Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be stored in a containment cell approximately 1.5m x 1.5m x 1.5m. this cell should sufficiently simulate the habitat of a common box turtle aside from the inclusion of steel hiding spots which SCP-XXXX seems to prefer. Under no circumstances should SCP-XXXX be allowed more than 27cm off of the floor during any activity and any object or climbable vegetation in the cell should be kept under 20cm to avoid triggering the entities anomalous properties.

Routine cleaning by a team of D-Class personnel trained to handle SCP-XXXX. Rotting vegetation will be removed accordingly.

Description: SCP-XXXX appears to be a subspecies of the common box turtle Terrapene Carolina closely resembling the subspecies T. c. triunguis. unlike the other members of the species SCP-XXXX has various adaptions making it particularly suited for climbing, most notably are a group of tiny protrusions along the feet that allow SCP-XXXX to climb most surfaces at extreme angles. It is not currently known if this is an anomalous feature or a purely biological adaption.

Unlike other turtles, SCP-XXXX will seek out tall objects and will attempt to climb them. Upon reaching a height between 20cm and up to 5m SCP-XXXX will detach itself and plummet backwards. when SCP-XXXX lands after falling from a height greater than 30cm an explosion between .5 tons of TNT and 3 megatons of TNT will occur depending on height, impact velocity, impact force and diet. any weight added to SCP-XXXX will affect explosive yield.
