Thousands of anomalies, dead and alive are found weekly. To ensure not a single one gets found by the public and isn't addressed, The Foundation needs eyes all over the world. But trained eyes cost money and cheap eyes can be almost anyone. If they can take a picture and report back to HQ then they are good enough, it's not like they get to learn anything classified.
The pitch was made. The project proved its worth. There were hurdles to be overcome, but it works, and with the sudden exponential growth in anomalous activity, that's what matters.
Rowan stands upon the beach, staring, Surveying. Rowan continues to contemplate nothing of importance, unmoving, half planning their next act. Equipped with a small bag containing cheap, plastic supplies they stare. Rowan is generally thin and tall and has an untended curly mass of hair. There is not silence, birds and waves can be fairly heard. The air is salty.
Rowan Fletcher stands small in the face of grandeur they are familiar with in some sense. The ocean stretching before them, incomprehensibly large. A sea arch stands over the water to their right, towering over any man-made structure on the peninsula, it is comprehensibly large, but being able to see its height only makes it more intimidating. The sky is grey with clouds forcing a dreary mood upon the morning. A long black mass of something sticky with legs lining its left and right sits unmoving on the edge of the beach covered in seaweed and garbage. The only animals that can be heard are a flock of seagulls screaching and cawing for no reason of human importance. The sun rises from under the arch, it looks beautiful twice and never again. The dead mass's length is four times that of Rowan's height and its width as long as their arm, the object gives off a foul odor of rubber and rot. The town is still sleeping.
Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: The perimeter of SCP-XXXX is to be secured at all times with no personnel going within 1.5 meters of its edge, this perimeter is to be fenced off. Civilians are to be turned away from SCP-XXXX's general area with a cover story regarding experiments related to a deadly fungal infection. If a civilian enters SCP-XXXX's area they are to be instructed to leave and if after transformation they are not corporative they are to be terminated. Only personnel who are already affected by SCP-XXXX should enter its radius of effect unless it is deemed absolutely necessary that an unaffected individual be sent in.
Civilian SCP-XXXX-1 instances should be placed in temporary holding cells. Any Foundation personnel that becomes an SCP-XXXX-1 instance should remain on-site at all times and assist in containment. If at any point it is deemed necessary to exterminate an SCP-XXXX-1 instance, they are to be placed in the onsite incinerator to avoid the unnecessary trauma caused by repeated termination attempts.
Description: SCP-XXXX is an abandoned two-story house southwest of Baker City, Oregon. The building is notably dilapidated with its second story is inaccessible due to the stairway leading to it being collapsed. No information on SCP-XXXX's construction or previous inhabitants has been discovered though it is believed to have been created during the 1920s based on its interior stylings. SCP-XXXX's anomalous properties and state of disrepair have made exploring it difficult.
Every two minutes a single human chosen through unknown means who has been within seventeen meters of SCP-XXXX's center for at least four minutes will fall unconscious. Over the course of ten to twenty seconds, the unconscious individual will transform into an instance SCP-XXXX-1. SCP-XXXX-1 instances do not have any common similarities other than their origin within SCP-XXXX. SCP-XXXX-1 instances retain all memories and personality from when they were human. Transforming into an instance of SCP-XXXX-1 causes a great amount of distress, but most instances recover within days.
No recorded SCP-XXXX-1 instance has been recorded to have major reality-bending capabilities nor have they been recorded to significantly differ from their original bodies in weight, or height, but changes in body plan are always present. No SCP-XXXX-1 instances have been found to be resistant to extreme temperatures while there is at least one instance that is immune to any given method of termanation. Additionally, all known instances are capable of speech, locomotion, the manipulation of objects, and the sensing of the world around them. Otherwise, there is no known pattern between SCP-XXXX instances.
