threat due to its cognitive hazard.
If a person is less than 13 km 16 km 19 km (11.8 mi) away from the tower and visual contact is made, the individual will immediately fall under a deep sleep state and bone density will begin to decay at a rate of 12% per hour (see Decay Information). This decay will stop after 84% of the original bone density has been affected (7 hours of exposure). Exactly 8 days later this slumber is interrupted. It should be noted that structural decay of bone material will not continue once someone is outside SCP-0000's area of effect. However, any subjects will remain asleep. Additionally, anomalous properties from the tower will not happen more than once per individual.
These anomalous effects, however, will always be different for people with a history of severe mental illness. In such cases, after waking up, individuals will always report having a very good lucid dream (see Test Report 13A7). Also, bone decay will not be affected even within 13(x)16(x)19 km of SCP-0000.
The Foundation became aware of SCP-0000 after the village elder of █████ contacted Russian authorities from Krasnoyarsk about the existence of SCP-0000, described as “a tower that wasn’t there before.”The national government was then alerted and the case was forwarded to the Foundation on 03/07/2009. MTF Epsilon-6 "Village Idiots" and MTF Eta-10 "See No Evil" were promptly sent to investigate (more details on “Eastern Siberia Expedition Log 01-07).
Addendum 1: No animal corpses or skeletons have been spotted near the tower. It’s possible that animals are not affected by the anomalous properties of SCP-0000. Additionally, virtual monitoring via electronic screens or robots are highly recommended since eye contact in these cases doesn’t activate SCP-0000’s effects even within range.
Addendum 2: SCP-0000 has been observed to increase its range of effect after more people were put into visual contact with it for experimental purposes. Because of this, no further experiments with humans should be conducted starting from 07/11/2011.
<Foundation staff reported that around 3:00 pm on 02/01/2018 an unidentified middle-aged man wearing a white lab coat appeared to materialize out of the tower’s interior. A Site guard managed to reach the suspect within seven minutes of his appearance. Soon after, the following conversation in Russian was recorded:>
Guard: Let me see your hands!
Man: It’s been a long time since someone else used this, what happened?
Guard: This is a restricted area. Come with me quietly or I will shoot you.
Man: Who even are you? Wait, are you sick?
Guard: This is your last warning, if you continue to not follow my commands you will be shot.
Man: Let me evaluate you…
<The unknown man laid down slightly and proceeded to draw a triangle on the dirt. At that moment, the guard collapsed. Another guard arrived in the area shortly after and fired seven rounds towards the suspect. All of the bullets hit the target, but the man, frightened, started to run towards the tower and escaped by merging into it. Eventually, Site personnel entered the scene to secure the unconscious guard who would later recover from the incident.>
<An attempt was made by Site personnel to identify the suspect. However, no blood was found on the scene, and no other traces were left behind besides the triangle. The investigation was later discontinued.>

1) Personal Information
Test Subject: D-7390, female, 27 years old.
Mental State: Diagnosed with bipolar disorder during childhood.
2) Description
D-7390 was instructed to stand 12 km (7.4 mi) away from the tower. Eye contact was made with SCP-0000, and the subject quickly fell asleep. Food, water, and other primary necessities were given to D-7390 until she woke up exactly 8 days later. Shortly after an interview was conducted. Test subject described a wonderful lucid dream involving a deceased parent. Class-D intensely demanded to go back, but the request was denied by Site-09 staff. Bone density was not affected.
Note from research coordinator: By combining information from this report and previous ones, I can safely say that bone mass will only decay if the person has had at least one serious mental disorder or illness. By “serious” I mean that such disorder must have either persisted for a very long time or it needed to have a deep impact on the individual’s psychological state and/or processes. Also, D-7390 would later undergo another test, but no further anomalous effects from SCP-0000 were observed. Despite all necessary conditions being met.
Date of Operation: 05/07/2009 until 09/07/2009
Operation Commander: Yakov Shumsky CODENAME “GRIPPER”
Note: The following document was translated from Russian to English.
We arrived in the village of █████… We passed by other villages in the area before getting here and it’s all the same scenery. Most of the crudely made houses were empty. Some village folk remained in the location, but they didn’t inform anything to us. One of them eventually told us about the recent disappearance of a woman. He suspected that it was caused by the tower. Class-B amnestics was applied to the local villagers, and we moved on. We found more skeletons in the area than what I was expecting. All human, by the way. It was kind of hard to recognize a couple of them since some smaller bones were nonexistent and others “flew” away from us as we were trying to take pictures of the thin skeletons.
As my team was getting closer to the objective, we managed to locate the missing individual. The corpse just began decomposition. I can see some signs of SCP-0000’s influence. Some of her bones are just… powder. Her right arm is only being held by her muscles. Another thing our team realized was the presence of bite marks, especially near the neck and stomach. A large animal might've found her sleeping and saw the opportunity to attack. What a way to go…
When my team got near the tower, MTF Eta-10 "See No Evil" took command and sent their units to explore SCP-0000. No other buildings were found in the area. A piece of the tower was cut off and collected for examination. The rest of my team was looking at the whole operation from far away. Very far away. Those guys climbed the tower and everything, but nothing else was found besides more corpses from local villages. After this, we set up the containment recommendations briefed to us before the operation and left.
1) Personal Information
Test Subject: D-2746, male, 41 years old.
Mental State: Briefly analyzed by on-site personnel and deemed as healthy.
2) Description
D-2746 stood 14 km (8.6 mi) away from SCP-0000. Upon eye contact, the test subject fell asleep immediately. Water, food and other necessities were provided. Around 7 hours later the Class-D had lost 84% of his original bone mass. 37 hours later his bone material stayed the same. Certain parts of his body caved in and organs were displaced. After 8 days the subject woke up and described normal dreams. D-2746 passed away a few minutes later due to various internal anatomical issues.
1) Personal Information
Test Subject: D-4133, female, 32 years old.
Mental State: No mental illnesses or complaints.
2) Description
D-4133 stood 9 km (5.5 mi) from the anomalous tower. The subject fell asleep after eye contact with the tower. Primary necessities were provided. After 2 hours D-4133 had 24% less bone density. Foundation personnel then moved the unconscious body 27 km (16 mi) away from the tower towards a Foundation clinic. After 58 hours, bone density was unaffected, and the subject woke up after 8 days. Class-D was sent to SCP-0000 again but no anomalous effect have been observed. Test subject had some difficulty moving around but after 7 months of physiological therapy and medical support, D-4133 made a full recovery.
1) Personal Information
Test Subject: D-9518, male, 22 years old.
Mental State: Diagnosed with schizophrenia in a psychiatric hospital.
2) Description
D-9518 was instructed to stay 9 km (5.5 mi) away from SCP-0000 in the middle of the night. Test subject was advised to look at the tower. Class-D communicated that he “couldn’t see anything.”The research coordinator then indicated to look in the general direction of SCP-0000. After doing so, no anomalous effects have been observed. The test subject stayed conscious throughout the entire experiment which lasted 3 hours.
