Special containment procedures: SCP-example is to be monitored by three (3) armed guards at all times. SCP-example is to be contained in a 10 m x 10 m x 10 m room surrounded by 30 cm thick walls of reinforced steel at Site-19. SCP-example must be further contained in another cuboid, 2m x 2m x 3m and made of tungsten. In the container of smaller size, SCP-example must be constantly be electrocuted by an electrical generator, which is connected to an external power source and must always be maintained at 10000 watts. Guards are to make sure that the containment chamber is maintained in top condition. Furthermore, a weighing device must be implemented at the base of the internal chamber for testing purposes. Tests are not allowed to be conducted unless approved by O5-4. Personnel assigned to SCP-example are to refer to 'Further containment specifications' for additional details.
SCP-example upon initial discovery. Photographer of image unknown. Image takes on a seemingly low quality as it was uncovered in a partially damaged Samsung Galaxy s20 by Foundation staff.
Description: SCP-example appears to be a certain amount1 of dark brown sticky liquid. Upon contact with objects, it will attempt to lift them and attach the object onto itself by using several solid tentacles that protrude from the liquid. It has been confirmed that there are eleven (11) tentacles total. When the object is successfully attached to SCP-example, SCP-example will consume the object, making itself larger in volume. SCP-example absorbs liquids directly by moving over them or making contact. SCP-example transports itself by either using its tentacles or by rolling, achieving a maximum recorded speed of 10 km/h in its original form. As the amount of matter consumed by SCP-example increases, it also is capable of rotating at the same rotation speed, increasing overall movement rate.
SCP-example secretes more of its dark brown liquid and increases the length of its tentacles as it gains mass. How SCP-example achieves this is yet to be known, as its tentacles do not possess any cells of ordinary structure or animal blood. SCP-example will continue to consume inanimate objects, aiming to cause maximum destruction while moving. The heaviest recorded mass of SCP-example is 45000 kg, during initial discovery. Then, the Foundation recorded its top speed to be 197 km/h. This enables it to crush objects with high amounts of force, and consuming them afterwards. SCP-example controls its tentacles with alarming speed, high accuracy and utmost precision.
SCP-example is sentient and can display basic human speech, though it is unknown the origin of the voice as it does not seem to possess vocal organs. The motive for its need for destruction is hitherto unknown. SCP-example is determined to have an IQ (intelligence quotient) of 50-70. Refer to Interview log example-1a for SCP-example's speech analysis.
Any attempt to scan the internal structure of SCP-example via elements other than light have deemed ineffective. Through thermal cameras, SCP-example's external body temperature has been measured to about 30 degrees Celsius.
Discovery: SCP-example was discovered in the town of [REDACTED], [REDACTED] on ██/██/2020. It was found rampaging across the streets in the southwestern area, consuming large objects and damaging the town with its massive body.2 The O5 Council received intelligence of SCP-example's existence and deployed a special containment unit immediately. After it was detained, SCP-example was [REDACTED] by the task force members and was henceforth reduced to 10 litres. Class-A amnestics were registered to the local inhabitants afterward and a cover story was created to explain the sightings by inhabitants of nearby establishments. SCP-example was fully contained on ██/3/2020.