Addendum-XXXX-A, List of currently contained SCP-XXXX-1 instances:
| SCP-XXXX-1 instance | Instance name and background | Description of instances | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| SCP-XXXX-1a | Jake stoner(26), caucaisan male, Baker City, Oregon. Photographer. | SCP-XXXX-1a is a transparent, green, and vaguely humanoid entity. SCP-XXXX-1a's appendages are disproportionately long while its torso is heavily compressed. Its arms' length is equal to that of their height while their head and torso only comprise the top tenth of their body. Tissue samples have confirmed that SCP-XXXX-1 is entirely made of a material with properties similar to that of glass but less dense. SCP-XXXX-1 lacks all facial features other than a mouth but has been observed to still have a sense of sight. Additionally, SCP-XXXX-1a lacks any internal organs but is still able to function and still requires sustenance. | SCP-XXXX-1a remained active on social media for three months after their believed encounter with SCP-XXXX before the foundation became aware of their anomalous properties |
| SCP-XXXX-1b | Kay Red(46), Caucaisan female, Baker City, Oregon. Biology teacher. | SCP-XXXX-1b is a dark grey mammalian quadruped with a black carapace and a trunk. SCP-XXXX-1b can expand its carapace and has been observed to do this solely to cover its body while sleeping. SCP-XXXX-1b has been recorded speaking but is extremely uncooperative with Foundation personnel and refuses to speak under most circumstances. How it speaks are unclear, at any point in which it was observed to speak it did not move its mouth, nor are there any ways that it could produce sound without doing so. | N/A |
| SCP-XXXX-1c | Kally Suns(19), Asain Female, Baker City, Oregon. Unemployed. | SCP-XXXX-1c is a metallic white humanoid with several long, wide, and flat tendrils covering the entirety of their body except for their face and obscuring their form. SCP-XXXX-1c's head is completely smooth with their facial features appearing as changes in pigment which abstractly resemble the corresponding feature while still functioning as that organ. Examination of SCP-XXXX-1c has revealed it remains suspended 2 meters off the ground at all times, giving it the appearance of being exceptionally tall. | SCP-XXXX-1c has confessed to the murder of Hank Mint(20) and has further claimed that they took this action in self-defense, the body is yet to be found. |
| SCP-XXXX-1d | Mark Clide(15), Caucasian Male, Baker City, Oregon. Unemployed. | SCP-XXXX-1d is a hairless orange humanoid with several black streaks covering its body. The pattern in which the streaks create is vertically symmetrical. Two rows of sharp protrusions are present on the entity's back on either side of its spine. SCP-XXXX-1d's eyes and mouth are completely black in coloration and their nose is absent. SCP-XXXX-1d's skin secretes a small amount of clear mucus which gives the object a glossy appearance. | Upon SCP-XXXX-1d's transformation, it called the local police department for assistance. |
| SCP-XXXX-1e | Kyle Tarp(38) Black Male, Baker City Oregon. Police Officer. | SCP-XXXX-1e is a set of 38 lights with variable luminosity and no discernable source. Each light has a spherical area around it in which matter is repelled from the light whose area is relative to the luminance of the given light. The lights are arranged in such a way to vaguely resemble a humanoid entity and move in such a way to maintain this resemblance. SCP-XXXX-1e is capable of speech, locomotion, and conscious thought despite a lack of organs or physical matter. The color of SCP-XXXX-1e shifts at points coinciding with SCP-XXXX-1e's mood with each sift changing its color to whichever color SCP-XXXX-1e perceives to be most associated with that emotion. | SCP-XXXX-1e has been confirmed to be the officer who investigated SCP-XXX-1d's call. |
Ethic's committee notice on SCP-XXXX:
It has come to my attention that SCP-XXXX is currently in need of an ethics committee ruling regarding what to do with the SCP-XXXX-1 instances. Though, as usual, the most likely action is euthanization, there could be a vote against it though. I will be interviewing each cooperative SCP-XXXX-1 instance to aid in the ethics committee ruling. There is no more detail to add to the situation.

Addendum-XXXX-B, SCP-XXXX-1a interview log:
Interviewer: Dr.Ridge
Interviewee: SCP-XXXX-1a
Dr.Ridge: For the records, I am Doctor Aran Ridge, and you?
SCP-XXXX-1a: Oh we're doing this right away, okay, uhh, I am Jake Stoner.
Dr.Ridge: Okay then, I am currently interviewing SCP-XXXX-1a… (Papers flipping)… alright. So, SCP-XXXX-1a, how did you end up inside the house in which you became how you are today?
SCP-XXXX-1a: Oh that. I was just out taking nature shots and I saw it so I went over to it to take some exterior shots, maybe get something that looks good, but then I fell unconscious and-
Dr.Ridge: I'm currently short on time.
SCP-XXXX-1a: Oh, okay. Uhhhh… yeah that's how it happened.
