Object Class: Safe

Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be stored in a standard containment locker, the code of which is to be changed b-weekly and given to Lead Researcher {placeholder Name}. The Locker is to be stored separately at least 10m away from all traffic areas. The object is to removed only for testing and only by Level 2 researchers with basic memetic resistance training.

Description: SCP-XXXX is an aluminium zipper slider and pull that has detached from its zipper tape. SCP-XXXX is anomalous in that it can 'fuse' to human skin when the slider is placed against the upper forehead of a subject. The zipper can be moved downwards towards the groin to 'unzip' a subject.

██% of these 'unzippings' reveal internals inconsistent with the removal of skin. The internals change between each 'unzipping' with no discernible pattern. The skin, once removed functions normally despite being detached from its owner. Any clothing a subject is wearing is also 'unzips' and remains attached to the skin. Any damage to the skin heals normally. Pain is felt by the owner, although test subjects consistently describe the pain as 'muted' or 'muffled'.

The object also emits a minor memetic compulsion to use the object. This compulsion extends about 10 meters. The compulsion can be resisted, although most test subjects see the use of the object as normal until their skin is 'unzipped'. Subjects then display fear and/or panic responses consistent with the loss of skin. Once subjects realize they experience no pain from this skin loss the emotional response subsides, and they return to normal activities.

The unzipped skin will remain removed from a subject unless returned to the subject with the object, this has been tested with both normal and unconventional sutures¹, all of which failed to keep the skin on the subject. The object can be removed from an unzipped skin, allowing the object to be used on a different subject.

Test 1
Test Parameters: To confirm anomalous properties of the object.

D-198376 is escorted to a testing chamber containing SCP-XXXX and allowed to interact with the object. D-198376 utilizes the object and displays brief panic once skin has been removed. D-198376's musculature has been replaced with material consistent with dryer lint. D-198376's body retains normal movement, strength, and durability despite being made of dryer lint. Subject was returned to normal and escorted back to D-class barracks.

Test 2
Test Parameters: Long term skin removal test.

D-19622 is escorted to a testing chamber containing SCP-XXXX and allowed to interact with the object. D-19622's musculature has changed to the appearance of gold, but is tested to be pyrite. D-19622 is escorted to separate D-class housing, and the skin left behind in the testing chamber. After two weeks the skin shows no signs of decay despite not being attached. The skin is reattached and the object returned to storage.

Test 3
Test Parameters: 'Exchanging' skins.

Two D-class, D-18534 and D-19120 are escorted to a testing room containing SCP-XXXX and told to interact with the object normally. Both D-class utilize the object and their skins are removed. D-18534 appears made of polished Oak wood. D-19120 appears made of molten metal. No heat is experienced by D-18534 from D-19120 despite this.

The two D-class are instructed to put on the on the others' skin using the object. The two D-class complain, but quickly comply when threatened with the removal of privileges , then [DATA EXPUNGED].