Dr.Ridge: Alright. What did you do after this event?
SCP-XXXX-1a: Oh I didn't do much different, I mean I don't really have neighbors so no one really saw me like this and I just kept doing everything the same. Like, I uh, just didn't tell anybody and kept taking and posting photos.
Dr.Ridge: Okay, how has life been in containment?
SCP-XXXX-1a: Oh, it's been kind of boring honestly, could I get something to do?
Dr.Ridge: Alright. Would explain exactly what you experienced during your encounter with SCP-XXXX.
SCP-XXXX-1a: Wait, wait, did you just ignore my question?
(pause)
Dr.Ridge: I'm sorry, I'm the one asking questions here now would you please answer it.
SCP-XXXX-1a: No! I'm fucking scared now, am I just going to be left in that cell to rot forever.
Dr.Ridge: No, you will not, please answer the question.
SCP-XXXX-1a: Not until you answer mine, what are you working on a cure or something and don't want to tell me for whatever reason?
Dr.Ridge: This is going nowhere.
SCP-XXXX-1a: I need answers, I don-

Containment Procedure update request:
Due to the non-compliance of SCP-XXXX-1a, subsequent SCP-XXXX-1 instances should be provided with typical humanoid containment cell furnishings rather than a temporary one to ensure they answer the provided questions. It is unlikely that the foundation cannot pay to maintain a furnished cell for a couple of weeks. Interviews will continue as usual.
Request submitted Dr.Ridge.
Request approved.
Addendum-XXXX-C, SCP-XXXX-1b interview log:
Interviewer: Dr.Ridge
Interviewee: SCP-XXXX-1b
Dr.Ridge: For the records, I am Doctor Aran Ridge, and you?
(Silence)
Dr.Ridge: I'm sorry, but your compliance is necessary to continue this interview.
(Silence)
(Footsteps followed by a door opening and then closing)
Dr.Ridge: Permission to threaten the anomaly with termination if it does not comply to continue the interview.
Unknown: Uhhh, let me… (papers flipping)… well, it's not necessarily against protocol and I don't have all day… and I don't really care… eh, sure why not.
(A door opening and then closing followed by footsteps)
Dr.Ridge: SCP-XXXX-1b, I have authorized your termination if you do not continue this interview, so will you answer my questions.
SCP-XXXX-1b: Talking is for humans, if you can't tell, I'm not one.
Dr.Ridge: Well, I don't think I've interviewed a single human but every single thing I've interviewed could talk.
SCP-XXXX-1b: What do you want to know.
Dr.Ridge: Alright. SCP-XXXX-1b, how did you end up inside the house that transformed you.
SCP-XXXX-1b: I was on a nature walk, why do you care?
Dr.Ridge: Because it's protocol… (paper's flipping)… Alright, why do you not speak to research staff when questioned.
SCP-XXXX-1b: Because all that shit is human stuff.
Dr.Ridge: Alright then… What did you do after transforming?
SCP-XXXX-1b: I freaked the fuck out and then just accepted my fate as this. Do you want more?
Dr.Rigde: Okay, why are you being so vocal about not being human? Are you implying you are an animal and that we should treat you as such?
SCP-XXXX-1b: Do whatever the fuck you want to me. I'm not doing anything other than stating a fact, I'm not human anymore, I've been changed. If you want to treat me like an animal then go do that, at this point, it doesn't really matter! I've lived a life, I've made my choices. If you want to put me down like a dog then that's up to you, you fu-

SCP-XXXX-1b termination request:
Due to SCP-XXXX-1b's uncooperative behavior, lack of major anomalous abilities to study, and the low chance that termination will backfire, I would like to request that SCP-XXXX-1b be terminated. This is a prime opportunity to figure out what, if any, ethical euthanization techniques work on SCP-XXXX-1 instances. This would not be a violation of protocol due to the major precedent for exterminating sub-anomalies that are either continually created or are created after one or more humans experience an anomaly's effect. This is in part due to their rude behavior towards me during our interview but that is only a small portion of my reasoning.

Addendum-XXXX-D SCP-XXXX-1c interview log:
Interviewer: Dr.Ridge
Interviewee: SCP-XXXX-1c
SCP-XXXX-1c: I-I know why you're locking me in here, I-
Dr.Ridge: We will discuss that later. For the record, my name is Dr.Ridge, and you?
SCP-XXXX-1c: Kally. Kally Suns.
Dr.Ridge: Alright, if you have not been made aware, we have given you the designation SCP-XXXX-1c.
SCP-XXXX-1c: What?
Dr.Ridge: If you have not been made aware, we have given you the designation SCP-XXXX-1c.
SCP-XXXX-1c: That's not a name, that's just, just, I don't know what that is.
Dr.Ridge: This is why I don't interview newly contained anomalies, alright, can we move on?
SCP-XXXX-1c: Yes, I do not want this to take any longer than it needs to.
Dr.Ridge: So, what occurred when you became this way and why did you kill Hank Mint afterward.
SCP-XXXX-1c: Okay, okay, yeah He was, well, trying to kill me before I tried to kill him alright. We, well, were… dating and he thought I was cheating and was pretty well, uh, crazy. I mean, red flags everywhere-
Dr.Ridge: Okay.
SCP-XXXX-1c: Wh-what. Did I say something incriminating, or something else?
Dr.Ridge: No, please continue your explanation so we can finish this interview.
SCP-XXXX-1c: Well then, he was going to shoot me before I fell to the ground, woke up like this and he dropped his weapon in terror and I tried to stop him from picking him up but these long things, they… they're apparently pretty sharp.
Dr.Ridge: Alright then, that is all I was assigned to ask.
[END LOG]
Addendum-XXXX-E Incident log XXXX-2:
On 14/6/2018 An onsite guard an estimated three meters outside of SCP-XXXX's calculated range became affected by SCP-XXXX's anomalous effects. Recalculation of the range by instructing a D-class personnel to move in half-meter intervals towards SCP-XXXX displayed an increase of five meters of SCP-XXXX's area of effect since the last calculation of its area. Recalculation of its area is to be performed every two months to ensure an accurate measure of its radius.
Addendum-XXXX-F SCP-XXXX-1d interview log:
Interviewer: Dr.Ridge
Interviewee: SCP-XXXX-1d
Dr.Ridge: For the record I'm Dr.Ridge, this is SCP-XXXX-1d, wow that is more of a mouthful than I remember.
SCP-XXXX-1d: I'm not going home any time soon am I. Imma rot and die in here aren't I.
Dr.Ridge: Well, I'm sure it feels that way. Right now we just need to worry about this interview, could you do that…
(Pause)
Dr.Ridge: This interview is audio-only would you mind actually stating your answer.
SCP-XXXX-1d: Yeah.
Dr.Ridge: Alright, why exactly were you at SCP-XXXX, the house, Mark?
SCP-XXXX-1d: Yeah uh- wait you actually called me by my real name.
Dr.Ridge: I thought it might help get a better answer so I ran it by my superiors they reluctantly let me do it. Still wondering why it wasn't protocol. So, Mark, why were you in a random abandoned house?
SCP-XXXX-1d: I'm not a pussy, that's why.
Dr.Ridge: Some friends told you to do it?
SCP-XXXX-1d: Yeah, there are all kinds of stories about a creepy ghost girl in that area, apparently some chick got stabbed by her boyfriend and became a ghost who fucks up anyone who goes near that house, all kinds of sightings, there are even some pictures. But ya know, ghosts obviously aren't real ya know, but I guess that house has some crap going on with it.
Dr.Ridge: Well, I'm not sure how nonexistent ghosts are given I interviewed one.
SCP-XXXX-1d: I call bullshit.
Dr.Ridge: I'm interviewing you, so why not a ghost.
SCP-XXXX-1d: Oh, right…
**Dr.Ridge:* I haven't gotten to ask anyone else among those affected by the house this, but what has life been like in containment?
SCP-XXXX-1d: Containment, the fuck is that supposed to mean, just call this hell hole fucking prison alright.
Dr.Ridge: Okay then. Is there anything that you would like to make your experience here less painful?
SCP-XXXX-1d: maybe an opportunity to see the fucking sun?
Dr.Ridge: Well, that is often standard practice on well-behaved anomalies so that is most likely in your future.
SCP-XXXX-1d: So I'm called a fucking anomaly now, what is that supposed to mean.
Dr.Ridge: Do you have anything else you want to say before I turn this thing off.
SCP-XXXX-1d: Yeah, I just want to know what I did wrong to end up here.
[End Log]
Addendum-XXXX-G SCP-XXXX Radius update:
Based on recent bimonthly calculations, SCP-XXXX's radius is increasing exponentially. The rate at which this radius increases is inconsistent but has at no point shown signs of slowing. Current estimates place SCP-XXXX as enveloping the entire earth in three months.
Addendum-XXXX-H SCP-XXXX-1e interview log:
Interviewer: Dr.Ridge
Interviewee: SCP-XXXX-1e
Dr.Ridge: For the record I'm Dr.Ridge, and this is Kyle Tarp.
SCP-XXXX-1e: Hello Dr.Ridge, it's a pleasure to meet you.
Dr.Ridge: Alright, I've asked most of the other important questions to the other SCP-XXXX-1 instances, but first I'll ask, why were you at the house when you became this way?
SCP-XXXX-1e: I was just investigating a call I got, I happened to be the only officer who wasn't busy at the moment and was sent to help the kid out. I just assumed they'd taken some drugs and called the police over what was going on in their bad trip, I'd say I wasn't perfectly right. (Laughing)
Dr.Ridge: Yeah, you could say that. Well, there is something very important I need to ask you.
SCP-XXXX-1e: Something serious?
Dr.Ridge: Yes, we are a foundation that contains thousands of things that don't follow our known laws of physics and the house you walked into, alongside yourself both fall into that category and in most cases, when a person gets turned into one of these anomalies, we, well, put them out of their misery and are currently debating whether or not we should do that to you and others effected and I was hoping for your input.
SCP-XXXX-1e: Wow, that's something alright, I don't know how to answer that. I mean, I don't want to die, it's not like I'm some thoughtless monster and I'm not like, in pain. I don't see what misery there is to be put out of.
Dr.Ridge: Just know that we can't let the public know that anomalies exist so you'll never get to leave this site.
SCP-XXXX-1e: Well, I guess I might as well make the most of this shitty site rather than take the easy way out. I only got one life you know.
Dr.Ridge: Alright, you are the last anomaly I will be interviewing.
SCP-XXXX-1e: Over already.
Dr.Ridge: Yeah, I'm short on time.
Addendum-XXXX-I Recovered document XXXX-1:
The following document was found on Dr.Aran Ridge's office two days after they were found entering SCP-XXXX and voluntarily becoming an SCP-XXXX-1 instance. They were not made aware that it was discovered SCP-XXXX's radius increases and decreases in a cycle that completes over the course of a month and two days. The SCP-XXXX-1 instance Dr.Ridge became is yet to be found.
Daric, they probably won't ever end up letting you see this, but someone will read it and that's all I care about at this point. I just want something, some piece of text, some documentation of my existence. Maybe someone will be affected emotionally by this, I don't know and don't have the opportunity to care. This is probably going to make no sense, maybe it will, as I said, I don't get to care. I am going to get up and walk into SCP-XXXX. It's not going to matter really, I'll be engulfed either way, but I just down know if I should be scared. I've thought about ending it here so I never end up a monster. God, this is so informal, the least formal thing I've ever written, it's painful honestly. I just have too much to say to go back and fix this. I just don't think it matters if I go in or not, what will I lose, what thing of importance will I lose. My job, I'm fleeing this place anyway, I've gotten to meet anomalies, no, people who the foundation hasn't broken emotionally. That is what I have to say. If they are people, if the one thing the Foundation taught me about anomalies is wrong, if the organization I've devoted my life to was either wilfully ignorant or malicious, if the line between human and not human is further than I thought, then I don't fucking know. I just don't know what to think. I've been fucking played and I'm only now realizing, I've been in a cult, brainwashed, and now is my chance to get out. If it's not Daric who comes to check on me after I say nothing for however long, then whoever you are, please just give this to him.
Sincerely, Aran Ridge
Ethics committee vote update:
It has been voted in favor of euthanizing SCP-XXXX-1 subjects. They were not given Dr.Ridge's 3rd 4th and 5th interview recordings due to a believed bias gleaned from his recovered document. All addenda referring to SCP-XXXX-1a-e are deemed no longer necessary and are to be deleted, alongside Aran Ridges document. The containment procedures are to be updated and this article transitioned into its final iteration, including the missing information regarding SCP-XXXX's radius.
Addition by Dr.Carver, regional director of America.
This is room for more drafts, ignore this if for some reason you're not???
